Haven't had a screen protector on my phones since the 3GS... really not wanting to obscure the X's screen! I'll be interested to hear how it looks once it's on.

great thanks, be good to see some real world installs from an angle to see how it actually looks, especially as swiping up from the bottom will mean going over the 'lip' every time, but hopefully it'll be ok in use
Yeah i dont do screen protectors on things. I keep my phone in my jeans (without coins or keys!). I also prefer to keep it in a case with a lip so if you ever put it on a table upside down the screen doesnt touch the surface.

Same here. I have ordered 2, but not sure if I will put them one. All my phones have been in top notch condition, even without a screen protector.
I had the matte black iPhone 7 plus and so I ordered the silver iPhone X because I thought that if I got the space grey iPhone X (basically black) then it would feel the same as my iPhone 7 plus. However the annoying thing about the silver iPhone X is that the back is white ish? I feel like in some ways the black looks more sleek but with silver iphone X the mirror reflective bezel looks really nice. I've got both colours reserved - which should I get?

Generally don’t go down the route of a screen protector either but this time around I’m a little paranoid. Have seen evidence online and real world (friends 8 plus) that exhibits some issues with micro-scratches (supposedly without major trauma) May well be over cautious but we’ll see

Yes ordered as soon as they were available at risk of Apple spotting a pricing error on Friday. Original delivery date I had was 1st Nov

Fair enough that some people feel the need for screen protectors, but I feel it diminishes the experience unless immaculately installed.
Display scratches have never been an issue on any of my old iPhones, all used naked front and back, all sold on for decent prices second hand. I'm not a desk jockey either.
I'm really not the person to comment when it comes to colours, but I've been into the Apple store a couple of times to look at the colours on the 8. From reading on here, lots of people seem to like the silver, but I thought it looked like an off white colour which I really didn't like at all. I think the space grey looks pretty good.
Having said that, I wouldn't take colour choice advice from me.

Hi, thanks for your comments. I know how it works the IUP program in the UK, in fact I already done the whole process, but for me it's weird in regards I got iPhone X to pickup next 18th November when literally I placed the order 30 seconds later than the IUP page was up (it was down until 08:05 or 08:06 at least) .. I suppose it will depend different factors, and maybe the main one is the Apple store, I suppose in London they will have more stock, but in Birmingham area both stores (Solihull and Birmingham first date available was 18th November). I'm worried to pickup the phone so late not because I would like to have it from the day one, it's more because my monthly payment for the IUP program is 8th of each month, therefore I will have to pay and additional month, otherwise if would be able to pickup in store before 8th November I will save one month (I already paid 12 months). I already talk to Apple support and they will not refund that extra month.
Also, in regards to stock available for each store after 06:00 I know but once you have made your reservation you will not able to make another one unless you cancel your existing one.
I will cross my fingers to expect some improvements from apple to pickup the phone.

Watching the reviews, I'm glad I changed my mind at the last minute and went with Space Grey. I did this because I know from the Apple Watch that polished stainless steel scratches so easily. It can be buffed out of course, but I don't have time for that...

They also have a screen defect to the right of the notch. They didn't mention it but they must have noticed it. If mine has that I will not be happy!

This isn’t quite accurate. When reserving for upgrade it was necessary to choose both a time slot AND a date. I’m away on the Friday so I chose a slot on the Saturday. When the app went live for me, at 8:02, all slots were available on the Friday and the Saturday (and presumably on the days to follow).
I'm right now in shock to be honest, I was ready with my iphone and ipad an I wasn't unable to access until 08:06 ... but I can't see there are people who was able to access the IUP pages in the apple store application at 08:02 :-(
That scratch would require a huge amount of buffing as it looks quite deep. Yeah screen defect looks bad. I would hate to have first day issues and have to wait 6 weeks for a replacement

Apple should have warranty replacements either in store or at their distribution centres. You don't need a replacement retail kit, you would just need the phone replaced.
I couldn't get through to the iUP page on my iPad until 8:07, by then no London stores (or my 10 nearest at least) had 256GB SG available and I had to go for 64GB
