What model are you getting?

Do you think we could see a 2TB model this year? 🤔. I know it is excessive especially with iCloud but I like to keep everything on my phone where possible

I love checking in on this thread. Very unlikely I'll get a 15, I picked up a new 14 Pro a few months ago out of necessity (my old 13 Mini was dead) but I like to see the excitement (I previously worked in Apple stores years and years ago in a past life, and was working there at Trafford for the very first launch and 3GS).

I remember launch day of the original iPhone in 2007, I queued up here in the UK and still remember the excitement now! £269 upfront and £35 a month on o2, those were the days 😂

I also remember it well. I still have my original iPhone with its box. That was an exciting time!

I had my original iPhone up until 2021 where I ended up selling it to a collector, it was still in great condition and managed to get a good price at the time. I wish I would have kept it now though 😂

Some of us have been here a long time, I remember posting in 2008 when I waited at O2 to upgrade to from the first iPhone to the 3G. Someone else who was in the line at our local O2 store was also on the forum. Good times!
I've been here since 2007, I actually bought the original iPhone from New York (locked to ATT) in September of that year before they went on sale in the UK in November with O2. I had to get it unlocked by jailbreaking, I think the app was called ibrickr.

I followed this up I believe 2 years later by buying the iPhone 3GS from Belgium on launch day (one day return on the Eurostar). At the time Belgium and Italy were the only two European countries that had local laws that made it mandatory for carriers to sell phones unlocked. It wasn't until the iPhone 4 that Apple officially started selling 'factory unlocked' sim-free iPhones which is when I hung up my travelling boots and bought my first UK iPhone. Good times🤣

That’s dedication!

I queued at O2 for the original iPhone and each year until the iPhone 4. In the years after that I did a mix of queuing at my local Apple Store or ordering online from Apple. From iPhone 6 onwards it’s always been online ordering direct from Apple.

I miss queuing at the Apple store, lots of fun and a Starbucks would bring us coffee early in the morning. I would join the queue about 10pm and was usually among the first 20 people in line.

I’ve bought the new iPhone every year apart from the 4S and 5 and only until the SE gen 1 and iPhone 7 did I start actually preordering. Before that I used to wait a month or 2 for the hyped to die down lol.

So, I am possibly thinking of going for a 15 pro max this year! I am away on the 22nd though, it's been planned for ages, so can't really cancel! So I was thinking, you can normally reserve an iphone from 6 in the morning on the apple store app, so I might just wake up early on the 25th, reserve one, and go and grab it from the store, because if I preordered one on the 15th, I don't know if i'd be able to change the delivery day once the orders gone through?

That totally depends on if they have stock but otherwise no reason it wouldn't work.
