Yodel has just moved mine a whole 2 miles from Oldbury, West Mids to Wednesbury, West Mids. Lol. Assuming that's where they'll send it out for delivery now. Wish i could just go and collect. Wednesbury is Junction 9 of the M6 and my house is Junction 7 of the M6. So close....

Mine has been moved to Lichfield, not far but still in the wrong direction :D:D

Looks like N.Ireland deliveries aren't happening until Monday...can't say I'm too happy about that

First and last online order for me...I've always got one on launch day, most times within an hour of the store opening so a nice F U to non mainland UK as usual

How they can't deliver next day 200 miles is beyond me when my new case arrived from the US in 36 hours!

I'm away to hug my iPad :D

I'm in Belfast and in the same position. It's inexcusable. Amazon one-day delivery can get here with no problems; Royal Mail can manage it too. But UPS can't?

I plan to keep a close eye on the UPS tracker tomorrow - if it gets as far as their depot in Mallusk, it'll stay there until Monday. If that happens, you can phone and ask to pick it up. They're open till 8pm. I did it not long ago when my Macbook Air arrived in NI on a Friday afternoon, and therefore too late for delivery on the day. They were fine with it - you just phone, quote your tracking number (the long UPS one), ask them to hold it for pick up, and bring some ID with you when you go.

Other folks with a Monday scheduled delivery could probably do the same if they see the package scanned in at their local depot..

Hello everyone

it is not easy to find this information in thousands of posts here so may I ask : are Apple Stores going to sell unlocked phones tommorrow (for people who wait in queue) or there will be only carrier-locked ones?

thank you

OK, cracked it, this is what Apple need to do for the next launch...

When you pre-order your iPhone 5, just before it leaves Apple it has your AppleID programmed into it, then it's switched to standby, boxed and shipped. That way we'll all be able to use 'Find my Phone' to track the progress and location of our individual phones! Well, at least until the batteries run out.

:D

I had this exact thought earlier when playing about with iCloud and locating my iPad! I was just thinking "Hmm I wonder if Apple will ever ship iPhones with our ID's already pre loaded so we can see where it is." haha

Apple sells unlocked handsets. Your handset is only locked to a carrier if you buy from that carrier.

Buy from O2? Locked to O2. Buy from Orange? Locked to Orange. (you get the picture) Buy from Apple? Unlocked.

I think you can set up contracts with carriers in the Apple store but not 100% (I'm PAYG)

They'll be selling them unlocked if you're willing to pay full whack (£499, £599 or £699) as well as on 3, T-Mobile, O2, Orange and Vodafone plans. Carrier lock is applied via software in store if you buy with a contract.

50 pages of people updating everyone on their online tracking info, thrilling.

Anyone planning on queuing at an O2 store tomorrow AM?

I was but buckled and pre ordered my upgrade through CPW. If your going to a fairly large store then I would say get there no later than 6am, depending on what model you want. The store I spoke to today said they had around 350 units in! :D

White 64GB as an upgrade.

Was your an upgrade or new order?
New order, 64GB black.

Credit card transaction was blocked by bank when order when through- got automated call to tell me. As soon as the email popped through saying they needed more details I was straight on the phone (1:35pm) and credit card was tried again, when through fine this time (not unusual apparently). Was confirmed at that point it would be dispatched on Thursday for Friday delivery. CS lady said it was the first 4S orders she'd come across. Phoned up on Tuesday to check it was still scheduled for Thursday dispatch. Phoned today and suddenly it was a different story- Apple weren't allowing them to be sent out until Fridy at 8am- web sales claimed this was the same for all carriers and only those with couriers offering same day delivery would get them tomorrow.

ThreeUK on Twitter later denied this, saying all orders up until Midday today would arrive tomorrow or Saturday. Now, I can understand if I'd ordered on Monday or later if I wasn't getting mine tomorrow but I made sure I got my order in ASAP because I knew I could be in for delivery tomorrow but not Saturday, Monday or Tuesday. Load of good that did

Until a few minutes ago, i didn't realise there was a Yodel warehouse in Wednesbury. Where abouts is it? I used to go to school at Stuart Bathurst right by the motorway so vaguely know Wednesbury....

I'm in birmingham so I'm guessing mine won't leave tamworth untill tomorrow morning

Good point...did that for the iPad 1 back in the day!

UPS update

My previous Monday delivery has disappeared from UPS website and now says it has left the tamworth depot. Delivered tomorrow?? I hope so :D

I hope you get it tomorrow! :D I think they give a later day just to be on the safe side! If it does arrive on Monday then, you the customer, can't really complain but if it arrives tomorrow then you'll be all :D and all will be good :)

Warm tips for those using ups tracking once you can see your item status, choose "request status update" You can from here choose to get your status update by either email or mobile phone, of course you want to choose by mobile. Simply put your number in and you will receive a text, reply "yes" and now you are free to go and have some good sleep, no point getting to worried by keep refreshing the status page, which I know many of you does lol. Next morning wake up, you probably get a status update that your item has left the depot, and wait patiently at the door steps for your new iPhone to come. I know lots of you know this, just for those who don't know abt it.

How far is everyone from there local TNT/UPS/UK Mail depot ?

I checked the postcode for my local UK Mail, it started with LE4. My postcode starts with LE8, so i assumed it was only a few miles away and i'd be one of the first few deliveries.

Turns out its LE4 on the other side of Leicester :( 12 miles away, and 300,000 people to potentially deliver too between me and them. Somehow i think i will be towards the end of the day :p

Edinburgh :D Not as far north as Arbroath! ;)

I'm in Inverness and I have an estimated delivery for tomorrow by Syncreon. Funnily enough, my dads phone is being shipped by UPS (ordered same time with exact same delivery address) and his isn't due until Monday.
