Anyone got any update when 4s is becoming available for reservation? This 9pm thing is really getting tedious.

yes, rang local (Exeter) store this morning and the staff there were apologetic - they have had no stock since Friday and simply said, "we are building them as fast as possible"

I got fed up and rang voda (I am with them anyway on a Sim only contract) Have bought a 64GB black which they say will be shipped today for delivery tomorrow. They will also unlock foc as I'm a long term customer so that saves £20.

I am also selling them back my old iphone 3g for about £80

I have the option of either waiting for reservations tonight, OR buying on voda PAYG (there is SOME stock).

I don't know whether to wait with apple, or go voda?

I got fed up with the Apple reservation system simply displaying No Stock, so I bought a 64GB PAYG from voda this morning. Being shipped tonight for delivery tomorrow and they have confirmed they will unlock immediately. I'm with them anyway so am happy.

Can you UK people check out whether your phone rattles if you tap on the back towards the top of the phone? (near the camera)?
Mine does, kinda annoying but apparently nothing to worry about, there's a thread or two about it happening for a lot of people and just want to see if other UKers have the same thing.

Mine doesn't seem to, FWIW.

There are literally hundreds of people complaining that voda have lied to them, the 4s isn't in stock and it's going to take weeks.
Despite them saying 'in stock', I think it's probably a bit of BS.

I'm also getting sick of the reservations.

Sorry I mean from a vodafone store :)

Mine does - its the + volume button on mine. Already rung apple who said refund/replace not a problem.

Because of the stock shortages, I'll be getting a refund and buying from a network with stock and unlocking! :)

Apple doesn't replace from retail stock. They usually have "brown box" warranty replacement stock for such purposes. I would be very surprised if they had none of those in stock and you had to wait.

Well I ordered one today on Apple Store ONLINE, if Apple's store reserve system does have some stock at my nearest store then I'll cancel but I have

"Dispatched: 1 - 2 Weeks Delivers 27 Oct, 2011 - 03 Nov, 2011"

Considering some fokes ordered 10-12 days ago and just getting them now my estimate don't seem too bad.

If the reservation doesn't work tonight, I'll bite the bullet and order online. Another two weeks without an iPhone is going to be tough, I'm already having withdrawal.

Well the Online order is a backup I say, at least you'll get it eventually.

Reservation in store is pretty much a bit of a gamble at the moment, but good thing with online is you can cancel it.

Worst case even if you get it then e*ay is your friend it seems at the moment

Only reason I want to buy the iphone from apple is that my mum gave me an apple voucher for an ipod touch originally but I decided to put some of my own money to get the iphone. tempted just to sel the voucher to a friend or something and buy it somewhere else.

OK today I have been to Meadowhall in Sheffield.

I didn't want to say earlier because I was being selfish, but I've managed to buy a white 32gb 4S from Vodafone (lower level).

I've got it on a 12 month contract and based on my existing sim only price plan cost vs new iPhone plan... its actually about £30 cheaper than buying it outright and continuing with sim only for 12 months.

So basically as of right now i have 1 black 32gb to go back to apple on saturday, and the white 32gb which I'll be keeping.

Someone earlier asked me to report back on the 'rattle'. Well the new white one rattles exactly the same as the black one. however, the volume buttons are a LOT tighter on this new white model.

I'd also point out that vodafone in meadow hall (a LARGE voda store) DO/did have stock of 32gb and 64gb in both colours - including some PAYG models.

Hope this helps someone.

Oh and by the way, apple store was closed off. Sad as I may be, it did make me think how important this guy was. Back open at from 8pm apparently.

Right ordered online and used the 3.5% cash back.
If I can get one reserved I'll cancel, but at least I have a backup.

16gb Black. Was soooo close to ordering White but everyone keeps telling me its too feminine, so backed out :(

my dad (bit old fashioned) thinks me buying a white iPhone is my way of 'coming out'. grr!

but it does look great!

The White looks fresh but I'm worried it will dull/fade in time.

I wanted to use the Quidco too but it seems a bit suspect to me, maybe I'm being a bit over paranoid but hey :).

Is your estimate showing same as me?

Yep same, not too bad as at the earliest is only 7 days.
Just means I've got up to two weeks without my iPhone :(:(
