Same here but ive had no money from my card yet
UK apple store...just minutes after website went live
I'm sorry but when I pre-ordered, it said 'Preorder 7th October for delivery 14th October'. That's why I expect it next friday and I'll be disappointed if I don't get it. I'm going away and would have made other arrangements if the webpage hadn't specifically said '..for delivery 14th'
I'm not whining (in fact this is my first post on the subject) but I will be disappointed and will feel misled by Apple.
So, who's confident of a Friday delivery for their pre-order?
The Apple website said, and always said, "For Dispatch by 14th"
This does not mean delivered by the 14th.
It was mentioned lots in the thread as soon as the site went live.
however before preorders went live the site stated pre order from 7th ... deliveries beginning 14th
implying that the first wave would get the phones ON the 14th - thats why i preordered as soon as the site was up about about 8.40am
I have been reading the posts in this thread and it's crazy that people think if Apple do not get their iPhones to them by Friday it will end up being bad PR for them.
"Before preorders went live..."
So when you actually preordered it didn't say that?
Anyway, i'm sure you'll all get them on Friday, Apple are usually pretty good at organising this stuff.
It's a same people who ordered online from the apple store probably won't get them on the 14th :/
Indeed, on release day!![]()
All it takes for bad PR is for people to kick up enough of a fuss online, as they did for Antennagate. Whether it is deserved or not is irrelevant, the coming of social media and internet forums enables a group of voices to shout loudly in unison instead of being a lone voice in the wilderness.
Not saying I agree, just that the internet makes it possible for a person's opinion to be heard by many, rather than a few.
yeah fair enough but it is Apple? when have they ever disappointed consumers.
Right, but Antennagate is a completely different scenario. If your preorder doesn't arrive on Friday, it will arrive on Monday. What would you expect them to do about it? More to the point, how will a weekend without your new toy really affect your long term opinion/experience with it?All it takes for bad PR is for people to kick up enough of a fuss online, as they did for Antennagate. Well said. The whole purpose (and indeed the understanding) when placing an early pre-order is to secure delivery on launch day. Otherwise it's fairly pointless.
I fully expect the vast majority of early pre-orders to be delivered on Friday. If this were not to happen it would result in a very large number of customers feeling let down, and would leave Apple open to justified criticism.
Nope. Preorder doesnt guarantee delivery on launch day.
Can someone quote this guy when they have their apple.co.uk deliveries on Friday.
Im fully confident my phone will be delivered on Friday. If the networks have stock to deliver for Friday, then so does apple.Simple as.

oh, and while we are clutching at straws, the option to add a gift message which appeared on my order, has now gone.
If, for some reason that doesn't happen, it is not the end of the world, but Apple will not look good particularly when carriers such as Orange, Vodafone and Three manage to fulfil customer expectations.
Apple will not let down their most loyal customers without very good reason, believe me.
