What model are you getting?

Can anybody recommend a protective, high quality case with good grip for the 14 Pro Max? I am currently using the Mous Speckled Fabric case, but I want a change now

Ok .. it’s nearly June and I’m getting a little bit antsy! .. I want new Apple products please! Really hoping that the next watch upgrade will have the Ultra with a slightly smaller screen. It’s the battery life I want them to address .. it’s so annoying that on a full day my watch won’t last.
which size S8 watch do you have?

my 44mm Series 8 does't have a problem getting through the day.. pretty sure I could even get through the night but would probably be flat by the morning

Which network are you guys on? I just switched to Smarty with unlimited everything for £18 a month with no contract, which I'm pretty happy with. The only downside is that it is not the fastest in terms of data.

been with EE for a good while now but tempted to change... their prices just aren't competitive anymore.

have 2 lines on atm, so as soon as they are up for renewal I think I'll be ditching them. looking at Voxi and giffgaff will be the ones I look at later this year. I'll probably test them out with a monthly sim and see what the o2 and Vodafone network is like around me and on my commute... question if anyone knows.. can you get a esim pay monthly for either voxi or giffgaff? can then try it out in parallel with ee and not have the faff of switching numbers each time.

the other consideration was me taking BT Sport with ee as an add on. but given I was paying £5 a month for big screen.. I think I can move my two lines and still save enough to buy BT directly if I want. will be interesting to see if any of the deals change with their rebrand to TNT.

also noticed the BT Sport ultimate (4k) app on Apple TV is flakey af! lots of drop out and issues with HDR content.

I did a lot of research into this as I also wanted an eSIM. From what I can find, it seems like only the major networks offer eSIMs and only on-pay monthly contract plans. I think Lebara offer eSIMs, though, so there are some alternatives.

I went with Smarty in the end even though they don't offer eSIMs as I thought I could cancel in the future and move to Three if the next iPhone was eSIM only in the UK.

thanks.. saved me some googling!

might have to port each time and try out the networks for a month.

I have a quick iPhone 14 Pro question.

My daughter who lives in the US bought a iPhone 14 Pro on launch (in USA), she has now got a iPhone 14 Pro Max, so wants to give the 14 Pro to my other half when she comes over to stay next month. I know there is no SIM card slot, but can I activate an EE eSIM in a US phone?

It depends if the US iPhone is network locked or not. If it was bought directly from Apple, it won't be locked but if it was bought from a network it might be.

Thanks I think she got it from Apple and then the new one was ‘free’ when they changed their TV provider. I’ll check with her. I wasn’t sure if they were region locked or used different frequencies

Just checked with her, seems it is good to go :)

My storage went down when I moved to the 14 last year.. benefits of a clean install.

Still not used half the 256gb on it, but close enough not to get 128gb
I was considering maybe just going for 2TB iCloud storage this time and downgrading to base model but I’ll see I guess

I’m on the 2tb iCloud storage with a 128gb iPhone, it’s the perfect combination for me.

All my photos are in the cloud and all my music is from Apple Music, no real need to keep any of it locally.

Im currently in the UK using my USA 14 pro max. Im currently using a Vodafone PAYG esim via esim.net and my partner is using a Lycamobile eSim for her iPhone 14 PM.
This site has some good UK based information

Thanks. That is actually also useful for her. She comes here every year for a month and pays $5 a day for US -> UK roaming. May be worth her getting a PAYG eSIM for the duration.

ATM my wife has a physical SIM with EE, but I’ll get that changed to eSIM in prep for the circus coming to town later this month with the 14 Pro :)

For those that have the 14 Pro how bad is the battery life compared to the 14 Pro Max
I want to buy a present for my sister but not sure if I hearing the Pro Battery life is very bad...

Lyca not Lebara, unfortunately.

I had the pro and now the pro max. I would say generally you get about 2-3 hrs more medium use on screen. The pro should get most users through the day. The pro max will see you through to the next day.

So I am guessing the pro max you prefer?
The pro max is perfect apart from the size imo
it is uncomfortable to hold/
