Just had a phone call from O2 CS. They can now post out Nano sims as the process has appeared on their system. Mines should arrive on Wednesday. Hope this helps.

I've been insterestedin what folks have been saying about deliveries and Orange so I called them up. I preordered (upgrade) over the phone at about 08.20 last Friday. As we know, Orange had all sorts of problems processing the orders, eventually being able to do it by adding the cost of the upgrade to my bill. I then paid the same amount to my bill from my cc.
Anyhoo, I called them today to see if I could get them to tell UK Mail to leave it next door if I wasn't in. I probably won't be. The woman on the upgrades team reckoned that no orders could go anywhere but the billing address and that Apple have said that they're not allowed to change this. So I asked if mine was going to deliver on Friday 21st, to which she said none of the phone operators would be able to deliver on Friday as they're only released on Friday!! She then suggested that Orange deliveries would be the Monday at the earliest! I told her that other operators are claiming to be delivering on the Friday to which she retorted that this was impossible as they could only send them out on the Friday!!
I reckon she's probably talking balls, but she said that I'd get a text from UK Mail once they had the package to arrange a choice if 3 delivery days, starting on the 24th, ffs..
She also said that the nano sim would come with the phone, which I suppose is something. Ah well, here's hoping it comes on Friday anyway, although chances are nobody will be in.
Anyone heard different from Orange? I assume it's the same as T-Mobile being under the EE banner together.

Orange are faffing about with it, I think they said something like 'we hope to have PAYG nano sims by Friday!' oh, you hope, do you? You'd better do more that just hope, or else we'll probably all migrate somewhere else.

That's why i love buying the phone, can always leave when one useless company don't get their act together.....and can always come back later if i want.

I've got my sandpaper at the ready
for my Giffgaff SIM, but in case I mess it up I've also got a PAC code from them. Looks like 3 are doing the best deal at the mo, on the one month rolling contract, but I might pay a little bit more and go elsewhere, as I have heard several nightmare stories from friends and colleagues about trying to cancel with 3. Hopefully if Giffgaff get their act together I can go back to them soon.
I've just had a phone call direct from Apple saying that due to a "logistics issue" my iPhone will not be delivered on the 21st. It will be Monday or Tuesday. They apologise for the unexpected issue and are trying to contact all those affected.

That's a lie, they block it for every tariff that doesn't have it specified that its included, but is available as a chargeable add-on...
The T-Mobile rep I spoke to laughed at me when I asked If I would be receiving the phone on friday.
She said it would ship after they receive their inventory which is on the 21st.
Keeping my hopes up for the 21st...
The @orangehelpers have been saying all day that the iPhone 5 deliveries will start on the 21st which I took to mean they'll start sending them out that day, so I asked and they said that customers would start to get them on the 21st.

No...mine's been at "preparing for shipment" since Saturday.
What's there to prepare? Why don't they be a little more honest and have a status "stalling until nearer the release date"? Thank you! Very helpful. I think I'll try the £12.90 all you can eat contract and with no tethering add on and see how I get on.

@OrangeHelpers We're aiming to deliver initial pre orders for 21 September however we are advising it can be up to 30 days
T-Mobile are now saying on Twitter that you can pick up sims in store on Friday, not great but better than the rumours they wouldn't have any until the start of October. Just hope my phone isn't delivered too late now so the store is still open.

Are you saying that you can tether on Three without adding Tethering as an additional £5 bundle?Yes, I asked in a T-Mobile shop today and they said that too.
The 3 shop said they would have them in-store on Thursday, if you're going on a contract.
I asked in Virgin and they just laughed, they said they had only just recently got the micro SIMS in!
Stu - I was with o2 for the past 4 years or so. When it came round to renewing my contract, they wouldn't budge on a good deal. I've been an o2 simplicity customer (12 month) customer with them and I was going through Tescos tarrif - and they were working out cheaper... the funny part is that Tesco actually use o2's network/mast for coverage!
So I signed up to Tesco - 12 months and its the same deal as you (1GB internet, 5000 texts) for £10.50 a month! o2, similar deal (512mb) were giving it to me for £17.50 or so... told them to shove the deal where it don't shine.
Been with Tesco now for 5 months - great service & support. Couldn't be happier.

Got my O2 nano SIM today - seemed like they'd just received a massive box of around 100/150 odd SIM packs.
O2 store at the O2 arena, North Greenwich, London btw. Although wasnt too impressed with the store clark telling me to go online and start a text chat with online customer services to swap my SIM on Friday.

Reminds me of when I ordered my MacBook Pro. I tracked it to Busan (South Korea) then the blinkin' ash cloud over Europe from the Icelandic volcano stopped it in its tracks. A very frustrating few days!
Austin, it is not a lie and the point I was trying to make was yes, your supposed to have a bundle but they don't require it. I am typing this to you now, on my iPad, tethered to my iPhone on a £12 a month plan with no tethering bundle.
Ive done it on my previous three payg sim, my wife does it on her £12 three 30 monthly sim as do I. We always keep within our 1gb limit.
