Just went to check to see what would happen if i spoof ordered from Three website:

"Estimated delivery date: Tuesday, 2nd October.
Your contract will not start until we dispatch your device. "

Ordered Friday and CS said at the time they will deliver for Friday 21st, funny thing is though ive had no texts or anything to confirm.. though they have taken the £79 out of my account. Slightly worrying

Exactly the same here. Did you get the information about delivery? I called back as I got nothing and they said DPD will email us on Thursday to check we want it delivered on Friday or the Monday, it must save them the trip in case your not in. For delivery Friday, guaranteed. Although mine was placed at 8am on the Saturday. Up until about yesterday or the day before Three showed as Still being able to deliver on the 21st. Only now have they changed to the 2nd of October so by this I assume they are comfortable with their stock levels and what they have told you. So if they said Friday, it will be Friday. As annoying as it is just got to wait it out.. Hahaha.

So what contracts have people gone for and why?

I'm on Three but thinking of switching to T-Mobile and then a switch to EE (price dependent - according to some sources the use of 4G may increase the monthly tariff by up to £10).

On the flipside, if the EE prices are too high and don't offer TRULY unlimited data then I'll stick with Three which has unlimited data (no fair usage policy either unline T-Mobile) AND tethering.

For me, truly unlimited data (and maybe tethering) will form my decision as to which network I'll go to. I can go without 4G for a year on Three, especially if it's going to cost an arm and a leg.

I have phoned Three up a few times, They can't give us any other information, the only thing they can say is that the courier wont be contacting us until Friday morning..... (the sales team last friday quoted Thursday)

I have the day booked of worked... lets hope we get some details tomorrow

Really when was you told Friday. I have been told at least three times that they would send an email on Thursday!

Had the same problem last night, i had more luck with this. Only had to wait about 15 mins.

Not sure they will sort cancellations over live chat.

Ditto, day off for me too. Will rage if they cock this up

I've had two confirmations one email and one text, since I'm upgrading. One told me how much is due since its an upgrade, which is around 120 pounds as it includes first month of the bill and handset. The other text states that on Friday I will get a text with a delivery slot time.

Im a new customer so probaly works slighty different. Tried to get an order number off Three but CS said its way too long to take over the phone but "rest assured, we are aiming to get all the initial batch of pre-orders out for the agreed date of 21st".

Lets see what tomorrow/early friday brings...

Just seen that my order has now moved for delivery between 21st and 24th. Little dissapointing that its because its in Aberdeen, I could go to the store a mile away and get one on the day if I wasnt working.

Heads up for anybody that ordered an iphone from three using quidco seems there was a problem just received this
Hi,

I am getting in touch because of a recent tracking issue we have experienced with iPhone 5 pre-orders through Three Mobile.

We know that you clicked on our Three link recently but that no cashback has been tracked yet. If you didn't decide to buy anything please don't worry, you can ignore this message. However, if you did go ahead and pre-order the new iPhone we need you to raise a cashback claim straight away to help us get the cashback tracked.

You can raise a claim via the link below. Please have your 8 or 12 digit order reference to hand when raising the claim;

https://www.quidco.com/new-enquiry/

To ensure we can deal with this promptly for you, please submit the claim no later than 21 days from now.

After you raise the claim we'll take care of everything for you and keep you updated with the progress. Providing you raise the claim promptly this will not cause any delays but please do accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Kind regards,

Fran

Only that the early pre-orders will be honoured first and thats still scheduled for Friday...

Three must be getting bombarded with delivery queries today. Though to be fair to them (and i agree with your last sentence), we just got to wait it out until Friday until we go physco at them :D

On another note, they dont actually have my email addy so I guess they will text instead? did you mean email?

I phoned up Yesterday and the day before, both times the CS rep told me to expect to be contacted Friday morning.

I have the day off work so not really fussed, but would love to have a bit more info before Friday if I can

Ive actually been on a rolling o2 contract for the last 5 months but just cut that as o2 have been a nightmare the last couple of months, firstly by cocking up my broadband and then a mobile deal issue.

Gone with Three:

Apple iPhone 5
16GB Black.
Ultimate Internet 500.
24 month contract
£79 upfront
£34 a month

One of the best deals i could find to be honest

My best friend (Mrs Apple known to her friends these days) just text me

"I JUST GOT TO HOLD AN IPHONE 5!!"

ROFL

----------

Just found out Three's website clearly went wonky on me when i submitted my port request, I had to do it again today :/ but finally got a text confirmation!

Just spoke to orange. The woman stated they won't get the stock til Friday, so they will be sent out that day, so people won't get them til Monday!! They said they don't know how much they are getting from apple and stated apple didn't anticipate the demand! I said others have been told they are getting the phone Friday and she said that some may get it Friday (totally contradicting what she said earlier!!)

Frustrating!!!!

I ordered mine through Quidco late yesterday afternoon and was a bit worried it hadn't tracked but I got a tracking confirmation this morning luckily.

Do you think because I ordered on the Saturday I am not considered an 'early' preorder'er. Do you think I will have to wait longer or because I was given those dates I'm cool?

Someone else preordered on behalf of me since I'm on holiday. What exactly were you hoping to hear? Don't you just go in Friday to collect it?

They said they would ring me to confirm about delivery as well as opening times etc as they thought they'd open doors early but had no communication from their head office yet. They were scrabbling in the morning so wasn't too convinced about how definite it was for Friday. Popping into town soon anyhow so will ask 'em and write back on here what they say.

I don't understand why people call the networks and expect to get good answers...

You can pretty much guarantee that everyone who mans the phones at a network knows less than most of the posters in this thread.

I was told by T-mobile the full monty is completely unlimited. I am moving from O2 & can live without tethering. Is this not correct. I originally signed for 300 mins 1.5gb data & unlimited texts for £36 but was told the full monty has no limits at all? They changed my contract to the new one. Have I been misled?

I ordered mine on Monday morning with a 1st October estimate. Do you mean the estimates moved back to Friday Oct 21st after that? I'm hoping that means my order gets bumped up to Friday as well.

I'm also hoping they use DPD for delivery as it means I can pop hope in the one hour time slot they always give you.

Sorry I should have said September 21st. Perhaps you ordered something better than a 16gb black 5?

I ordered mine yesterday, and it will apparently be delivered this Friday.

I've upgraded my rolling O2 contract to a new 24 month contract:

Unlimited Minutes
Unlimited Texts
1GB Data

For £26 a month and a £249 upfront fee for the 16GB iPhone 5.

From my calcuations, it's actually the cheapest 24 month contract for the 16GB iPhone 5. I was tempted to go sim free but it works out more expensive over the 24 month period, especially because I use a lot of minutes. 1GB is more than enough for me because i'm always connected to WiFi so don't see the need for unlimited data usage. Also, i'm not too fussed about LTE coverage for now; O2 will be offering DC-HSDPA with speeds that are more than adequate for me. They've also said that when they switch to 4G, they'll allow customers to switch to a 4G compatible phone for a one off charge as part of their 4G price promise.

I actually like O2 and have never really had a problem with them. They have nice little perks like priority moments which I make use of. When I have had problems, it's always been sorted out for me really quickly. But I guess with recent network outage issues and their awful preorder protocol, a lot of people have had enough.

For those who are looking at pre-activating their nano-SIM in an earlier iPhone via an adaptor, I've found my Three one will not work in my iPhone 3GS, simply saying "No Service", however in my Dad's iPhone 4 it worked straight away.

Nope there isn't even a fair usage policy so for once they've given you correct information!

Do you know when abouts the first month will be charged? 3 told me it'll be a week later, but a week later from what! Running about like a madman trying to find out!

Is your 3GS unlocked to work on any network?

If it is I suggest plugging your 3GS (With the new nano-sim) into iTunes and sync the phone. This'll change the carrier to your new one.

Also, is your nano-sim activated? If it aint, then you'll have to get it activated 1st.

That's a good deal. Three offer some good packages and their network is pretty reliable. Hope that when they release the 4G contracts in a year that they are not too steep.
