UK iPhone 4S thread.

If ours are coming from china too we've been screwed over. They would have to ship today to stand any chance of getting here for launch, but it is clear they are not.

Our only saving hope is that they ship from UK.

Relax. They will be distributed from a hub in either the UK, Ireland or the Netherlands. The status will only show as despatched when they have passed out of Apple's hands into the control of a courier, and sometimes even then the status doesn't update for quite a while.

No. I've become obsessive compulsive-swiping to the June Cloud widget on my Mac or tapping the Deliveries app on my iPhone. All perfectly normal for me.

Also perfectly normal are people saying they've spoken to Uncle Tom Cobbley & All who was certain it will/won't be delivered on Friday!

It's great fun-just remember whatever-nobody died!

PS If anything changes you'll be the first to know..

They all come from China. You probably won't see anything change on the status until it/they leave the distribution centres. This is what happened to my MBP anyway.

The people in the US generally get better tracking information than us so keep the faith, the deliveries will be on time.

Keep Calm and Carry On!!!

Deep breath everyone! .. There is nothing to suggest that delivery won't be as expected .. all our orders (from Apple) say dispatched by Friday .. just trust it!

So much stress .. what will we do with all that excess energy once we have our iphones?!?! lol
 
Is it reasonable to assume that carrier phoned in pre-orders won't be delivered till after Friday?
 
did we find out which networks are set up for the faster 14.4Mbit speeds yet?

so far I have:
Vodafone - yes (but only in towns/cities)
3 mobile - yes (actually 21.1Mbit) mainly in towns/cities but also expanding the rest of the network to those speeds.

anyone any idea of O2 and orange/T-mobile? my findings suggest they both top out at 7.2Mbit max.

Where I am O2 still tops out at GPRS, no 3G or EDGE. :eek:
Yet our local O2 store still pushes 3G dongles. :eek:
 
Has anyone had any indication when (gonna say a swear word here) Three are going to deliver pre-orders.. I see their website still says 'earliest delivery date: friday 14th'

You're in the UK, don't get your hopes up. I, and others have got in touch with Apple and it looks like they won't send out the iPhones until Friday. So, you'll be waiting into next week for them to be delivered. But it looks like the Americans will get it for the 14th. UK shafted again.

I hope they are just misinformed, but I'm not getting my hopes up for a Friday delivery.

lol sorry guys, meant to say Three. Would suck if you guys that ordered from Apple don't get them on friday. My dad is in that boat, he's gloating that he'll get one before me swiftly ceased when I told him about that.
 
When you call them all they say is it's shipping on the 14th, though it might be earlier. My work colleague claims that Orange are delivering his today! So will be quite surprised if Orange can get them to the end user quicker than Apple.

Orange got it wrong according to my work colleague - it's from the 14th (or maybe 13th delivered 14th)

Spoke to orange and got cut off :(

He said something about my tariff wont work on an iphone, calls and texts will work... but the data wont :/

i asked what the difference was with the two plans!

I've had to change my tariffs over when I've changed from iPhone to BB etc, it's to do with the BB using the Blackberry services add on, although it shouldn't be a problem for them to just swap it over.

Not so. The vast majority of those who pre-ordered on Friday morning (prior to delivery dates slipping to 1 to 2 weeks) will get their iPhone 4S on Friday.

Relax, and enjoy the anticipation. :)
 
Im still wondering why apple took the 499 from my bank account, and then put it back in again! - I think it may of been a pre-authorisation check, but its not reassuring to know they haven't even taken full payment yet!
 
I've pre ordered via an Orange store directly .. however

Just called up my local carphone warehouse as i as curious.

Store manager told me that CPWH as a whole have been promised EVERY SINGLE pre order WILL be fullfilled and that when stock runs low they will stop pre orders.

He is 110% that anybody who pre orders, WILL get one on Friday.

Apple must be making promises to carriers then.
