I just ordered a black 32GB from the apple site but I am looking at 2-3 weeks delivery.
If I join a queue on Friday morning at my local store in Belfast, can I cancel the order if I manage to pick one up?
Thanks.

When it goes to preparing for shipping you can cancel but you can return the phone when you receive it.

Does anyone know what parcelforce (that is the delivery company rite?) do when there is nobody home? Do they leave a card and get you to collect it or do you have to wait for them to attempt redelivery?

I work for Parcelforce (Charlton depot) the phones are security packaged and will get delivered first thing in the morning from 7:30-9am (that's if you've paid for before 9am delivery) because it's a security package, if no one is in, we'll post a "739 card" in your letter box to let you know that we've tried to deliver the parcel and will try again the following day. If its 9am delivery, with Parcelforce, then I'd advise you to be up by 7am because we have other drivers that start at 7am. Hope this helps!

Glad O2 have finally got their act together with Nano SIM's for existing customers who have bought directly through Apple.

This has kept changing - last week is was collect from stores on launch day, this morning it was collect in stores from Tuesday, and now its currently showing collect in stores Monday PM.

OK, really angry with Orange now!
Just for the heck of it decided to try UKmail tracking number I was sent in a text.
Apparently it is at the delivery location for delivery tomorrow. This is the 4 which was ordered by a muppet from Orange by mistake. NOT me, as I said previously, remember discussion about the price etc. of iphone 5.
Rang them yesterday after getting the text as alarm bells started ringing. Was put on to supervisor who admitted it was their mistake, but said they could not order me an iphone 5 until they had the other one back, so he was going to get in touch with the carrier to get them to return item. Obviously this did not happen so I will now, I assume, have to return the 4 before I can order the 5.
So annoyed.
I know in the large scheme of things a few days is not important, but it's the INCOMPETENCE of two people, one of them in a supervisory position that I find unacceptable.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

You should refuse delivery of the 4 and the courier will return it at Orange's cost.

Upgraded my rolling one plan with three to contract (saves a £100 over the 24 months and get the iphone on free credit)

They gave me a nano sim and adaptor which was activated overnight and is now in my 4, so just have to swap when i pick up the phone friday morning

64gb Black for £109 + £42pm for the one plan

That's good news although I'm very likely to change to Everything Everywhere through T-Mobile as I'm not keen on staying with O2 moving forward. EE/T-Mobile offer a better plan with more included for less plus there is the option of 4G to look forward too. The only thing I will miss from O2 is visual voicemail but I think I can live without that.

Would this make it a slow return?
I think I have been spoiled by Amazon's CS, who are brilliant.
They should return it the next day or the day after - which will be about the same time as you returning it by another method.

Get Hullomail, great replacement for vvm

Yes I've heard of that. I'll give that a try if I move away from O2 which is likely. I don't even get a full signal with O2 at home or work which is another reason to leave them. I think I'm going to call them for a PAC code and go to a T-Mobile store and sign up for one of their SIM only deals.

You can try the free version which is just your basic vvm - If you upgrade they send you an email/mp3 of the voicemail, perfect if you're abroad etc..

Anyone from UK got any information when trying to track on UPS ? (As can be seen on the Apple preorder thread)

Apparently 3 mobile orders are delivered by DPD

Anyone had any dealings with them before??
DPD in my experience are excellent. They normally provide a 1 hour delivery slot once the driver has loaded his van. Been using them for years and they have never missed this slot.
