What is Orange shipping to me that is being delivered tomorrow (have tracked through ukmail and has been collected and is ready for delivery)? Is it likely to just be new nano sim?
I had this and then checked with the Twitter people who said it was a mistake. I was still not sure so rang Orange and the rep I spoke to just after 9 on Friday morning had ordered a 4 by mistake
The 4 had to be cancelled and recalled from the carrier before they will let me order again. Major mess up.:(I know I ordered a 5 as the price of the phone was discussed

I've just signed up as I've been reading this thread since around page 40.

Thanks for all the tips etc.

I pre-ordered the iPhone 5 at 8:01am on Friday morning. I'm due the iPhone 5 on Friday. #Can'tWait

Anyways, my question is that I'm going to call O2 shortly to ask them to cancel my contract and receive my PUT code.

I'm just wondering if it's only 3 still who have pay as you go deals for their customers? I don't know whether to go on 3 as I don't know what their reception is like in my area, although their map shows good signal in my area.

O2 have always been a good network to me, so I am tempted to stay with them. But they've clearly handled this and other releases poorly in the past. I want a network that I can trust as well as one where I can receive a strong signal. Their £15.90 deal looks amazing with unlimited data.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

T-Mobile

Just got off the blower with TMobile (25 min wait and that was with the retention's team) CS said they had still little information regarding when they would get the Nano sims but should be able to sort something out by Saturday

I said this was unacceptable as the Phone gets launched on Friday and the Nano sims should have been sorted way in advance. I even told them to take a leaf from '3''s book who have had them ready to go since last week.

They have now taking my details and will give me a call back from Wednesday for an update with the possibility of sending one out.

Welcome to MacRumors :)

As far as I know, 3 offer the better PAYG deals, but I know others like Vodafone do as well as of course, O2.

What's a PUT code?

They didn't want to know when I called them and said every other network (except Orange which is the same anyway) has their act together. Just said they couldn't comment on other networks.

The twitter account just keeps saying they will have more information next week.

Hopefully whoever delivers it has a sorting place at east mids airport, as mine is being delivered 2 minutes away in castle donington :) ... presuming they get flown into east mids!!

I wish they used DHL. I work at DHL East Midlands Airport cargo hub, I might be able to intercept my iPhone.

Though it might be hard to find it in a 450,000Sqft warehouse.

Its a PAC code not a PUt code.

Good luck phoning to cancel though. They are too busy to deal with cancellations at the minute so just disconnect you and tell you to phone back.

Isn't most of the domestic side of DHL now handled by Yodel? I wouldn't want to wish Yodel on anyone they are awful.

Hi, I used to work for Orange up till a couple of months ago in one of their stores.

They will never allow discount on a newly launched iPhone, it normally takes about 2 months before they give the "Perk" discount you are referring to.

As for stock, depends completely on how busy the store is, they prioritise stores with large footfall, but if you pre order you should be able to get one within a week of launch at worst

Thanks mandos - I wasn't that optomistic re the discount at launch anyway! I should have mentioned the draw of EE is probably the major reason I am leaving O2. Fingers crossed Orange also look at the levels of reservations at each store and allocate some of their initial stock accordingly Am hoping not many people will be ordering a 64gb to give me a better chance but I know that they will most likely also stock less of the 64gb too!

I just ordered a black 32GB from the apple site but I am looking at 2-3 weeks delivery.
If I join a queue on Friday morning at my local store in Belfast, can I cancel the order if I manage to pick one up?
Thanks.

I'm not too sure. I work on the IT side of things for DHL Aviation branch at East Midlands Airport. DHL Express handle the door to door deliveries.

Because i'm an IT Technician there, I have full security access to every part of the building. If my iPhone comes through, I *will* intercept it :D

My Vodafone web tracking number now works.

But in the email, I noticed it says my estimated delivery date is 24 sep.:(

This happened last year with the 4S where I got it on a Monday instead of Friday. I hope I don't have the repeat....
