My Apple leather case has also arrived. I think it looks very nice - the buttons are plastic rather than leather covered. The plastic buttons feel and look better IMHO. The pic includes my Apple iPhone 6S case for comparison.

The buttons are metal I think. There were metal on my iPhone 7+ leather case too.

I want to do the same when I receive the iPhone X setting everything as new.

But how do you transfer your Contacts, SMS and whatsapp?

The important one is Contacts. I have multiple phone numbers per contact. Will be easy to transfer?
Contacts and WhatsApp would be using iCloud for data unless you have that disabled. I don't think Apple have released the iMessages in iCloud it touted in iOS 11. I think you'd lose these if setting and new in this case.

Europe thread; and I know Europe is a bad word to some, claim from ‘inside sources’ we could see date movement in the 13/20th range today.

Could be a token comment as we could any day, but eyes peeled
spoke to Apple just there, they guaranteed me there wont be any changes in dates, sorry to burst the bubble

Guys there seems to be some confusion over instore pickup and charging of your card.

If you put the phone in your basket and did check out and choose a store for pickup then you will be charged in full before Friday.

If you did instore pickup through the upgrade program then you are not charged or sent any more emails and you physically go into the store on Friday and then either pay in full in cash or do one of the Apple payment plans (either with AppleCare and Upgrade or the plan without).

So the orders that are cancelled or not paid for in the 3/11 batch will disintegrate?

I haven't read of any UK folk get a date change. I'm hoping the factory will have a cargo ship set sail which would give a lot of owners an earlier shipping date. Our US friends have had a lot of date changes so far.

Mine is coming trough postal. Was yours postal that came thoifh letterbox. As said royal mail 24 but I’m not homE. So can’t sign
You can find out from the tracking. If it just says "Royal Mail Tracked" then it won't need to be signed for, they just scan on delivery.

Mine was just tracked :)

Reading The Verge's review..my only concerns are the inconsistent Face ID in some lighting conditions and the videos being smaller. Hopefully the former can be improved with software updates and the latter...well depends on developers.
I think most of us accept that Face ID is first gen tech.. similar to the first Touch ID on the 5S.. that was not perfect and it took iterative refinements to get it to what it is (was) today.
It’s mentioned in the FaceID documentation that the neural networks used can be updated through software updates, so hopefully the accuracy and concistency can be refined later on.

Edit: Added screenshot of this.

its not the most straight forward process. I've a small nodeJS app which hooks into maligun, twilio and pushbullet to do the notifications. i'm running the app out of a Pass cloud provider to save me running it local.

if you're competent with any of that I can try clean up my code to make it more usable when I get a chance. But again, if you're competent with any of that, then you probably know how to right a bit of code to do it anyway :)

I’m actually learning Java at the moment alongside my degree but sadly know that’s beyond my ability now - thanks though, if I had a computer to hand I’d look all this up

All third party tools/services. Just the code for integration.
