Good to see the new beta let’s you turn off the background on AOD
Literally came here to discuss this!

I so very rarely do this but I've just submitted feedback to Apple to make the AOD darker or to at least add an option where it only shows clock and widgets and no wallpaper. I'm sure I'm not the first to do this, nor the last, so hopefully Apple will at least explore it.
You’re all very welcome for my efforts 😂

Indeed, I can't wait, because as it is, I couldn't get used to it, I don't mind having the notification on, but the wallpaper, I would rather have it off and have a completely blank wallpaper.

Imagine some minimal battery improvements too from having it turned off
Honestly, I only managed to go through with AOD for about a day and turned it off, it was uncomfortable, my anxiety level was too high, and kept thinking the screen was on when it was not... lol

Jinjin, iFone88, fat jez, and Kiimora I'm currently on EE sim only deal which runs out on 19/11/22. Been with EE for a number of years. Current deal is £20 (£25 less 20% discount) for 200GB and Apple Music for 2 years. Been on the phone to EE and was told this deal will continue as is after 19/11/22 i.e will still get 20% discount and Apple Music. Current cost after 2 CPI increases is £22.83. If this is true I'll not be upgrading but will wait and see!

I have been meaning to find & switch mobile provider for a long time, I have been with Three for over 10yrs, and the only reason I keep sticking with them, is how cheap my contract is (I have 4 lines, Me, my Wife & both my parents), I am paying £18 for unlimited everything, I mean side from poor reception in some areas, its works, but regardless, I still want to switch, but who has similar offer? none from what I can see.

Ah i am gunning for the exact Apple Music deal and trying not to pay £10.99 😁. My current tariff with 20% perk was £16 unlimited everything 100GB which cunningly went up to £18 & a bit over 2 yrs, 🙄 yeah that’s EE for you!

Possibly Monday, for EE Black Friday deals, according to EE. Possibly, better deals on Black Friday itself! If my plan stays the same I'll just continue. One thing to bear in mind is the CPI increase next year which will be approx 10%.

Hey guys, off-topic, what ISP are you with what speeds and prices?

I just left VM after 10yrs+ having 1Gb up and stupid slow 50Mb for £64 copper, and switched to CommunityFiber this Saturday having 3Gbs up & down FTTP for 11 months free then £50 for the 2 years contract, once ends it's £99 or £109, unless I renew and goes down for the same price, good deal huh?

Although CF is doing some mad prices on their 1Gbs.

Zen Internet and have been for donkey's years too. G.Fast is as fast as I can currently get, so 330/50. £60 including phone line rental.

I'm champing at the bit for Openreach to get full fibre. I could go with Virgin Media, but previous experiences have scared me off. Plus Zen is just bullet proof reliable and their tech support people genuinely know more than me about broadband (and I've been in Telecoms and IT for 24 years).

My biggest reason for leaving VM was the upload speed and the price, I just can't deal with them anymore, CF actually gives me symmetrical speed, and I have enough overhead for other devices.

I suggest you wait for Openreach, VM will never give you a symmetrical speed even if they built FTTP in your area, not for many years from what I have been reading.

I'm keeping a close eye on the roadworks websites. Openreach have been doing plenty of duct clearance and repairs in my town, but still deny that they have any plans to upgrade me.

Ya, they did that in my area last year doing repairs in their poles, and then suddenly I get an email from CF in June that it's available (they use the Openreach network).

besides that, I am seeing G.Network starting to dig the nearby street (literally a street down from me) digging and connecting people, so probably by mid-next year, they'll be digging my street and surrounding streets.

Just glad I terminated my contract with VM.

Luckily get fttp with hyper optic (though it seems I can get other providers now too as open reach have done their thing)

Happy with what I have though

Very nice, I am waiting for my 2.5Gbs network card to arrive so I can fullish test my 3Gbs connection, sadly my onboard card only does 1Gbs, once the card arrives (hopefully today or tomorrow), I'll do a speed test and share the results

10Gbs card may be in the near future.

Here is my phone result

And this is from my PC... until I get the new network card and do another test.

Nice, I don’t get anywhere near that speed at the router on any of the devices. Tbh I should save some money and step down from the 1GB plan.. just not using it fully.

Eyeing up the orbi 6e mesh system to replace my nest set up but the price was eye watering before but looks like it’s had price increases to make it extortionate!

Hoping for some Black Friday deals

That should be true.

EE have told me in the past, if I don't want to renew my contract but stay on the same deal then don't renew and the plan you're on will stay in place on a rolling basis.

That's a bloody good deal you're on!

Another reason I might stick is that the plan includes EU roaming. If I change to a new tariff I’d have to get roaming add-ons when travelling
