God I hope its not Parcelforce..Ive had nothing but trouble with them. I wasn't in to collect my iPod when they tried to deliver it so the postman signed for it himself and left it on the doorstep! Usually they leave a card and you get it from the post office.

just spoke to orange AGAIN and i managed to get an eight digit order number but it not trackable online, i asked them for the online number that could be tracked and they said because it was a pre order they were unable to but he was able to tell me everything i had ordered without me prompting him, i only told him i ordered and iphone 5, and he told me the size and what plan i had ordered so im happy enough that my order is ok, but still have a funny feeling I'm not going to get it on friday even though i was one of the first ones to order on the phone.

It's not the Royal Mail depot with parcel force, it's an actual post office ( at least it is where I live)
Ordered with CPW over the phone a 3.30pm on Friday. Having bought my iPhone 3G through them back in the day, they still had my details barring my current credit card etc.
- Took my current credit card details to cover the handset cost.
- Gave them my O2 phone number. The CPW sales guy told me the Simplicity tarrif I'm currently on etc. Said he'd done the contract upgrade to £36pm with O2 there and then,
- Confirmed the handset, tarrif change etc back to me at the end of the call.
No notification via text or email from CPW afterwards though, which like youself has concerned me. I'm tempted to call CPW in the morning just to confirm the order exists - my O2 account isn't yet showing any contract upgrade and is still showing as being eligable for a new handset/contract upgrade.
UPDATE: Tell a fib. CPW is now showing on my credit card transactions for £269.
Will probably be UPS, TNT or UKMail. They seem to be what Apple use in the UK now. They use Royal Mail as well but only for smaller items like accessories and software.
I went through the exact same process as you, however as of now, they have still not taken the money out of my debit account. I also ordered a couple of days earlier than you. maybe they will take the money out when my order ships?
I'm going to go to my local Carphone Warehouse tomorrow anyway, it's only two minutes away from my house, and I'm going to see if they can confirm my order there.
Ordered from the cpw website on Friday morning. Got a email confirming they have taken payment and passed all credit checks on Friday evening and my iPhone 5 order is now guaranteed and reserved.
Now just to play the delivery game with yodel on Friday.

Now I am nervous, it has been days since I finalised my order and am yet to receive any sort of confirmation from them.
I will definitely be on the phone and going to their shop tomorrow to sort this out.
Hi, I used to work for Orange up till a couple of months ago in one of their stores.
They will never allow discount on a newly launched iPhone, it normally takes about 2 months before they give the "Perk" discount you are referring to.
As for stock, depends completely on how busy the store is, they prioritise stores with large footfall, but if you pre order you should be able to get one within a week of launch at worst

They confirmed while the order is with O2, CPWH are supplying the phone.
They said the phone should arrive on the 21st.
After my last dealings with CPWH a few years ago, I'm not holding out much hope.

I had a nightmare with Yodel/CPW at 4S launch. Everything went fine until launch day when I woke up expecting to see 'out for delivery' for status hadn't changed since evening before. After numerous calls to both I found out at about 2pm that the package had been addressed to 'East Sussex' not even post code so it was sat in a depo in the midlands somewhere.
I cancelled my order and luckily got one from a store on sat morning!
Its never parcelforce.
Apple only use reliable couriers like UPS and TNT. Although its always a lottery on launch day due to the pressure these companies will be under.
Hopefully whoever delivers it has a sorting place at east mids airport, as mine is being delivered 2 minutes away in castle donington ... presuming they get flown into east mids!!

Does your serial begin with a C?
My original 4S was a C serial and the screen was amazing on it, it got replaced with a 32GB version and the serial was a D one and it wasn't quite as good
