Just had DPD pick up my mini for rebuy. I told the driver I wanted to take pictures of the phone in the box and he said ok then just slid it into the box! This is all I got. At least he took a photo but only of the front of the phone. I took some pics myself with todays paper.

Video would have probably been better 😅

Had a great experience using the music magpie smart kiosk apart from a 20 minute wait.

Traded in my daughter’s iPhone 11 128GB for £295 which was £23 more than rebuy plus an extra £20 for an upgrade code. The case and screen protector kept it in mint condition which was a surprise given how teenagers can be.

After reading the debacle yesterday about the guy who posted it in and got gypped there was no way I was posting it to them.

Got the quoted price and the money was in the bank before I got home.

Excellent news.

Anyone used the 2 hour delivery from an Apple Store for £8 ? Mulling over a AW SS Series 8 and it’s available for today on that basis.
Reliable ? I assume it will be.

I just went into the EE shop here in the shopping centre to ask for a QR code. They told I should use the app to transfer the eSIM and wouldn’t at first say yes.

I then insisted and they said if I have my passport or driving license they would give me one. I didn’t have either so they wouldn’t.

They then showed me how to download and add the eSIM through the EE app on the new phone. As I hadn’t yet set it up I couldn’t try it while I was there. So once I set up the phone at home later today I’m going to try that and hope it works.

They told me to go into settings on the app. Then choose replace my eSIM/SIM. Then choose my number and follow the steps. The a text message should be sent to the old phone with a PIN number to activate the eSIM on the new phone. I have no idea if this will work but I will try it once I set up the new phone.

Has anyone managed to successfully use the MM smart Kiosk on a weekend? I don’t really have time during the week.

Did the MM kiosk yesterday. All went smoothly for me. Paid quoted amount of £345 for 11 pro max 64gb. Money in my account in 20 mins.
This is good to know as this is my first year a family member hasnt had a hand me down so I am selling. reBuy were offering me the best price (got the quote after announcement and pre order release so not hte best) but might choose MM for the ease next time.....

For god sake…just spoke to O2 regarding esim transfer and they have to send a new esim out in the post!! Had no idea you couldn’t just transfer current esim to new phone. I now have to wait until late next week to receive it…..can’t use my new phone until then! What a ball ache. Not going esim again after this.
More of a P (post) SIM then?

Wow. Lot of issues with e-sims. I thought it would be a seemless experience and yesterday was actually pretty jealous I didnt have one yet but seems plagued with issues right now o_O

On a further note I read online somewhere that for the eSIM quick transfer to work with EE both phones have to be on iOS 16. Not sure if that is the case. I did think about updating my 13 Pro Max to iOS 16 but I’m not sure if I want to do that in case there is an issue with the update.

Just picked up my silicone case from John Lewis. Nice colour and looks good on my silver 14 PM. I do have a soft spot for Apple Silicone cases, even though they are pricey. JL have 20% off at the moment though.

It should work that way. That’s one of the options on their support site.

I’m on a Vodafone SIM Only tariff and I’m thinking of switching to eSIM, although I don’t really know why… 🙄
It depends how easy they manage them. EE are relatively straightforward as you can download one from the app whereas some networks make you scan a QR code etc, but things don’t go smoothly for everyone.

Now imagine that you are travelling on holiday to a foreign country… You are stuck with an e-sim only iPhone.
You don't speak the local language very well, you have no local ID, you have no local bank account…

Using your UK provider would cost you around £100/MB…

What could go wrong?

I'm keeping a phone with a physical sim for quite a few years yet.

Seems wise... Apple might force our hands next year though.

It’ll come soon enough I recon, but that depends on how much widespread eSim is across Europe, as I can’t see them releasing a U.K-only iPhone that’s eSim only.
