For anyone whos with t-mobile and looking to swap your micro-sim to nano-sim, i just rang them (was on hold for about 20 minutes) and told them i need the nano-sim as ive ordered from apple and they took down my account details and address and told me someone will call within 24 hours to confirm I have the nano-sim coming.

Just scanning through this thread for t-mobile nano sim posts and was wondering if anyone has had any joy getting one yet, or has been in store and asked?

The above post I have quoted appears to be the most recent/promising. A few people on twitter are saying they may charge for the swap.

I am on a half price sim only 12 month contract with them which works out at £7.50 p/m - so the prospect of paying £10 etc for a sim swap, particularly in the context of my contract amount, seems a little silly..

I order a iphone 5 directly from apple and just wanted a nano sim as i have a sim only deal with t mobile and they told me they cant post one out until the 21st, same for their stores. bit stupid really, they should post the sims out at least in time for launch

Interesting - hopefully I can pick one up from their stores on friday then (after taking delivery of the iP5 of course!) - even then I do not know how long the process is transfering the number to the new nano sim etc.. Yes, this surely should have been antipated by them.. I think O2 are offering their nano sims from Tues and Three already have them.. It will be pretty poor if t-mobile are not in a position to enable their customers to be all set by launch on the 21tst

It's taken about 2 hours to port my number to the new sim card but that wasnt when million+ people were trying at the same time lol

What's everyone's thoughts on the T Mobile Full Monty plan? £36 per month, 2000 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited data. 64GB iPhone 5 for £269. 24 month contract.

Orange do he same deal but you only get 1GB of data.

Am I right in saying that there will be no difference in the level of service and coverage as T Mobile and Orange are the same company (part of EE) and they share each other's masts?

Would being on T Mobile mean the phone would always try to connect to a T Mobile mast or does it always connect to the mast with the strongest signal regardless of whether it's T Mobile or Orange?

I assume this is the best way to upgrade to EE in the coming months for 4G when Glasgow gets it?

Thanks

Not sure if anyone has answered this for you, but my brother now lives in Kinver, so right next to Stourbridge. When I used to visit him when I was on O2 I'd get 1 to 2 bars at best and no useable 3G. With Three I get full bars & good 3G data - same when I'm doing a quick mooch in the Bullring before heading back to London.

Went to go and grab a Three nano sim in Wimbledon and the very apologetic chap in there said they weren't due in until Monday, so will head back then.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll try and get a O2 sim on Tuesday and stick with that. Then when PAYG on three become available (in about a month apparently) i'll get one for evaluation.

Is anybody on Three in the south Coventry area, specifically Warwick University? Just ordered a Three SIM and I'm wondering what the signal's going to be like when I move there in two weeks. I don't really trust the online coverage map.

I rang and spoke to them today and was assured that they have enough stock for those getting iPhones from T-Mobile, and they were getting a whole lot more in the next few days for SIM only customers - you should be able to call and order one or walk in on release day.

I asked if it would be free and was assured that it would be.. for whatever that's worth!

As I understand it, the Orange packages permit tethering, the T-Mo tariffs don't.

Just ordered in store from T-Mobile and have been confirmed tethering is still allowed.

Their policy is no tethering on new full monty plans so make sure you've got that confirmation in writing if it doesn't work!

Have asked for the double confirmation from the store manager and will have it in writing as well.

the store manager can write whatever he likes, tethering is no longer permitted on the Full Monty plans. Just google "full monty tethering" to see for yourself.

Not worried at all, if it doesn't work, will have the legal right to cancel with them, as simple as that.

Whats everyone doing about screen protectors & cases ? I'm struggling to find anything good in stock. Everything is a 3-4 week wait.

I've ordered from here as they cases look quite decent, just need to get a screen protector now

I'll give T-Mobile a call later on today and see what they say regarding nano sims. In the past they have always charged 10 bills for a micro sim but maybe this time it will be different.

In the past I just called up CS and they deducted the £10 from my next bill.

Keep us posted on how you get on, it seems like us T-Mobile sim only people wanting to swap to nano's are rare! It seems from everyone's info/posts they'll only be available on the 21st which is definitely late!!

Does anyone have any advice on getting a contract with a poor credit rating? I left the country a few years ago and defaulted. I've been back 2 years now steadily righting the wrongs but creditexpert.co.uk still list my rating as poor.

I hear three are a bit more lenient?

And yes my final solution would be to buy outright but that will involve a few months saving....

Has anyone ordered with HSBC and had issues? I ordered mine 8:01 on Friday and is 'preparing for shipment' but money is still in my account but my 'available balance' is less the cost of the phone so I assume it's not blocked? It's just when I ordered my iPad 2 they blocked the payment. Anyone had Any experience of them still doing that even after its gone to 'preparing for shipment'?

That sounds like they have reserved the cash, but not actually taken it yet. Natwest have done exactly the same to me. Nothing shown taken the money out, but the available money in the account is less the amount.
