What model are you getting?

Hi guys just to update - managed to find a pro max yesterday so exchanged phones and all working good now! Big tip - so even though the stock refreshes at 6am it’s not when you’ll see reservations. As each iPhone is scanned in, the stock appears on the reservation site- literally to the second. Depending on store opening times, they scan them in anywhere from around 7:30am-10am. I sat for 45 minutes at 8am refreshing the page every second, found one, reserved it. Then it disappeared for reservation- so there was literally only 1. I saw models being scanned in and disappearing less than 1 minute later- a lot of people seem to be doing this. They get stock basically every day- just hardly any- you have to be quick and committed for a couple hours one morning and you can get one same day. Easiest way to reserve is in the app as you’re already signed in - pick the model (pro/pro max) then the colour and just keep tapping between capacities to refresh the stock for the model you want (eg if you want 256gb tap 128gb then 256gb repetitively to refresh the 256gb every second) whack on something in the background on the tv and just go for it. It may seem sad but they’re not as impossible to get as made out to be!! Good luck all!!
This is great advice and explains why these currently rare PM’s pop up randomly during the day. Constant refreshing is tedious to say the least but you’ll get a thrill when the one you want appears suddenly! You’ve got to be quick!

If only…

Why's it say £71? Mine's £54

Anyone with a AW Ultra, you guys using a screen protector of any form on it?

Reluctant and not sure there is a need given the saphire crystal in place, but making sure I am not missing something....

Now, Belfast have Silver PM. Do I swap for the SB one I have as that is the colour I wanted? It is on BPF though so how does it work if I return this one?

I've... reserved a 256GB SB 14PM at Trafford Centre for collection tonight 🫣

Part of me's been missing the big screen factor and killer battery life so I'm going to see how it is to live with for 24 hours, I'll probably end up returning my Pro tomorrow.

Could anyone explain how reserving it on iUP works, I plan on purchasing the phone outright, can I do this when I go to pick the phone up or do I have to commit to the monthly payments?

It also seems to have different stock to the normal purchase method, so does iUP get the stock first or does it have its own special stock?

I don’t have an Ultra (yet 😂) but I’ve had 3 Stainless Steel Apple Watches over the last 4 years (series 4, 5 and 7). I deliberately chose the SS models for the Sapphire Chrystal glass. They are very hardy and despite knocking them on all sorts of surfaces I’ve never picked up a single scratch. If only iPhone screens were as good.

Definitely feeling this

Was easier to get when they were released!!
Why are people doing this? Even now I am almost on a daily basis able to find a version of the Apple Pro(or max) with a few compramises. today is gotta be 1Tb in gold for example!

While I am at the 10 questions, anyone using the Apple leather loop? Wonder what their thoughts are on the fit and feel of it are...

Got my money through from MusicMagpie today (a little bit of to-ing and fro-ing with them over the order and inability to log into account) but ultimately got the full amount I secured on 29 August with the UPGRADE code so am happy. £585 for a 128gb 12 PM.

Ooh thanks, it does look nice however I am a clear phone case kind of lady, have been for a long time now. I just find silicones a tad too bulky for my liking 😅
I usually go clear too but the caseology isn't bulky. Am undecided if I'll keep as not such a good partner to the gold PM. Thankfully it is in cardboard box packaging that allows you to have a look and still return if unsuitable - not like those where you need to rip a plastic packet.

Cos their scumbags! I did read this and think I should have kept the spare 2 PM's I ordered but morally I couldn't do that. I recall seeing a couple in the Edinburgh store a couple of year back with a big bag - they had back to back reservations it seemed and were buying up loads. I don't think they were buying for their family............

I had that ordered on my original S8 graphite order... I previously had the leather link (the older one which looped back on itself) and loved that due to ease of putting on.

the new leather link (the bands overlap) felt like a faff to put on and tighten...took a little while to get a tight fit on it.

I did only have a few goes at it before I sent it back for the Hermes.

worth going into store and trying!

I have quite a few dive watches with sapphire crystals and have never managed to scratch one. Bashed the cases against rocks and scratched up the stainless steel but the crystals have always been fine.

I am not going to worry when my Ultra arrives.

I did this exactly. Reserving on the iUP is the fastest way to secure your iPhone, since you only have to confirm your phone number and choose a pickup time. Make sure you’re doing it in the app so you’ll be logged in. If you do it on the website you’ll need to login then do the rest and those 30 seconds can be the difference between getting an iPhone and not getting one. Once in store and they bring it out just say you want to buy it outright and they will do that instead, you also have the option of choosing the other monthly payments solution, or going for the iUP as reserved. If the credit vet fails, you can still pay for the phone outright.

A cautionary tale for users of MusicMagpie’s SMARTDrop kiosk.

I obtained a valuation for an immaculate 12 Pro Max 256 back in August. They quoted £627.10 including the Upgade22 bonus which was excellent for a 2 year old phone. I saved the valuation 3 times before moving it to my basket and completing checkout on Monday.

Later that day I headed to my nearest Asda and put the phone in the kiosk having made sure it was totally clean. After 15 minutes I got the message that it was having difficulty assessing the phone and that I should try again. I re-started the process again and waited. 15 minutes later a message came up saying that they were unable to pay the quoted amount because the condition of the phone was poor. Instead of £627.10 they could only offer £378.30. I rejected the revised offer and took my phone back.

Yesterday I decided to try a different kiosk. This time, in less than 10 minutes the machine assessed the condition as “Good” and agreed to pay the full amount of £627.10. Within 10 minutes the full amount was paid into my bank account.

Make of that what you will!

Also another tip which I forgot to add. At close of business any reservations that were not collected that day get cancelled. And the stock is released again. So always check around the time of the Apple Stores closing as well!

seems to be the quality of the machines is causing problems to achieve an accurate assessment on condition. someone had similar issues and they'd seen marks on the camera area inside the kiosk. they had repositioned their phone in the machine and then it had all scanned perfectly.
