UK iPhone 4S thread.

I ordered on the 9th so I guess that means mine will come on Saturday - do Apple/UPS deliver on saturday????
Apple had more than double the iPhones available than the iP4 launch, it would suggest that they had learnt something!!
Thing is, they are never going to make enough of them to supply initial demand, this is both down to not being able to churn enough out of the factory, and also gets the headlines of 'OMG SOLD OUT FONES!!', which in turn makes people want to see what all the fuss is about.
The store reservation thing is only good if the store hasn't sold out of phones that day. Even if you can't find it on the site, it might be worth heading into the store to see if a new delivery has come in the next day.

02 have stock of most sizes. I ordered the 32gb black on Tues night and it's waiting for me at home.

Whats the deal with O2? Im tracking the stock to find a white 16GB near me but obviously I'll be waiting a while. You said you 'ordered' one. How did you do that? O2 keep telling me to go into the store and hope they have one!

Do it through upgrades over the phone, did mine on 14th got delivered 17th.. Still have a 64GB spare.

reserving is now the only way you can get a sim free iPhone 4s. You cannot go in store and buy one.
i cannot believe over the past few days only a select number of stores have had minimal stock. I believe we are going to see a surge in the next few days where deliveries are regular (hopefully it starts tonight).

Anyhoo I called them up again, the girl had a go at me for asking to upgrade to the 4S as at every stage of the menu selection over the phone it said "we are out of stock for anything else please continue" but I used my charm
and got her laughing pretty quickly and she said all that can be done at the moment was put me on the waiting list. So i ordered the phone, and the gave the contract details etc and now just have to wait 2 weeks (probably a minimum) and it should be delivered.

Persistence seems to have paid off. They will text you with an order number and then another text with a delivery slot. I managed to get in at 8.30am on Friday so was one of the first. At the time they asked if I wanted to upgrade all my lines. said no thanks and only did 2. Now can't get rid of 1 as wife didn't want hers.

they have said that it is most likely that i will get the iPhone after the weekend at the earliest and should get a shipping notice in a 'few days'. was really hoping to have it in my hands before weekend. oh well.

I am led to understand yes but.... I was also told, twice and independently, that VF are handling their iphone fulfilment using a dedicated team and that their information is not being uploaded to the main VF IT systems, so the CS people cannot actually tell you what the status was.
They told me that they had to send an email with the relevant details to the iPhone team and had to rely on them to respond - incredible if true. I was also advised that it was possible that the paperwork would be lagging behind the despatch of the phones.
Whilst I think VF have yet again totally sc****d up on their customer service, I placed an order online yesterday morning, and someone else whom i know place an online order about the same time today. Assuming that their order numbering system is sequential, today's was 464000 higher than mine. That's a lot of orders to handle in one day
I was the same as you but I am on an Orange monthly contract and I checked their website for a PAYG white 16gb 4s on Tuesday this week - they had stock - ordered online and it was delivered yesterday! - I think I may have got one of the last they had in stock - very pleased with that
ahan thats really nice! congrats!!!i cant get it from Orange as i m not gonna use it in UK! i m buying it for my brother who is in some other country!! so i assume that the one i bought from apple store will be factory unlocked!
