Best advice is to stay on the stable public release (so 11.0.3) and restore your backup from there. Will be zero compatibility issues going up.

I’d imagine the iPhone X will ship with 11.1, but nobody other than Apple knows at this point. Stay on 11.0.3 if you haven’t already upgraded. Worst case is you’ll have to update your X to pre-release software.

Yea, I'm not using Beta software on my phone, I was just worried that an old backup might not be compatible with newer software. But Vundu has replied to me to let me know that restoring from an older iOS is ok.

If 11.1 is released today/later this week, I will probably update and then I might have to update the X before restoring.

Thanks for getting back to me!

Anyone who had their case dispatched Sunday, anyone's tracking number actually working? Mine says not valid.
If that is with Royal Mail - forget the tracking. It's woeful. You get a message saying it's been delivered and thats it. The site has now the 'click the roadsigns' thing which stops plugins calling for the tracking number.

it relies on the local post office/sorting office marking the package in and out which they usually forget to do. Worst tracking ever.

Not to mention it's now got a Capcha - so annoying.

Given 11.2 just went into beta, 11.1 must be released today or tomorrow. So if the last 11.1 beta was a GM (which would make sense) it's possible they got that onto them.

I reckon you are correct.

The last beta build was 15B93 which would indicate it is the final release. I’m skipping 11.2 beta 1 for now as some of the known issues I don’t want to experience. Also I want to restore the X with a fully released OS without having to setup, install profile, upgrade, erase then restore.

Yeah. That’s what I meant by ‘click the roadsigns’

Will there be store pick up after the lunch day?
I have lunch most days.

Just noticed your username is really similar to mine. Spooky!

What do people who have experience with o2 think about this?

My click and collect upgrade is on up to 3 weeks, if my local store has walk-in stock on Friday, surely they can just give me one there to fulfil my order?

Might be if you’re really early but I would say chances are very slim. Where did you get your expected date from?

Wireless chargers seem a bit of a minefield. Most of the cheaper ones don't come with the AC adapter, and many talk about fast charging only when paired with the fast AC charger and start using acronyms from the Samsung/android world. So I don’t know if they’ll fast charge with Iphone (made more complicated by 'fast' being only 7.5w on Iphone when android is often 10 or even 15w)

Just want one that will work at 5 & 7.5w ideally with the ac adapter or a link to an adapter that will work well

If you want one which is guaranteed to work at 7.5w then I would go for either the Belkin or Mophie wireless chargers.

Someone did some testing with the iPhone 8/8+ and a few Qi chargers - appears they don't charge any faster on the 7.5w chargers than the 5w chargers. The X will likely be the same.
You should try to get one with 3 coils so that placement isn't very particular.

Apple said 7.5w support was to come via a software update later, so buying today and getting 7.5w support is difficult.

I just bought a cheap spigen one as the similar priced anker one was out of stock.

But that is because the iPhones won’t support 7.5W until a software update coming “later this year”.

Beat me to it.

Was this test conducted on the iOS version which enables faster wireless charging? i.e. 7.5w opposed to the standard 5w?

That's good to know. I have one of each. I'll make sure the 7.5w one gets put in the car. :) (the phone can take it's time charging overnight on my bedside table).

Edit: Well, what do you know - they've come out with a 10W charger as well:

And you'll need a higher amperage USB port to drive that....2.4A should do it:

My tracking number is now actually working, was sent Royal Mail 24, so should arrive a day early. The 31st instead of the 1st.

I’d check your orders people.

A friend of mine’s order page has just gone from preparing for depatch to awaiting payment. He ordered as soon as the system went live and has a NOV 3 delivery.

The Apple web page tells him to update his payment method because payment has failed. He does that and it still fails. He calls his bank and they say his account is fine. I’ve even used 2 of my cards and they fail too.

He called Apple and to the quote the assistant “I’m surprised you got though. We are receiving thousands of calls just like this”. They say they have a problem with Apple Pay.

He’s with the Halifax if that makes any difference.

The iPhone X won't charge at 10W though will it? Thought was only 7.5W and that's with a software update to come.

I also want a 7.5W, with an adapter. If get one for car can it be plugged into a USB and still charge at its max rate?

This has been an issue since Friday.

Ah I have a dual now came with dashcam, is there a specific car wireless charger, be handy if could put in a semi permanent place to charge
Well, you need to look at that charger's specs - not all are created equal. Some only supply 1A. Some even less (had an old BlackBerry one that supplied 750mA). The one I provided in the amazon.ca link has two 2.4A USB ports. The Choetech Qi chargers are available in several countries (including the UK).
