makes sense of apple stopping this for 'scalping'.. not that we are here!

I'm planning on sticking with the max this year regardless now, I know apple with go and do something silly like differentiating (again) the pro and pro max next year..

But not when the max next year will be an "Ultra" :O
 
I thought the whole idea of the Dynamic Island was to hide the camera and/or have the Island blend into the interface a little better but it appears now in iOS 16.1 Beta, the Island will actually stand out even more:

tricky to see the island if its merged into the background!

unless you take it out into direct sunlight and then you see it in all its "glory"

It’s so hit and miss when it appears. I can’t replicate it using the instructions they state but then at random times it has a bold border which is quite counter productive of the idea of the DI to hide the hardware elements.

Magsafe Charger has had a firmware update...... (not a joke)

Just found that my case doesn't register when I am connected to magsafe. I have an ESR Halolock Magsafe compatible clear case. As it isn't fully MagSafe the phone doesn't think it is connected to MagSafe and thus doesn't update the firmware.

To check if your phone is connected to MagSafe directly go to Settings > General > About and underneath the Wifi and Bluetooth address it should sho Apple MagSafe Charger which you can click on and see the firmware information - the update should take it to 256.0.0.0 apparently.

otherwise its the IUP pages on apple.com or their app: https://www.apple.com/uk/shop/iphone/iphone-upgrade-program - this would let you reserve available stock* as IUP (so no money down when reserved). you can then change your payment method to what ever you want when in store.

other option is the standard apple ordering pages on apple.com or app.


* with the IUP pages, you will need to refresh the page on the website for it to show updates. if you look at IUP via the apple store app, just by clicking around and chaining colour/model etc, it will refresh and show stock.

Just to double check I'm not being stupid but the apple store will take cash?
