EE frequency bands
Im on O2, have been for 5 Years and I'm going to get the iPhone 5, but likely to go SIM free or switch to Orange or T-Mobile.
WHY YOU MAY ASK.
I have just read an article from the telegraph that quotes,
"The model of Apples iPhone 5 aimed at Europe includes just one band that can use some European 4G networks, and in the UK is unlikely to ever be compatible with Vodafone and O2s 4G networks when they are launched next year.
By contrast, the new iPhone includes both the 850MHz and the 2100MHz, which are key for a phones success in the smaller markets of Japan and South Korea.
Sources close to the mobile networks said Apple had made the decision to use the 1800MHz and 850MHz 4G bands to allow it to mount a serious campaign against dominant players such as Samsung in their home markets.
They claimed that only the next model of the iPhone would offer 4G frequencies that would be useful for Europe-wide usage. Without the crucial 800MHz frequency, 4G services will be largely unavailable on the iPhone 5 in UK rural areas."
So it seems if your interested in 4G on your iPhone 5 EE is your only choice as the other spectrum frequencies, once available, won't work making other networks unable to make 4G work with it.
