Those who’ve returned things…. IF I was to swap to a pro max… could they refund the money to a gift card rather than to my credit card? Otherwise I wouldn’t be able to do the swap as I’d have to wait for the refund to get credited

They can do the refund on to gift cards and then you can buy the new phone with them. Just keep in mind if you then decide to return the new phone for a refund this would again be issued in gift cards and not back to your bank account.

awesome!

I must have gotten lucky because the gold 128gb was the only available.

I hope it isn’t a phone someone has returned and is new.

Well better go to sleep now lol

I don’t think they give out returns. Does anyone know what they do with them. Do they become replacements or go back to Apple for resealing as new?

Not true. I paid for original on gift card/account balance, when I returned and needed a refund of the difference they had the option of gift card or other method, he chose other method and returned it to my card.

They have the choice it’s just not common as can be used for money laundering.

New watch shipped from china. Assumed the Hermes bands were made in France so would have shipped from here.

AirPods should also ship today!
Was getting a bit anxious about my AirPods still "preparing to ship"!

Good to know they’ve done it the other way..
Maybe they can see the original payment method for the vouchers on their system.. would be suprising

So for me they had to return £110.

£10 was paid by card which was the difference between the 128 max and the 256 pro.

The max was paid by account/gift card

When swapping to the pro 128 yesterday they were offered the £10 refund back to original payment but then it errored for the £100. It was greyed out the return to my registered card that the £10 went to.

There was the option to return to other payment method and he said we can return to any card so used the same card. It did ask him to go and get manager authorisation to change the return card which he did and all fine.

That interesting. Most retailers will not do that. For example someone could be given gift cards for a particular retailer and buy a product from them. They could then take it back for a refund and ask for the refund to go to their bank account. In this case in effect they would be getting a refund technically on the gift cards which would not benefit the retailer as they did not get to keep the money from the gift cards. In my personal experience when I’ve used gift cards at other retailers and returned the items for a legitimate reason I’ve been issued new gift cards.

I think the branding is kinda cool.

Reminds me of an old skool camera lens.

I’ll be honest. If I hadn’t already sold my 13 Pro Max, I would be considering just keeping that if I had both side by side.

As I said previously, updates to the hardware every year are getting less and less so far that it hardly seems worthwhile doing yearly upgrades, JUST for a camera megapixel bump up (or any other incremental change) !!!!

@Jinjin out of interest is there any chance of getting a watch ultra tomorrow? John Lewis maybe?

And I’m aware there’s probably a watch thread but I’m loyal to the iPhone thread

Haha, you’d think there’ll be stock around the usual suspects. Someone in the uk watch thread mentioned getting an Argos dispatch email for theirs.

Can imagine Apple Store stock, the Bromley one I went into this week to return my S8 said they’ll have it on Friday.

I saw some stock yesterday at Edinburgh, if you go to the iup page and get a chrome add on to refresh every 2 seconds that’s what I did😂
I managed to reserve the 14 pro in gold last night via IUP.

Got it booked for Saturday. Fingers crossed this doesn’t have any issues. My first one I got was scratched on the display albeit tiny

According to the iPhone checker there is stock in my local Apple store, but according to the Apple website there isn’t.
Don’t think the iPhone checker link works well?

Hard to sat tbh. The stock at Apple stores seems to go within seconds. The checker site might not refresh that quickly

Couldn‘t help having a chuckle at that. I’m sure they are made in France but don’t they make a lot of ‘Hermes’ ‘Chanel’ and’Louis Vuitton’ stuff in China?

Supposedly handmade and boxed in France (the straps).. I’ll have to see once the ups tracking actually shows something useful!
