UK iPhone 4S thread.

I ended up changing to an iphone tariff... with BB data being down i now understand the difference and why BB plans wont work on iphones!

I had to cut down my minutes to keep the plan at the same price, however my account says im changing to a 'iPhone extra 36' plan, which a little research tells me is a £36 plan. My BB plan was £30. They woman on the phone told my my minutes were going down to 100 from 600. but the iphone 36 plan is 300 minutes?!

Im dead confused. i need to ring them and ask whats going on but its finding the time!

for those who said Apple didnt promise to deliver on the 14th, I remember when pre orders first went up on the 7th, it said 'Pre order now for delivery on October 14th'
 
Case (pouch) & front and back screen protectors arrived this morning! Getting excited now lol.

The blackberry plan works fine on an iphone, im using it right now and have been for 6 months, a friend has also been using it for over a year without any problem.

They said 'Delivery starting on the 14th' because I remember wondering if that meant the delivery process or the actual delivery of the phone.

Regarding the gift message thing being relevant, I only get that option when I check status through the US site.

Weird, i get that option from the UK and US site.
 
Just got off the phone with 3, the woman was extremely nice and easy to understand (making me feel more secure against the comments people have made about their customer service.) She apologised for me not receiving an email telling me that I had passed the credit checks and that the order was all going through the 'final security stages' and that the phone would DEFINITELY be with me on Friday. Good times.

That's true! I left Three when the original iPhone came out. I advised that I was leaving as they didn't do the iPhone, and that it was the only phone I wanted.
This didn't stop them continually calling offering me a "better deal!" I was getting fed up so when one rep called telling me about a better offer it went something like this...

3: we can do 600mins, 1200 txts and 500mb data for £30 a month
Me: how many mins?
3: 600
Me: how many txts?
3: 1200
Me: How much data?
3: 500mb
Me: and that's how much a month?
3: £30 a month.
Me: how many mins?
3: 600
Me: how many txts?
3: 1200
Me: How much data?
3: 500mb
Me: and that's how much a month?
3: £30 a month.
Me: how many mins?
3: 600

He put the phone down on me and no one from Three ever called back again! :)

Back on topic, I ordered 10am on 7th. Mines still "Processing: dispatched. Ships by 14th October"

Will be checking late tonight/tomo morning for some movement!!

Thanks for the tip. Just ordered front and back protectors from http://phonedevil.com/index.php/browse-by-device/apple/iphone-4.html saving £2 for the combined order.

I've used SGP Steinheil EX Ultra Crystal Body Shield for iPhone 4 in the past. They are also very good. Slightly more expensive though so it will be interesting to compare them. With the SGP you get 2 front and 2 back protectors plus bits to protect the steel band around the edge of the phone. Available from eBay and Amazon for £16.17.
 
Just saw on the @Orangehelpers twitter that they said pre-orders will be despatched on Thursday for Friday delivery about 40 minutes ago. Someone questioned them asking if that was for all pre-orders and they confirmed that indeed it would be for all pre orders so far.

Sounds promising as I only put my pre order in yesterday morning - have to wait and see :)

There's a brilliant and pretty popular video clip on YouTube which I sadly can't find right now where someone recorded his experience of trying to leave 3... can anyone else find it, it's so outrageous it's funny.

I just phoned 3 as I hadn't had a confirmation email from them.

They said its all gone through and will be dispatched tomorrow by royal mail for delivery on Friday :D
 
If it's any help to anyone still wondering on whether to pull the trigger this late in the pre-order game, my brother has just been offered an upgrade with O2 with guaranteed delivery on Friday. 16gb too, so they must have plenty of stock.
