Partners Ultra arrives tomorrow, which was originally scheduled to come on October 14th (ordered via Vodafone).

Meanwhile my PM which is due next week is still processing…

At least there’ll be a new thing to look at to tide me over

I have a problem with a click when opening the camera on 3rd party apps- Instagram, Be Real. It’s a click type sound. Chatted with apple support who said the update should fix or have to wait for an update from app developer. The 16.0.02 update hasn’t fixed it. Just wondered if anyone else has encountered this. It’s a gold 512 Mb pro. I can visit apple next week and try an exchange but phone is perfect in every way so wondered if it was a software thing? Doesn’t happen when opening the native camera app. Thanks guys. Any help appreciated.

Those that use the stock mail app and have an Apple Watch - is there anyway to change the notification sound on your watch for the mail? Currently mine uses the same sound as when I get a text, would rather be able to know the difference between them when getting a notification. I do have 2 different sounds on my phone for texts and emails, but doesn’t seem to have carried over to the watch?

Picked up my 14 PM in silver this evening yay! So in love with it coming from an 11 PM!

I have a question, on my way home I plugged my phone into my car to get maps up, however I didn’t notice until I got home that the 14 was hot?! I never had this issue before, it also had a notification saying it is turning off charging until the temperature cools. This obviously isn’t good but I’m used to plugging my phone in every time I travel and using maps and playing music, any suggestions to help this? Is there a way I can turn off charging when it’s plugged into my car, or am I forever going to make it over heat and ruin the battery?

great you finally got it! assume you had no problems changing payment method when collected?

r.e. the heating, a new out the box phone recently set up will be doing loads of stuff behind the scene.. download stuff from iCloud, indexing etc.. that coupled with using nav and charging might have caused it to get a little hot.

set the phone up and give it a change to finish what it needs to and see how it going the next few days.. I'd assume it went happen that often

I'm one of those people who have both phone and watch on silent :D will look at the settings once I get a watch in my hands

you'd have thought 16.0.2 would have fixed the camera issues... if you're not happy, I'd go and change it.. if you can find some stock!

Yes was all fine thank you so much for your help! When it got to the payment method on her device and I said I just want to pay monthly she was a bit confused and umm and urrr and then was like yes that’s ok and clicked the monthly one, not the iUP choice (as I could see the device)

Decided to trade in my 11 PM there and then to get a discount on the monthly cost and all was smooth, felt a little sad when I walked out without it tho, felt like I’d lost my arm haha

Ok that’s a fair point I didn’t think of that, thought it was something to do with the battery as my car is normal USB to lightning cable not usb C, should this be an issue in anyway?

So here's one for you folks - I've just noticed that my wife's 14 Pro's AOD is brighter than my 14 Pro Max's AOD... It's slight but it's deffo noticeable.

Any thoughts? I compared on various levels of screen brightness and checked the font and colour of the clock. True Tone and Night Shift off on both phones. Anything else I'm missing?

and random amazon ones too

Just ordered one of these to check them out. Should be here by 7pm.

As others, I use the stock mail app. I did go through a period of where I used Spark. But I really was uncomfortable with giving a third party app so much access to my emails. I know it’s probably more than fine but the knowledge that if they wanted to, they could read my emails etc., was just a bit unnerving for me. That was my understanding of all the research I did around it anyway. So back to stock mail app I went because the outlook app sucks too

Edited to add: I’m much more comfortable giving Apple that access than a random third party app

Ok I still use Spark and haven’t used Apple Mail for a loooong time. I know Spark basically poll your messages first. I don’t believe Apple does with their Mail app. I am sure Apple Mail goes straight to source whereas Spark serve the email.

It’s functionality over security. The old debate.

Spark is so good with the smart inbox.

Hi All,

I pre-ordered my iPhone 14 Pro Max from Amazon India on 9th September, as soon as pre-orders began.

Since then, was given a date range of 17th September - 25th September as the delivery date.

Today is 23rd of September, but my pre-order is still stuck at "Preparing for Dispatch" status since over 24 hours, without any invoice number or P-List shared by Amazon India. The customer care is of no use, they give a same response to wait till 25th, but I know for a fact that orders don't get stuck in "Preparing..." until there is a serious issue with stock at Amazon warehouse.

My brother got his phone delivered on 21st September, and his status changed from preparing to dispatching on 20th September under 4 hours until it was finally shipped.

Has anyone else faced similar issue with Amazon, where your orders were delayed and stuck in "Preparing to dispatch" on Amazon?
