Ordered last night, delivered today? I want to see the proof! I doubt that very much!!! As for the payg on 3. I think most of the shops are not actually selling them direct only online, due to people buying them then unlocking them immediatly.

Proof!

I'd wait until nearer the time- you're not coming to the UK for over a month, by then availability should be a lot better. Its a better idea to look closer to the time you're visiting.

Reserve and pickup is available- but if you read through the posts here (I understand if thats difficult if your english isn't too good) you'll see there is a shortage of stock. From what I've read it seems that the system relies on stores feeding back what stock they have at the end of each day. You're right in thinking it should happen at 9pm (UK time) each night, but have a read through the thread- people don't seem to be having much luck.

Or maybe less people are buying them in France or Germany?

Either way, be patient and try nearer the time you're coming.

Thanks a lot jeffersuk :)

I hope that near the date I'll be in London (17-21 nov) the situation of the stock will be better, but is a particular period... very close to Christmas.
Anyway is very strange that in UK there is a shortage of stock like that.
Yesterday night i tryed to see the Reserve & Pick up site, I only see very few items in 3 shops on 33 in UK.

I have in mind the France or Germany, where in some shops (not the ones in the big city), they have for a lot of time (one hour and half, for Nice sure) more option of choice... and in UK you have very few seconds to order :D

Yes, few seconds infact, after they disappeared... You are very hungry in UK :D :D

Probably in that countries, there are less interested people at Iphone... but I'm not so sure of that.
I read in an italian forum, that in the shop on Nice FR, they sell Iphone only at the customers that reserve it online.
So, during the day, it seems that don't sell Iphone to noone without reservation... in Uk, from what i read here, is different.

That could be the reason why UK is empty and FR & DE are "full" of Iphone at the end of the day.

About my situation, I'll try to wait and see what will happen, hoping everything goes well!

Finally
That's very important for me.
Can you confirm, that the only thing they ask, when you go to pick up an item, is the APPLE ID.
So, is not required the print ot the confirmation email.

That cause I won't have a computer to print that, during my London visit

Just to update people on Three. I went to the Durham store this morning, no reservation or anything, and they were very happy to give me a PAYG 4S. They said they were not allowed to sell it without the £15 though. So add £15 to the purchase cost.

Once you've bought it you have to activate it, which I guess you could do with another 3 sim if you wanted to keep the £15 one to sell. Then ring 333 and ask for it to be unlocked. That's another £15 and, according to the CS I spoke to, it takes 24-48 hours so he says mine will not be unlocked until Monday as it is Apple that do it and they don't work Saturdays.

So, the best bet is to get one direct and unlocked from Apple. But, if you're willing to pay £30 to get one sooner, try Three.

Indeed, but i was replying to somebody who said you got it direct from apple store online within the day. But yours is from o2 so fair enough! ;)

Nice one, i've ordered from 3 online as there is no store near me as i live in the sticks. When it gets here i will just put in my contract 3 sim.

Fair do's. I've had stuff from Apple arrive within 12 hours before from their site. Not sure about an iPhone with pent up demand though :D

Yeah they said up to 48 hrs for me too, but I put my o2 sim in about an hour later, and it activated NP. But the point is I think from this is that you can actually get an unlocked one fairly quick and with no hassle if you can't wait, the unlock fee is worth it just for tha fact you dont have to mess about with reservations/queueing without a guarantee at the apple store etc :)

So fingers crossed :) Shame you had to get the SIM tho, but you could abuse the all you can eat data for 30days and turn your old phone into a hotspot or something. Either way, im glad you got sorted mate :)

Still at -- Processing Items Ships: 1 - 2 Weeks Delivers 25 Oct, 2011 - 01 Nov, 2011

Same here. Ordered on the 17th and was initially showing delivery between 31 Oct and 7 Nov. On Wednesday it was revised to 25 Oct to 1 Nov. Ordered a 16GB black for the wife and 64GB white for me.

hi. my order went to "preparing for shipment" on 21st oct 2011 early morning. when should i expect the delivery. pls help. waiting eagerly for my iph.

pls let me know when you recieve it. mine went preparing for shipment last night too.

My iPhone 4S has now been shipped FINALLY by TNT. Apple's delivery estimate is the 24th :(. If my phone had only been shipped yesterday I would have had it today, now I have to wait until monday if the guy that I spoke to on the phone from Apple is right about no weekend deliveries!!!

I ordered a 32gb white 4S on the evening of the 7th - the status changed to Preparing for Shipment last night at approx 10pm, and within the past hour it has changed to Shipped. Apparently its being sent via UPS, although the tracking number given does not work on their site, and the estimated delivery date is the 24th. Just thought I'd update incase anyone who is still waiting for the status to change from Processing wanted some idea of the timeline I've experienced.

Most three shops will now let you buy PAYG the three shop in Darlington said they have plenty of stock. I think ill wait to reserve another iPhone from apple though as I am trying a white one and three said as soon as you break the seal you cant return the phone.

Anyone in doubt about buying a 4s from a three store, i've just done that. But the first shop I went to said that they weren't selling them PAYG, the second (Exeter) were very happy to sell one, and guided me through the unlocking. It'll take 24/48 hours though.

Pleased to have it, no more waiting!

Did you get a text saying it had been unlocked? Did you do anything other then put the new sim in and plug into iTunes? Sounds like you got lucky.

May I know how long did it take for the carrier info to be available ?

Edit: nvm, mine is shipped via UPS. estimated on Monday as well..

Just come back from the Three shop with a 16gb 4s, my dad needed the £15 top up so we're only paying an extra £14, happy with that.

Unboxing now.

for those sitting on the fence, you can still get 3.5% cashback on the 4s from Apple store - http://www.quidco.com/user/123570/32231/apple-store

Thanks Bobby. The last time I checked Quidco couple weeks ago, iPhones were excluded from any cash back. So earn £19 for buying a 32GB iPhone.

I was gonna get one straight away from the shop. Now I might do this, despite having to wait 1-2 weeks for despatch according to Apple website.
