By far and away the worst launch experience ever. I'm now looking at a 3-4 week wait because of that shipping page error on the app. I'll now lose out on my Music Magpie offer for my current phone, so this will end up costing me money instead of saving compared to my usual iPhone Upgrade Program. Serves me right for trying to be thrifty.

Got my order in, and paid via Apple pay, however about 15 mins later I get call from CC company, they had declined the transaction, and wanted me to confirm it was me. After doing that he said my card would work ok now.

After someone else mention about having to re-enter payment details I checked my order, and yes, there is a button to re-enter payment information, however I have been stuck on that for at least 30 mins. I enter my details, and then it goes to a new screen with "payment verification" and a spinning circle in a box, but then nothing happens. I have tried several times and with 2 different cards, but getting nowhere...... Will just have to keep trying, and hope my date of the 16th doesn't slip.

On another note, I went to order an apple case separately as I had a gift voucher to use (a £60 one). Did it on my pc, but after getting right to the end, I got an error page. Waited a while and didn't get email, so ordered again using app on phone, and this time it want through. However a little while later I got 2 emails, both conforming the order, and both for £59 and both using the £60 gift card. Assume at some point 1 will be canceled.
I had exactly the same...3 different cards...all the same, website kept hanging during payment. It eventually seemed to take, and i got an email notification from Apple to say i had changed payment method. No money taken yet though.

Thanks for responding! I am just at a loss of what to do now 🤷🏼‍♂️ I need a new phone, like many people I don't have £1500 in cash to drop on a new phone, but can easily afford the monthly payment several times over. Frustrating.
Amazon interest free payments??

This year I decided to use the financing, and they let me get pre-approved yesterday and save the pre-order so that it would just be a couple of clicks today.

After an hour of trying to get the pre-approved pre-order from yesterday to be completed, I gave up, started the order from scratch, was approved just as quickly and the order went straight through.

So something to remember for next time - don’t bother doing any of the steps ahead of time, it doesn’t help at all.

Anyway, at least it’s ordered, should arrive first week October

The Apple Store App was experiencing technical issues hence why most people (you included) had problems completing the pre-approved pre-order from yesterday.

It does actually help as normally, you'll get your order in right away with a one week delivery/pick up slot. The issues in the app is what has caused your delivery to slip to October instead of next week.

what's the consensus for screen protectors this year? I'll be honest and not paid much attention to all the different ones people have mentioned.

a new poll maybe?
Last year I went for the ESR Armorite. Trying out the Spigen AlignMaser this time. If it’s not good I will go back to ESR. Just wanted to see what another brand is like.

I had the same gift card balance tagged as part payment on all my 3 pre orders but when I checked out on 2nd and 3rd I removed it so there wouldn't be any issues.
Now showing as 'update your payment details' on the second accidental order, but I can't cancel it. I suppose if i leave it there it will eventually be cancelled. I only wanted one phone.

By the way, be **very** careful those of you signing up for phone planes in the UK. Most of the them are RPI inflation linked +3.9%, meaning based on current forecasts, your monthly charge may go up by 12-14% early next year. Something to keep in mind when factoring in the costs.

I just looked on some EE plans with a 20% Perks code (sorry I've actually given the rest away to family before anyone asks!) and can't really see a suitable deal that compares to just buying the phone from Apple and then a SIM only plan, guess they're not a charity!

Went into the phone app, popped up with “complete your pre-order”, clicked check out and done, seconds after the app opened.

Also did upgrade.

2x Pro Max Deep Purple 256 for 16th

Yeah similar here. Credit scores all near max, no debt apart from 2 monthly payments left on my previous iPhone with Barclays, professional, never missed a payment, over 10 years at current address, never been declined for credit before. I even have a large unused credit limit on my Barclaycard so it's not like they don't know me. Weird.
Probably the fact you have £25k you are not using.....

Wonder if anyone knows the answer:
I've pre ordered today and got a pickup date of 03OCT - 10OCT. I am away from the UK and will pop over to collect the phone, question is, how accurate are Apple's pickup dates as I need to book a flight to correspond with 10 October (thinking of booking the 13th) but if Apple changes the date to be earlier than 03Oct or later than 10Oct, I'll lose my flight ticket.

Can anyone help?

Bit of a mixed bag this year. For anyone still looking for launch - Amazon have stock right now.

My pre pre order went through but didn’t let me choose pickup as when I selected a time it said this option is not available with an error message, switched back to delivery and thankfully went through for launch iP14P DP 256gb.

Then tried the air pods 2 3 times with the same Amex which said error and then used Apple Pay with amex that went through also for launch.

So not as smooth as other years but managed to secure the launch dates.

Good luck to those who are still looking to secure launch day phones.

JL have them up as listed but will open on the 16th.

Last year’s will fit this years regular 14s. There’s a redesign this year for the Pros. Slimmer bezels and the earpiece cutout is wider

...have you not been using the re-locking hack on MM to keep the price locked in for longer (you'll have to look at the iPhone 13 thread for details of how to do it) ?

I'd go Spigen or Belkin personally. I use the Belkin ones, more expensive but they've always been good quality, no touchscreen issues and easy to fit.

Email confirmation received while I was on the phone.

Cracking deal. I did it via the app. 20% discount helps!

EE's plans seem horribly expensive, I'm definitely glad I've gone via Apple and applied my 20% discount to one of their SIM only plans.

Like-for-like with what I have (Pro 256gb via Apple, Essential SIM 125GB) - going separate works out £3pm cheaper from the outset after the full 20% discount is applied to the phone contract, and that's even before what will probably be a monstrous increase in April!

I don't suppose you have option to extend MM due date? I haven't checked out yet my MM trade in quote is still saved already extended it by 14 days and have another 12 to check out. Am leaving it to closer to next Friday to do so.

apple have history in delivering sooner rather than later... there is a chance estimated windows can draw closer as they start processing and shipping orders...

did you do a store pick up? if so, they would likely hold it for you there... with home delivery, you are then at the mercy of the courier... some will attempt a number of times and then either wait for you to arrange a date or return to sender

You can hold your delivery with the company they use to send it. It is usually DHL or DPD.

If I remember correctly if you order from Amazon they didn’t actually ship the phones until the launch day.
