You're so much better going with Vodafone then. None of that nonsense of waiting 3 months and I've also heard stories about Orange not unlocking some iPhones are 3 months too.

Do Vodafone sell them on PAYG in stores? That's the big question now, if so £20 more for not having to wait a few weeks for an unlocked one isn't that bad.

I see them on their online store with ship times of 2-4 working days. Not sure how accurate that is.

So if those who ordered towards the end of the day on the 7th are getting their phones then how long do you think it will take to get mine if I ordered on the 9th?

I reckon most people that pre-ordered did on the first day and not much on the 8th/9th - I hope anyway!!!

I ordered mine on 11th. On order status it says:
Processing Items Delivers 19 Oct, 2011 - 26 Oct, 2011

I'm so impatient :(

How does yours say 19th-26th when you ordered on the 11th and mine says 24th-31st when I ordered on the 9th :( i'm impatient too!!!
 
First it said it should be delivered between 24th and 1st of November, but a few days ago it changed.

O2 don't charge to unlock a contract iPhone but they will charge you £15 to unlock a PAYG iPhone.

Sorry if someone has already mentioned this but do Apple orders get delivered on a Saturday?
 
I ordered on 16th. It's been more than 48 hours now and it is still processing, is this normal?

It says dispatched 1-2 weeks, delivers 25th October - 1 November

yes.... i ordered mine on the 7th and since then its been processing. my delivery is from the 17th till the 24th. seems strange mines still processing when it could be delivered at any time

What you will need to do is take the SIM out and put it into another handset that supports editing of these special numbers. (I used my wife's old SE C905). On the SE handsets, you have to go into your contacts, options, more, then I think it was listed as a Special number, or similar anyway. If you edit this number to your correct O2 number, then pop the SIM back into the iPhone and do a sync, this should hopefully cure your problems.

Went to a 3 store and was told they couldn't help me. They sent me to the Apple Store. The guy there said that he was aware of the issue, but Apple couldn't help me. So I went back to another 3 store, spoke with someone more helpful, explained what you explained. He sent me off to get a micro-SIM adapter (£5 for a tiny piece of plastic! :p), popped my SIM in some Android phone and made a call (didn't change any settings). SIM went back in my iPhone and was still showing the wrong number. He reset settings and still no good. I said I'd try an iTunes sync when I got home. Got home, took out my phone, checked the number again, and it had magically changed to the correct one :)
 
I ordered on the 7th at 5:45pm, and mine has finally changed to preparing for shipment! Any idea how long it takes on this stage, or how long till it arrives from those that already have theirs?
 
The dock I ordered at the same time as the phone that got put in a separate shipment turned up this morning via UPS btw :). Lovin' it!
 
Woooooo preparing for shipment... about time!!!!, ordered it in the afternoon on the 7th XD, hope it gets here by friday.

Yeah they did, I am a business customer with 5 lines so they like to keep me sweet. I get annual upgrades, she is adamant she is keeping her BB so am selling her iPhone 4S at cost price. Am going to stick it on ebay tonight if no one here wants it. :):)

I think the people that got "Preparing for Shipment" today can expect the phone tomorrow! Wasn't it like that on the 13th for all the UK orders that got the shipping estimate for the 14th ? Would make all the sense :)
 
Mine just went from processing times to shipped.

what happened to preparing the shipment lol
