DPD in my experience are excellent. They normally provide a 1 hour delivery slot once the driver has loaded his van. Been using them for years and they have never missed this slot.

Three will email you the night before (Thursday) with your delivery number and give you the opportunity to name your delivery time then

I see America preorder are moving already can we in the UK use the same trick to find our UPS tracking info? I tried with my number but got nothing yet....I'm such a child lol

I've tried to no avail.

I'm having the same issue. I think US orders are moving out, but UK orders are not. I have a theory though..

When I ordered my 4S, it went to America before being routed to the UK. So it was sent with the american orders too.

However, the newer Retina MBP's were sent straight to Heathrow airport in the UK - this is obviously much quicker. So us UK may not see any movement until tuesday or wednesday, as it only takes a day to deliver after arriving in the UK.

That doesn't sound right, I'll give UPS a call tomorrow to see if there's anything in my name coming through.

My last phone I ordered and got delivered was the 3G so i can't remember who the courier was.

Are we sure its going to be UPS for us? Who handled the the 4S last time?

I've no idea why I'm bothered with checking the status of the phone. I'm working 12hr shifts all week, so even if it comes Thursday, it wont be looked at until Friday evening.

God dammit Apple, why don't you just send them out as soon as they're ordered!

That's good news although I'm very likely to change to Everything Everywhere through T-Mobile as I'm not keen on staying with O2 moving forward. EE/T-Mobile offer a better plan with more included for less plus there is the option of 4G to look forward too. The only thing I will miss from O2 is visual voicemail but I think I can live without that.

Can we do that, switch networks. I had a feeling the iPhone locked to the network which is first used. So for example. I put in an O2 sim card and that phone would be locked to O2? No?

You think thats bad. I'm away until Saturday and my wife is threatening to not text me when she has it! (I'm on a boys weekend away for the first time in 3 years). It's going to be a long Friday night.

I dont mind any other courier except Citylink had 3 item delivered by them in the past one being my 3rd gen iPad, And they can never find my address (or dont even try to) any other courier has no problems at all, My nearest citylink depot is 32 miles away so that's 64 miles round trip for me everytime something comes with citylink

For all of you guys out there. Here's a little teaser from last year [the box my girlfriend's iPhone came in].

Unfortunately, UPS tracking doesn't show the route.

Well, it was with Syncreon at some point - but I bought this iPhone in November. I do not have my original box.

If you buy it from Apple (pay full price) then it is not carrier locked. If you buy it from a carrier on PAYG (full price) then it will be locked to that carrier until you get it unlocked, which most do without a problem.

Is that a bit of jealousy there? Either jealous of being out with the boys or the iPhone ;) She'll be sat with it playing games on your return I'm sure.

Welcome to MacRumors :)

As far as I know, 3 offer the better PAYG deals, but I know others like Vodafone do as well as of course, O2.

What's a PUT code?

Apparently it's called a PAC Code, fail!

Cool… some of my family are on Vodafone, signal is OK.

But O2s offers don't seem anywhere near as good as 3s.

Its a PAC code not a PUt code.

Good luck phoning to cancel though. They are too busy to deal with cancellations at the minute so just disconnect you and tell you to phone back.

Thanks for the head's up.

 You're right, I just tried. They shouldn't be allowed to do that, IMO. If you're wanting to leave today, you should be able to… anyways, I'll probably go into an O2 store this week and cancel from there. Tinkers.

I am thinking to go on 3 now, their offers seem too good to be true.

I've had great luck with O2 sticking to the cost of my bill though.

Is it still common for other contracts to be charged much more than you should have been charged? That's what I seemed to have before I moved to O2. Orange even lied to me twice saying they'd never received my call when I'd cancelled with them for two consecutive months. T Mobile were similar.

I've Pre-ordered from Apple, so that means I can switch networks (planning to go EE when avaliable) as many times as I want? Thanks.

Anyone from UK got any information when trying to track on UPS ? (As can be seen on the Apple preorder thread)
I use UPS all the time at work. Just to pre-warn you the tracking info is not that accurate. The shipments from America show the customs final destination out of sync all the time. For example.
Philadelphia USA
Castle Donignton UK
Philadelphia USA
Castle Donington UK
Tamworth UK
Out for delivery
So if you look on the day after it's shipped it looks like its already in the country!

wow, been following this thread since page 1! so decided to join and put in my 2p

Ordered an iPhone 5/32GB/White off Apple at 8:00:46 AM

Got it off the Apple Store app - no issues.

Would like to thank the person who posted the check your iPhone serial number link - didn't even know the support profile was user accessible!

To check your iPhone week of production, grab its serial number and put it in this decoder - http://www.chipmunk.nl/klantenservice/applemodel.html

I am week 32.

I'm planning on running mine on giffgaff, £15pm.

Have got nano sim cutter and a bunch of prototype nano sims i've made, if they're successful in working i'll be selling them on ebay, or you can PM me if you want me to shave your current micro sim down to a nano sim. :apple:

My details are as such:

Production year: 2012
Production week: 34 (August)
Memory - number of slots: Please tell us how many memory (RAM) slots this machine has.
Factory: C3 (China)

That clears up why the thing I used couldn't decipher it.

UKMail did some too last year. Mine was delivered by UKMail.

Think it was a mixture of UPS, UKMail and possibly TNT.

I don't really like UK Mail....

Go to the o2 website and wait for the live chat window to pop up, tell them you want your PAC code, they will transfer you to a sales bod, once it connects you can get it from them

Mine is week 35 apparently.

I don't get how guys can have week 38/39 when week 38 starts tomorrow??

My mistake. I thought the number 38 in the serial number meant week 38. I've ran it through the chipmunk site and it's actually week 34.

Not likely. She wouldn't dare open it! I offered her my old iPhone 4 but she prefers my old Samsung D600 from around 2001. She uses her iPad but likes a phone to be just a phone so it's not something to worry about losing etc.
