Guys there seems to be some confusion over instore pickup and charging of your card.

If you put the phone in your basket and did check out and choose a store for pickup then you will be charged in full before Friday.

If you did instore pickup through the upgrade program then you are not charged or sent any more emails and you physically go into the store on Friday and then either pay in full in cash or do one of the Apple payment plans (either with AppleCare and Upgrade or the plan without).

I paid in full and it is still showing as pending from my bank, so available balance has gone down but it still hasn’t physically come out yet.

Belkin screen protector arrived. Looks like a pretty cool contraption

nice.. how much did you pay for it? On a separate note, the embargo's have been lifted. Quite like The Verge and iMore's review. Tech Crunch's too provides a nice overview.

This is the one directly from Apple at 19.95. For some reason this is priced at the same level as Belkin’s anti glare offering also available from Apple. There’s a 2X price differential in the US but looks to have been mispriced here

Interesting... I bought an anker for £5.99 and comes with 2 screens... Used to have the Belkin's on my previous phones but lets see how this holds up.

All third party tools/services. Just the code for integration.
yup, all the code does is grab the html from the order status page and uses a jquery library to pull out the appropriate element and compare to a previous state. all those services mentioned have great documentation on integrating to their APIs.

if I get a chance I'll clean it up and share

Don’t know why everyone is bashing the app? I had both open and the store in the app came online much sooner (at least 5 mins) than the store on my MacBook Pro. My Friday 3rd delivery confirmation email landed in my mailbox at 8:02am after ordering with the iPhone app.

Not sure how they brought the store online but it was not just a global on switch and they must have allocated positions so not to bring the store down. Which came online first for you was just pot luck.

How can I not criticise the app when it was saying it wasn’t available for over twenty minutes.

For anyone who was wondering about trying to go for your in store reservation slot early, I popped in when I was passing today and was told that I’d need to stick to my slot. Though maybe that's just them discouraging me from actually doing it rather than the reality of what would happen if I actually *did* turn up early.

My case just came and wow! It's not that much bigger than an iPhone 6! Feels like a perfect size for me as I thought the plus was a bit too big. Also Mophie wireless charger that I ordered less than 24 hours ago has arrived! I'm ready to go now:)

Hey everyone, I just received a phone call from Apple. They needed to verify my shipping address as I have a house name and no number and he didn't want my launch day delivery to be delayed by the carrier. So anyone with a similar address may get a call too - it was an Irish number.

We had a quick chat about the craziness on pre-order day and he confirmed that Apple usually use DPD for deliveries, but ocassionally UK Mail or UPS. So those of you hoping for DPD, looks like that's who you'll probably get. :D

Feeling mega excited now as it appears Apple are passing details to couriers! :D :D

Ooh so is this more than just a protector in a pack? Does it come with some sort of device to apply it also?
Yeah. I’d best describe it as a ‘cradle’ of sorts. Essentially a home version of the in store devices. Looks really well put together and the protector is pre-attached to the mould. Will see how well centred the iPhone looks before committing to the DIY application

Same here, in the Apple App it shows as Despatched, expect delivery 15th November, however, I am now holding in my hand, wonder if they have screwed up the pricing, the same item from Belkin is £25.99.

I also have the Spigen 2x 9H Screen protector from Amazon for £6.99 but think I will stick with the Belkin. The applicator looks pretty cool. The video for seeing how it is applied is here http://www.belkin.com/how2easyalign

Yeah they’ve definitely screwed up the pricing. It’s $39.95 in the US for the Ultra and $19.95 for the Anti-Glare. Since when has the US been more expensive for Apple products than UK?! ;)

Hi, I ordered my iPhone X Silver 256GB through IUP (existing one) .. I place my order as far the apple store app was up, that means, I placed at 08:06 and I got 17Nov to pickup from store (Solihull). I wonder if someone was lucky from IUP to pickup in store that specific model on launch day.

I though it could be any updated in the estimation day, like in US but not at all so far :-(

Thanks

I ordered the Anti Glare Belkin from Apple store as with my previous iPhone and will get Apple to Put it on with their Apple's ScreenCare+ application system, According to MacRumors the antiglare one is the only one apple will put on for you with their machine.

IUP is different in the UK. You have to reserve online through the IUP pages, go to the store in your slot and go through a credit check while you are there (even if you already are an IUP customer and you just want to upgrade). All customers who managed to reserve one in the UK, have a slot for 03/11. Additional, (limited) stock will show up every day thereafter at 06:00 and will update throughout the day.

The reservation process is done through the IUP pages only. It is not a purchase and in-store pick up, where you just tell them you want the IUP instead. And there is no credit check done while reserving, that happens at the store.

That's interesting there are no shipping between 4/11 and 13/11. We can be hopeful there is which means a shift in delivery dates!
Our friends in the US are starting to see 17-24 dates get bumped up but they are assigned to carriers.
For direct orders in the uk from the apple store, I cant possibly imagine that we will have no progress next week for 13-20 dates. I would hope for statuses to change to PFD in the next 72 hours.
