Had a great experience using the music magpie smart kiosk apart from a 20 minute wait.

Traded in my daughter’s iPhone 11 128GB for £295 which was £23 more than rebuy plus an extra £20 for an upgrade code. The case and screen protector kept it in mint condition which was a surprise given how teenagers can be.

After reading the debacle yesterday about the guy who posted it in and got gypped there was no way I was posting it to them.

Got the quoted price and the money was in the bank before I got home.

Not good experience for me, did me and sisters, took ages and numerous retry’s. Eventually both went through with prices quoted.

Half hour later both me and sister got email to say payment has bounced via BAC and to check details. Both are exact.

So now no iPhones and no payment and no way direct to contact them….email says 3-5 days and can’t find a phone number.
 
Well... when I took my phone to apply my screen protector, I saw a dent on the casing.

After a call to Apple, they are going to exchange it. I received a mail from them explaining that a driver from UPS is going to come take the phone and send it back, and then, Apple will send me a new one.

I'm afraid to give my phone to a driver and it gets lost. What are your advices to make this painful experience smooth ? Have you already return something to Apple via UPS or another company?

(I received a second mail thanking me for my order and stating that my phone is going to be sent... 18-25 Oct ! Apple employee told me before we hung up that Ithey'll send the new phone as soon as UPS scans it, but mail says otherwise... Hope employee is right o_O)

Your best bet is if you can get to an Apple Store where they’ll be able to exchange the phone there and then.
 
Parcelled up my 12PM with lots of bubble wrap into the box the 14PM came in and then another box with lots of thick paper packing around it! Took lots of photos and video of the phone first. Dropped at local RM delivery office this morning so it hopefully gets to national sorting quicker but who knows. Think am on day 19 but the MM CS I spoke to on chat earlier this week when I had (and still have) account log in problems agreed to put note on file to extend by 7 days since I couldn’t check out a saved quote. I have a screenshot of that. 🤞

before that I messaged DHL to ask why they lied about out an attempted delivery and calling card yesterday. Got a quick reply apologising and saying delivery would be re attemptEd tuesday. about an hour or two later my app pinged to say it was out for delivery and it just arrived Right at the end of the delivery window. Hubby went out on the street when the van pulled up (while I am languishing in the bath!) Will possibly open tomorrow but I think am probably set on the silver I got yesterday. In fact I may not open box at all as I assume that would enable local store to put into stock (when I take for refund) For some else.
in other news I fitted the JETech screen protector and although I did a marvellous bubble free job it doesn’t actually go to the edge of the screen. Not sure if faulty size or but not happy with the fit. Will post pictures later for thoughts.
I think most screen protectors don’t go fully to the edge of the screen to allow space for the sides of phone cases. I could be wrong though.
 
Boom iPhone 14 Pro Max returned and iPhone 14 Pro collected. Only travelled 150 miles to sort it.

Manchester to Gateshead!!!

Although we have a happy wife as we now get a night away!!

To those of you that have sent your phones to Rebuy.

Did you just hand over the phone to the DPD driver or did you put in the original box before handing over.

What packaging does DPD provide when they collect the phone from you?
I've just sent my iPhone 12 mini off. Just gave the bare phone (no box, no cable) to the driver. He had a cardboard folding envelope with a polystyrene foam pocket to put the phone into and then wrap up, seal and put into a plastic envelope with a pre-printed label. He had a checklist to go through on his handset (ask whether SIM had been removed and accounts removed, no cracks on front or back glass, etc).

He said the parcel should show up in the DPD app. In the details for the delivery of the packaging there is a second section which seems to be for the return part but so far it just says they haven't received the package yet.

One other thing to mention is that the earliest collection slot Rebuy offered me was tomorrow. I then got alerts this morning saying DPD were coming today. Cue rush to transfer old iPhone to new iPhone!

Got used to the pro size on the burner between ip13max and 14. The max just feels too big and heavy now!! Always had max phone since the 6 except for X obviously so this will be a change. My wife still reckons I will end up back on the Max

UPS has to give me a proof I handed the phone (I guess he scans the ticket and give me a copy or something), so I will ask the driver before handing anything to him. I hope it will be OK!

Yeah the max is great but the screen is too big when you have to multi task lol
 
Applied the Spigen EZ fit screen protector and really recommend it as others have done…very straightforward and no air bubbles after applying it. It doesn’t cover the black bezel however whereas I believe the ESR Armorite does?

Does anyone here use eufy security app? My iPhone Pro is rebooting itself everytime I use the back gesture in the app while reviewing the clips etc. Can anyone please confirm? I have deleted the app and reinstalled again but the same issue still exists. I'm on the latest ios 16.0.1

I think you could have booked a genius appointment return it and get them to put money on gift card and have new device ordered on iUP and just pay for it from the gift card.

I have just done this albeit mine wasn’t damaged.

I reserved a device this morning through iUP, it’s so easy to check stock and it is changing live constantly. I had the choice of 5 stores then no stores then 6 stores then 3 stores for same model. I just waited until a slot came available for a store I wanted. I went in with my Max. They refunded it to a gift card and brought out the iUP device and just took the funds from the gift card. I had to pay £10 as I went up to 256gb.

Spigen EZ Fit protectors really are the best.
Never had one fail on me.
 
Okay finally got through. They're unable to change the payment method and she's reissued the payment and it'll be coming the next working day. So that's Tuesday I guess.
🙄 Pain in the arse, hopefully they fix their payment system by Tuesday
Pretty sure we’ve all dealt with the same person! Feel for her to be honest. Not in a huge rush for payment so can wait until Tuesday. I wonder if this is only impacting Kiosk orders or if it’s a wider MM issue
 
I think I’m going to do this too.

Did you migrate from 1Password (I.E transfer everything over via some kind of export/import), or did you just start again in iOS?
If you have a Mac I think you can export from 1Password to a csv then import into the passwords settings app which will sync to your phone, or just depending on how many accounts you have just copy and paste usernames/passwords into the passwords settings app on your phone.

It’s a bit time consuming but it’s a one time thing then you just use keychain.

Ok so decided i would give market place a go to sell my IP 13 pro max.

I've already had people offer me £400 cash today (listed for £650) and someone just ask if i was sure my iphone was sierra blue (which im sure).

I think i'll go to a MM kiosk.
