Not sure about faulty units, though a forum member did also state that they had a slight faulty iPhone this time round and they were advised to return theirs now and await a replacement which wasn’t instant
Ok. Well in my case, the phone wasn’t faulty. Just a simple change of colour.
But Apple did send me a replacement straight away and i received a shipping pack a week or two after to return the other iphone. But i guess we’re talking over 10 years ago so maybe things have changed…

I was thinking about returning my gold 14 pro 128gb for the 256gb but I’m paying for icloud, so maybe I’ll just keep it. Especially if apple expect me to return the phone and await for a new one, as i don’t have a back up phone anymore, since trading my iPhone X

So this Ultra is my first cellular AW. I’m on a sim only plan with Three and they’re giving 6 months free cellular for the AW then £7 per month cancel anytime. I always have my phone with me but will test it for 6 months anyway.

It’s two clicks on setup and done. Was active after 5 minutes.
I never knew 3 were a supported carrier for apple watches. Apple dont list them as one on their website currently.

Off topic but I see a few Tapatalk users here:

Is there any way I can turn off notifications for new posts to MacRumors and just keep them for replies/quotes?

2 days in with my 14 PM, and I love it! Although I’m finding it slot heavier to hold than my 11 haha.

Question: is charging my phone via my car, a usb to lighting cable, bad?? I plan to travel 6 hours to Cornwall in a few weeks and will need google maps. Is it really bad for the battery? Anyone know an alternative way as my car doesn’t allow for wireless CarPlay.

Yeah nor did I! I thought I’d have to switch back to EE to go cellular then got an email from Three about it last week. Looks like this is a brand new carrier partner as thy’ve been mentioned in another MacRumours article today

I charge my iPhone by lightning cable in my car 12v socket all the time, what are you concerned about?

Have a look on USwitch at Sim only deals. I’m on an Unlimited deal with Three, and if service is good where you are I don‘t think it can really be beaten!

So what are peoples thoughts on the phone now they've had them a good week or so?

Mine are:
- Still getting use to the camera bump size and extra weight (coming from a 12 Pro), it is causing some slight discomfort and I do pick up my 12P every now and again and miss how light that feels in comparison
- Not used DI much, but when I do I think ok thats cool (so playing music, I like that Face ID expands from it, phone calls come from within it too along with charging, AirPods and silent mode)
- Whilst I'm getting used to the camera bump and adjusting how I hold the phone, I LOVE the camera especially macro mode, keep taking photos of things zoomed right in and seeing how much detail I can really get! 48MP/RAW meh can't say I've noticed that much difference tbh compared to 12MP
- I do enjoy AOD (feature I've wanted for what feels like forever), even though I have an apple watch, when it pings I glance at my phone first and see if its a notification I need to bother checking out
- Undecided on what I think of the battery, currently over the last 7 days (and I've had the phone 6 as I type this) I'm at avg screen active 2h 42m avg screen file 1h 1m (started a new job this week so I'm on my phone a lot less than I would have been previously)

Hi All,
New here. I placed my order on Amazon for a 14 Pro Max on 16/09 with an estimated generic delivery window 5 Oct - 2 Nov. My card has been charged on 21/09 but I haven’t received any notification via email nor a dispatch date. My Amazon page doesn’t show any new info and basically it’s like nothing has happened since I placed the order, apart from the fact they’ve taken money from my bank.

I’ve called them 4 f o u r times but been a waste of time so far, they are clueless and replying with generic answers.

Now, reading and learning…..is it that Apple has shipped from China to the Amazon Warehouse? But Amazon doesn’t track this tier 2 to tier 1 shipment, despite needing to charge me because Apple has charged them for my order shipped from China?
Anyone here has purchased from Amazon?

Yeah I get what you mean, I also wouldn’t mind changing my 512 for the 256 which is what I really wanted ideally but it’s too much off a faff so I’ll probably just leave it

I do find it strange that EE don’t yet support international roaming on the watch whereas 3, O2 and Vodaphone do. I think it’s coming to EE sometime in the future.

Picked the phone up on launch day and have been on holiday since so only general browsing of the forums.

I like the AOD. Like the DI, looking to see what else i use it for when I get into day to day usage. Have taken some images in 48MP RAW but want to get them into LR to see what they are really like.
All in all, I like it so far

I'd be careful if you aren't really clear about your needs. I've been on Three since my 4S, so about 11 years, but that ends in less than 48hrs when my number is ported to EE. Despite horror stories of colleagues being banned from using them on-call due to their unreliability they were great for years, but recently all I have experienced is "We are upgrading/servicing equipment in your local area" messages or going into busy areas and having signal show, but the data speeds either non-existent or dialup at best.

I recently moved to EE from Three after being with them for a long time. I didn't really have any issues, but I wanted a better 5G experience, and EE have a much better network around Newcastle, and my 5G speeds are amazing.

Yeah fair enough. I’m in the Peak District and work in Manchester and get great coverage including 5G. Based on your experience you’ll be better off with EE for sure!

I used my 13 Pro Max naked for the last 4 months or so and it was so much better than using a case. Once you get used to it it's hard to go back. I currently have a case but keep taking it off...I have a screen protector off and AC+.
Yep, although I just started putting a case on as I plan to return the Pro and get a Pro Max instead

Much prefer it bare-back

Yep rocked my 13PM naked and now rocking the 14PM naked too. But I am using a screen protector because I'm not a psychopath...
