No restock today at Apple Stores?

So now let me have a laugh, what’s the trick to reserve via iUP, keep refreshing the app all day long like a robot?

14PM 1TB Silver at Milton Keynes….handed over by the guy who’s leaked the 15 release day. Lol

Isn't this all pointless though?

You're all paying £ (even if it is small) just so you can watch vids in 4K (for the record, my standard You Tube free account is still able to play back in 4K)..?!??

Even if the price was just 5p - I certainly wouldn't pay it just for this privilege.......

Do you go out a lot without your phone and watch only? I only bought it for running so I have it in case of emergencies really. Probably wouldn’t bother otherwise.
Edit: Talking about cellular, not the ultra!
At the moment, I never go out without my phone. Not sure if I would change that if I had a cellular contract

Bit of an urgent query -

Is there any shop in UK selling an unlocked 14 Pro 128GB (any color but ideally purple)? I wanna buy one for my sister for her birthday next week but I can’t seem to find one in stock

I forgot to update but I got one from Mobiles.co.uk on Sunday (ordered on Saturday). They had lots of stock so I got the 128GB Purple!

Have a look back a few pages mate. It was probably addressed on every page for a while how to do it as everyone was on it.

iOS Apple Store app for iUP checking.
Choose iUP at the top of the app choose model then choose check another store then just keep changing model to refresh and go back to the model you want every other one. And eventually you get lucky.

Store stock use the inventory checker MacOS app to check stock in your preferred models and store and set up Hermes notifications for the notifications to be pushed to your iOS device.

Anyone not on the 14 bandwagon and rocking something 12 and older. I can see on the Amazon prime early access they’ve got 7-8% off iPhone 13 pros and even 15% off a 13 pro gold 512

Apple, but it’s going back. Don’t like the throttling it makes the phone extremely hot so I’m going to stick to old fashioned lightning charging

I bought that one from when it initially got released but the cable is only 1m long and you can’t switch it out. It was too short for my purposes. Other than that it seem to work fine. You might want to try one of the Belkin ones. I think they make one just for the phone which might be better. I’m not sure but I don’t think Anker might have one too. Both brands have a great reputation.

I was the same - tried the Apple Magsafe charger and didn't like how hot it made the phone. Ended up selling it on and use a cable with 20w charger instead - although it's faster and still warms the handset a little, I feel it's not nearly as hot.
A year later with my 13PM and battery health is still at 100% too (I use the 20/80 charge rule!)

What's the 20/80 charge rule?

Never understand this. My phone is charged wherever whenever. Boiling hot and freezing cold. Overnight, the lot.

99% health when I sold it. Surely if it was that critical apple would software restrict it?
Same.

I charged my 12 and 13 Pros to 100% every night.

The 12 pro I sold a year after use with 99% battery and the 13 pro after 7 months with 100%.

No need to baby these phones as much as people think, especially as ultimately, you'll be selling it anyway and as long as battery health is above 90% it doesnt really affect value

I bought one of these Stouchi docks for my MagSafe charger cable. The aluminium really does dissipate the heat. Even when it’s been on charge for ages it feels cool to the touch.

Just a heads up that the inventory check app only checks the "normal" stock not the iUP stock.

I reckon the best bet is Saturday morning (8am ish?) checking the iUP stock on the app/website as the last couple of weekends all the stores seem to get a large stock update then. Otherwise you're mostly reliant on the odd phone appearing in stock at random times. That's how I got mine anyway.

Perhaps charging the battery every night, when it doesn't actually need charging, has an adverse effect on it then ?

My 13 Pro is still on 100% and I have never charged it every night - I only ever charge when it actually requires charging be it day or night (I have always only charged it once it drops to less than 30%).

It always needed charging by the end of the evening for me and it’s also my alarm so it wasn’t ever really a problem. I don’t actually have any battery problems just to make it clear :)

What's the 20/80 charge rule?

When the battery gets down to around 20% I put it on charge.
When it charges to around 80% I remove it from charging.

Every so often I calibrate by topping up to 100%, but I never let it sit on the charger at 100% for a long period of time, then let the battery go right down to almost empty, before charging again.
Or if I know I will not be near a charging point for a longer period of time than usual, I top up to 100% - but again, never let it sit on teh charger at 100% for too long.

May be a bit OTT, but since doing this my batteries last much longer with good health.
