im really tempted to just get one online....however i dont want to spend 700 quid and have to wait 2 weeks to get it.

Ordered my iPhone 4S last night and the delivery date shows between 31 October and 7 November. When I check the status of my order it's still showing those dates. However, when I checked the store tonight and go through the steps of ordering one, the delivery date is now showing 26 October to 2 November. I'm wondering if I should I cancel my existing order and reorder with the quicker delivery dates...

Probably not, as you will receive it earlier if available. They seem to be being sent in almost order date/time

Has anyone actually bought one from an apple store this week? This reserve system is really starting to annoy me.

please i need a desperate answer, doesn't anybody know if there's any possibility of the phone not being delivered within the given estimate delivery dates? It says 25th October and 1st November. In between i mean. If it doesn't get delivered before 2nd of November i will not be able to get it.

I'm making it deliver to a friends house and she wil bring it to me, but her plane is on 3rd of October. If i miss it i will not have it.

Please i need an answer

I bought one on launch day, but loose buttons and a change of mind means I want to return it, and get a white one.... hence I'm watching for reservations.

I've not seen any available, in any uk store either tonight or last night :(

I rung one store yesterday to check stock, and absolutely zero in.

You could always order a PAYG phone from Vodafone - they have 32gb and 64gb in stock. Unlocking costs £20, but at least you'd get it in a few days.

in my opinion you should be ok. my delivery date was 17th -24th however i am getting mine tomorrow.

highly doubt they will send you the phone after the given time scale.

Dont think a lot of this new reserve and collect system - haven't yet found a store with ANY apple product available - clearly they are having issues.

Think I'll call it a day and stick with the 4 and save myself £699. Sorry Apple, you need to get yourselves sorted better
:(

this maybe inspires me that my PAYG White 32gb that i ordered with orange yesterday might still turn up this week as the lady said a lot of ppl were going for the 16gb as there choice :D finger crossed!

Totally agree with you but sadly this would be my first iphone so im just going to be miserable until i get 1 -_-

Well I'm seriously wound up now. Started refreshing every few minutes from 8:45, on both Manchester Arndale and Trafford Centre. Nothing!!!

I'd rather Apple say we have none, than make me wait until 9, constantly refresh and still get no where.

Bloody annoying.

Mine says 25th of October - 1st of November. If it doesn't get delivered by the end of the 2nd of October i will never be able to get it, that's why i'm asking.

Apple are very good at delivering earlier than the latest date that they quote in the shipping estimate. I have never known them to deliver later than the later date that they quote.

Please keep us informed as to whether Apple cancel your order, bearing in mind that you are using a foreign credit card with (presumably) a foreign billing address. Let's hope that they don't, but they did it to me when I tried to order the original iPad from the U.S. store and have it shipped to a friend in the U.S.A.

i did that same thing with the us apple online store couple months ago and i successfully bought a macbook air.

I hope they don't cancel it. I've got a warning from my credit card company saying that if you are not making a 600 pound transaction from apple.com please warn us. So that means they've contacted my credit card and that is a good thing, i guess?

Regarding this vodafone thing.... can someone link me to this £20 unlocking option? Because the only place I can see it mentioned is that they will do it AFTER your contract is done?

Um no... it just means an automated system has pre-auth'ed your card. It means, frankly, nowt!

Pay as you go

All of our pay as you go phones are locked to our network, including those by Apple (iPhone). If you want to unlock a pay as you go phone so you can use it with a SIM from another mobile operator, you’ll need an NUC code. We’ll supply you with this for a one-off cost of £19.99. You’ll need to top up your phone with at least £19.99 before you ask for the code so we can deduct it from your credit to pay for your NUC. If your phone is over 12 months old, we’ll give you an NUC for free.
