How far is everyone from there local TNT/UPS/UK Mail depot ?

I checked the postcode for my local UK Mail, it started with LE4. My postcode starts with LE8, so i assumed it was only a few miles away and i'd be one of the first few deliveries.

Turns out its LE4 on the other side of Leicester :( 12 miles away, and 300,000 people to potentially deliver too between me and them. Somehow i think i will be towards the end of the day :p

~10 miles.

My nearest UPS depot:

UPS Customer Centre
UPS CUSTOMER CENTRE-TAMWORTH
JIM CASEY WAY
BIRCH COPPICE BUSINESS PARK
TAMWORTH, B78 1BF

No wonder it's not moved!

Haahaha!

I'm in Belfast and in the same position. It's inexcusable. Amazon one-day delivery can get here with no problems; Royal Mail can manage it too. But UPS can't?

I plan to keep a close eye on the UPS tracker tomorrow - if it gets as far as their depot in Mallusk, it'll stay there until Monday. If that happens, you can phone and ask to pick it up. They're open till 8pm. I did it not long ago when my Macbook Air arrived in NI on a Friday afternoon, and therefore too late for delivery on the day. They were fine with it - you just phone, quote your tracking number (the long UPS one), ask them to hold it for pick up, and bring some ID with you when you go.

Other folks with a Monday scheduled delivery could probably do the same if they see the package scanned in at their local depot..

I'm just outside Belfast but mine was sent via TNT?! How strange! Recon there's any hope for me for tomorrow? If not, I think I'll phone the centre and ask to come pick it up... I'm quite lucky, 10min drive from TNT centre! Don't want it sitting in the warehouse all weekend!!

About 9.2miles away. Hopefully when it loads up the location of my phone rather than telling me about the shipping label it will be sitting there :p.

In Randalstown, equally miffed by a target delivery date of Monday. RM Special Delivery can do next day anywhere in the UK so why can't UPS?

I'm in birmingham so I'm guessing mine won't leave tamworth untill tomorrow morning

Same here. Probably out for delivery early tomorrow as its local. Phew!

I think you have a better chance of delivery tomorrow than me.. I've been getting stuff from the online Apple Store for years, and in my experience TNT are faster at getting stuff to Northern Ireland than UPS. Most of my TNT deliveries were from Apple's centre in Cork, mind you. Good luck anyway!

This time around, I had high hopes for delivery on launch day because we now have an Apple Store in Belfast, and you know they are getting (have already got) them delivered :)

Surely local despatch cannot influence the date if they don't have the item yet?

Not quite true. It will probably be with your local despatch tomorrow. Its just the system decides what day it will be delivered if there are a lot of deliveries that day. I used to work for UPS and know how their system works.

anyone got an email confirmation from three says they expected you to receive it on the 13th.

despite the fact I got that email at 7pm and don't have my iPhone 4S.

anyone know what's going on?

Yeah it's a piss poor performance... though with the iPad 1 delivery they where spot on for release day, I queued at the Apple store for 2, which is what i should have done for the iPhone 4S seemingly. I'll prob head up that direction tomorrow night then see if I can get it!

Until a few minutes ago, i didn't realise there was a Yodel warehouse in Wednesbury. Where abouts is it? I used to go to school at Stuart Bathurst right by the motorway so vaguely know Wednesbury....

think my misses went to stuart bathurst (by the currys/pcworld etc?)
anyway i think its the massive yodel on the black country route! id say it was more willenhall than wednesbury!
