Wow, that's almost a month delay jump, I hope you get it indeed before Christmas!

I honestly didn't think it would be this bad for those who already order, I just assumed those who'll be ordering by end of Nov, will get this massive delay and mostly the US regent will get the biggest impact, I guess not.

When did you order?

Possibly Monday, for EE Black Friday deals, according to EE. Possibly, better deals on Black Friday itself! If my plan stays the same I'll just continue. One thing to bear in mind is the CPI increase next year which will be approx 10%.

Based on the latest figure of 11.1% for CPI, with their 3.9% on top a customer opting for the £113/month tariff for iPhone 14 Pro Max 1TB will be looking at £129.95/month or £1,559.40/year 🥶.

I’m still waiting for this fibre to the premises to come to my area as I’m itching to get faster download and upload speeds but still no sign of it. I live in a suburb in London and I’m currently stuck with BT’s regular fibre which gives me around 65 down and around 18 up which is not fast enough for my needs. I thought about switching to Virgin Media but I’ve heard they’re not that great so I’m reluctant to do so. I’m just hoping the FTTP comes soon.

Please for the love of it, do not join VM, I have finally left them after 10yrs (as they were the only ones offering high-speed DL, but **** a$$ upload) I recently switch to CommunityFiber 3Gbs, and it's great, even their customer service is much more respectful and tech-savvy.

Stay as you are and wait for FTTP to start in your area.

Just renewed with VM, 500MB down and 36 up for £26 a month. Broadband only no line rental for 18 months. Pretty happy with that.
Nice deal, I was paying £64 for Gig1, I am guessing that's the best in your area you can get, or is there any isp in your area that offers fttp?

I was with VM for 18 months. When my deal was expiring end of this month I gave my notice in expecting retentions to give a me deal. This work’s every time.

They called me a day later and offered me the Volt500 which means I also get O2 Priority even though I am not an O2 customer.

I didn’t really push but I reckon I could have lowered that price.

I can get 1GB VM or 900mb through any open reach supplier here but it was overkill for me.. I was happy enough with 500mb.

Been with VM for 18 months now and can’t fault them for service, reliability or even customer service. Always get the advertised speeds

I have been with them for over 10yrs, and I think I have had enough of them, also they don't respect their long-time customers, I tried that tactic by saying I am leaving to see if they'll give me a reasonable offer, but they never do, maybe once they bumped my connection from 650M to the Gig1.

Also, for me, the upload has always been a nightmare, too slow, I do a lot of uploads related to work (I work from home mostly) and files can be massive and could take time to complete, it was worth the switch for me, also cheaper for higher speed package, plus the symmetric connection.

Hey guys, off-topic, what ISP are you with what speeds and prices?

I'm currently with BT on their Full Fibre 100 paying £38/month on a promotional deal that goes up to £44/month next year.

As soon as I can though, I'll be switching to Cuckoo's 115Mb full fibre plan - £39.99/month on either a 1 or 12-month contract. Signing up for 12 months removes the £60 setup fee. They're a relatively new broadband provider, but they seem to be doing it right.

I have never heard about them, you seem to have a positive experience with them so far, that's very good.

I live in the sticks so the best internet I could get was BT at a measly 1mb speed. At the start of the first lockdown I was able to connect to FTTP provided by a company called Gigaclear. Im on their 1Gb package and paying £59 a month and it’s awesome.

I’ve always been intrigued by the likes of Eero etc. but not sure why the benefits would be for me? Why would one install a mesh system like that over just the standard router that has come from my broadband supplier? (VM if it matters)

Main advantage for me is it lets me wire other devices in other parts of the house. I then just have the wireless back haul between access points. It also lets me get wireless access points nearer my Ring cameras.

Long term, I want to run cat6 around the house though and reduce the number of access points

I have been thinking about doing a retrofit cat6e access to each room in my place, I just haven't figured out how without going through the walls.
