*sigh of relief* I was wondering about the map and delivery areas.

I am near Brighton UK, right down the bottom there, so I should see delivery on 21/9

Aberdeen is right up there on the right in the light blue, so 21 - 27 delivery date :(

Thanks. Looks like I best go fully armed with passport etc. just to be on the safe side. Seems overkill for a sim card but there you go...

this was for a contract phone...

when you said sim i thought you meant a contract sim card... id just go with everything like you said :p

hadn't seen the delivery map. Still very annoying though as my Apple store order checker still days delivers 21/9

It might just get there on 21/9 you never know! - they probably give the 21-27 date to cover themselves as a just in case.

So do you think that it is safe to say that our iPhones are coming from the UK instead of China since Apple hasn't sent out 'Shipped' emails yet? '

I was wondering that. Mine still says prepared for shipment (black 32gb email confirmation at 08:25)

Seems odd if so, doubt they'd risk sending the phones from China to the UK on the week of release... I'm no expert but I'd imagine they've been stored in the UK well before the release day..?

Under 'Delivery Date Information'

Well, I hope so.

But theoretically, if no delays were to occur, they could fly out Thursday afternoon (GMT time, from China) and be with us for Friday. That would be cutting it really fine though. Although technically feasible, any holdups in customs, weather, traffic, would leave at least some people without an IP5 on Friday.

It is more likely they will ship out Tuesday, or Wednesday at latest to leave 1 day spare for sorting out delays. I'd sleep much easier if I saw them ship out from Ireland tonight similar to where the iPad 3 came from, though.

Apple must be skimping on deliveries, especially in Scotland. These are by no means cut off areas. I don't live in an affected area, but other than the real highlands and islands, there is no excuse for that patchwork map.
Is it too much to expect apple to go the extra mile in exchange for our "apple tax"?

Seems odd to have that delivery area east of Inverness, but not to Inverness or Aberdeen...

Yeah I thought that, my cousin lives in Ayr and he also got a phone call saying there would be a slight delay. Seems strange when its so close to Glasgow.

O2 Nano Sims Being Distributed In Store

Here's my brief story that might be useful for some people. I will be getting my iPhone this Friday from Apple.

I was initially on O2 on a Simplicity contract that had expired. That contract was rolling on for years and therefore, whilst they don't offer it anymore, I still was paying £20 a year for Unlimited Texts, 600 minutes and Unlimited Internet. As long as I didn't change my contract, that would always remain the same.

With O2 initially not announcing when and how we can get nano sims, like many of you, I also switched over to Three on a monthly contract (the £12.90 one). I got my PAC code from O2 and they told me that the contract doesn't expire until that PAC code is actually used.

When I called up Three, I signed up but told them that I would not be using my PAC code yet until I get my nano sim card in the post. They sent one out and it should be arriving tomorrow.

During this wait, I found out today that O2 are now doing nano sims. I called up my local O2 store in Westfield London (White City) and asked them about the nano sim cards. They said they can give me one if I came down. I went down and picked up three (one for brother and dad too). They didn't question anything, they simply gave them to me.

They also activated my nano sim for me (migrated my number from micro sim to nano sim) since I had the adapter (the sim packet comes with one anyways), so I wanted that fully acticated and ready to go for Friday. In the meantime, I would just use the micro sim adapter and use it in my iP4.

I then called up Three when I got home and told them that I'd like to cancel. Their customer support was superb. Man was very nice and told me that if I call up tomorrow once I get my sim, they can cancel without any charges applied, as long as I don't use their service. I have 14 days to cancel, so will do that tomorrow.

I am currently awaiting for my O2 nano sim to get activated. I assume this will take a little longer (but still well within 24 hours) due to the number of requests they probably have at this time. I now have my nano sim essentially ready to go and I remain on O2 with a great contract.

People who went to Three as a last resort just so they can start using their iP5 on Friday might want to look into doing something similar if they can.

I've just ordered a sim via the phone with O2. I was the first person to ask this particular adviser for one and it was on the very last screen. She said she would need to remember where it was!

What options are people choosing when phoning O2? I haven't had any luck yet. Got transferred to customer services, and got cut off, tried a different option, persisted, but he said the option still wasn't on the system. Thanks!

Especially annoying knowing they are delivering to a store less than a 20 min walk away...
