UK iPhone 4S thread.

Don't think the confirmation email time means anything here guys, I ordered a Black 16gb at 0847 hrs on 7th Oct. confirmation email didn't come till 0140 hrs on the 8th! ( was panicking!) , and mine is Preparing for Shipment :D

Placed my order online at 8:43, literally a minute after the online store went live, however I didn't get my confirmation e-mail until after 10pm!! 13 hours later :eek:

Don't know why. Only placed one order, but there you go.

My order is still sitting at Processing Order, but just noticed a chunk of money has disappeared from my available credit on my Credit Card, so hopefully it is a step in the right direction.

Not 100% confident I will get it on Friday, but it would be nice to play with, especially as I am using an 18 month old 3GS as I sold my 4 a couple of weeks ago in anti.....cipation :)

Fingers crossed.
 
2 x black 64gb here - still processing order. I ordered them sim free via apple store; website initially and then by phone when order crashed. Confirmation email at 10.40am (ordered at 9.30am).

It's my first iPhone, but very philosophical. I've waited countless months, a few extra days won't matter. :)

Well I been on o2 and 3 and I found 3's 3G coverage is far far far superior to o2's. Having said that if you have 3g in your house and area for o2 it will be same on GiffGaff.

I have moved over the 3 completely from o2 as its download speeds are superb. They are also rolling out HPSA+ all over their network with speeds up to 21mb (on supported devices).
 
Guys (and gals), i wouldn't worry. The emails are being sent out in order of 16GB Black, 16GB White, 32 GB Black etc according to the time you delivered.

I've order a giff gaff micro sim off a member on here a few days ago but it hasn't shown up yet and a sim from Three.

Giff Gaff looks cheapest to me 10 quid/month for I think 300 mins unlimited text and unlimited data

Three is cheaper on PAYG 15 quid/month gets about the same I think but for some bizarre reason its 25 quid on pay monthly :-/

I just want it to be a nice internet connection and not have to worry about the cost really. O2's data costs are mental expensive an extra tenner for 1gb. Mad.

Any of you guys know how these 2 networks perform data wise. I know giff gaff will have a signal for voice because I'm on o2 and it the same carrier just wondering what the Download speeds are like etc

You're in for a treat. A very special treat indeed.

As a long time Microsoft (and HTC) phone user (and mobile software developer), I bought my first Apple device in 2009 - an Apple iPhone 3Gs. And I absolutely loved it. It was spec-wise a drop from my HTC Touch HD but in terms of usability, getting things done - it was no contest.

And earlier this year, I moved to GiffGaff - now I pay about £10 or less per month (instead of £20+). A bit of a result there too.

And I think that you ordered that GiffGaff Micro SIM from me - I can confirm that I posted it out to you over the weekend. I expect that you should receive it tomorrow, or Friday at the latest.

I realise this post could get lost very quickly in this tread, I hope one of you sees this and answers.
I order early-ish 09:30 on fri last week. I feel that ordering a white and a black 32G may hinder my supply. Still showing processing, have had confirmation email.
Question to you regally online pre orderers.
1. If it was To arrive by Fri, would I know before 23:59 tomorrow.
2. Whilst it's still processing a can still cancel, can I do the same when preparing shipment?

I ask as may I cancel and que up with the other hard core early Friday morning, I really want it for the weekend.

That's coz they've got the 'Vorsprung durch technik'. The French will be typically next because of their 'Va-va-voom'. We're stuck with 'bugger all'. :(

I cannot cancel now it is preparing to be shipped.

I want to know the answer to number 1 too.

As for question 2, no you wouldn't be able to cancel.

Hey Mike,

I just PM'd you back. I'm so stoked about getting this phone you wouldn t believe. I switched to a Mac Mini as a home computer a few years ago, then got a 27" iMac, then a Macbook Pro, then added a Macbook Air. I've held off and held off getting iPhone for ages because it just seemed to be so expensive for the tariffs compared to a regular phone that just makes calls.

People who know me can't believe I've not already got one because I bang on about Apple all the time haha.

I can't remember when I ordered the Sim from you, might have been Sunday or something, dunno.

Majority of total orders are probably still processing.

So..Whens everyone sticking round until? Think I spend about a week after product launches on macrumors forums. Then disappear again until something interesting starts happening again.
 
Hey all, first post on this thread but been following literally from the first post.

Firstly - thanks to all of you for posting! Great sense of community in this thread!

Secondly - i know this is has been asked (and answered) before on this thread but its so hard to find things from even an hour or two ago - but what/where are people buying cases/screen protectors from?

First iPhone for me - ditching the Blackberry - thankfully the recent RIM server problems are leaving me with no regrets!
