Amidst all the excitement of Lion update, IOS 5.0 and Apple TV update I hadn't checked my status recently but now I'm "Preparing for Shipment"
ok rang three, the woman who processed my order on friday in her wisdom took it upon herself to not only process my iPhone 4s order, but also sign me up to a 3 rolling sim only contract at £12 a month lol
i said to the guy today, i assumed it would be payg
he then said no. you take the sim and we recommend you give it to a friend etc
to which i replied "so hang on, you expect me to take on a contract and give it to my mate, he use the minutes, texts etc but i get charged for the privilege? I'm sorry i have no friends worthy of me paying for there contract"
the cheek of it lol
so they have cancelled it at no cost as I'm in the 14 day period, lucky me eh

That's just stupid. I've had every iPhone that has been out and mines is prepared for shipment.
Would be cool if the 4S came tomorrow. Especially as updating to iOS5.0 on my 3GS has been a complete nightmare of internal errors and recopying stuff that's already on there, and it isn't fully working yet.
I think only a few got delivered early last year, so it's unlikely but possible.
Still processing for me... ordered the 4S white 32GB. Apple couldnt get the payment initially, my bank stopped the payment because it thought it was fraudulent, but its sorted now and the payment was authorised earlier. Hope this doesn't delay my order!

Is the order number number relative at all? Mine begins W26628**** and was placed at 8:43am (literally seconds after the order site went live).
Seems that there are quite a few people who placed orders well later than mine, who's orders are at the Preparing for Shipment stage

I'm not sure how the order number works because I ordered around 09:30 IIRC, and mine begins W21890 so they don't seem to be sequential.
I wonder if the order number is based on the confirmation e-mail time then, rather than the order time...that might tie in.
My confirmation e-mail was at 10pm a lot later than 95% of other, earlier orders.

Me too! Although I think it's more likely they're in the European warehouse in The Netherlands. Either way, from Ireland or the Netherlands, we should not get them any later than Saturday.

Order number isnt sequential I ordered one 16GB at 8.43am and ordernumer is W261*******
I ordered a 32GB one around 10minutes later and the order number for that
is W227*******
Both are black and showing preparing for shipment
