Hi all
There are so many conversations going on that I lose track of which provider people are talking about.
Would it be an idea if people put the name of the firm in the title line of their post?

My Three port request apparently failed. Do you have to insert the nano SIM and have it activated before you do the port request?

I was told by T-mobile the full monty is completely unlimited. I am moving from O2 & can live without tethering. Is this not correct. I originally signed for 300 mins 1.5gb data & unlimited texts for £36 but was told the full monty has no limits at all? They changed my contract to the new one. Have I been misled?
No it's not totally correct.

It's actually limited to 1GB a month for the Full Monty plan, if you go over that then you can still browse and read e-mails but they may stop you from downloading and streaming videos. Pretty lame.

Do you think because I ordered on the Saturday I am not considered an 'early' preorder'er. Do you think I will have to wait longer or because I was given those dates I'm cool?

I think anything up until yesterday/today should be Friday. Obviously the earleir the better, to hazard a guess id say anyone ordering either Friday or the weekend should be inline for Friday delivery.

Guess it all comes down to Three stock, looking at just this forum it seems a LOT of people are going to go with Three this time out. Fingers crossed for you :)

I've upgraded my rolling O2 contract to a new 24 month contract:

Unlimited Minutes
Unlimited Texts
1GB Data

For £26 a month and a £249 upfront fee for the 16GB iPhone 5.

From my calcuations, it's actually the cheapest 24 month contract for the 16GB iPhone 5. I was tempted to go sim free but it works out more expensive over the 24 month period, especially because I use a lot of minutes. 1GB is more than enough for me because i'm always connected to WiFi so don't see the need for unlimited data usage.
See I'm quite a heavy user. I use Wi-Fi in work and at home yet still go ove 1GB a month. To make the msot of the iPhone features like turn-by-tun sat nav then I need over 1GB.

So what contracts have people gone for and why?

I'm on Three but thinking of switching to T-Mobile and then a switch to EE (price dependent - according to some sources the use of 4G may increase the monthly tariff by up to £10).

On the flipside, if the EE prices are too high and don't offer TRULY unlimited data then I'll stick with Three which has unlimited data (no fair usage policy either unline T-Mobile) AND tethering.

For me, truly unlimited data (and maybe tethering) will form my decision as to which network I'll go to. I can go without 4G for a year on Three, especially if it's going to cost an arm and a leg.

1) EE have said there MIGHT be an increase for some tariffs. nothing has been publicly said yet so everything is speculation

2) on the full monty plan, there are no fair usage policies. I have truly unlimited data, texts and minutes on my contract. not tethering though.

3) unless you live in one of the big cities, 4G won't be anywhere near you for a lot longer than a year :(

That's a good deal. Three offer some good packages and their network is pretty reliable. Hope that when they release the 4G contracts in a year that they are not too steep.

I actually asked about the 4G when ordering and sales women stated that I wouldnt be put on a seperate contract, i could just start using 4g whenever it was available, no charge and wouldnt have to do anything....

Has anyone actually gotten through to O2 over the last couple of days??!

Im trying to cancel an old rolling contract as going with Three for the iphone 5.

Ive tried to call 4 times and now a little bored of working thier way through the entire now 45 album :(

Call 1 - 34 minutes, gave up
Call 2- 46 minutes, gave up
Call 3 - 22 minutes, gave up
Call 4 - 49 minutes :( ......

Annoying..

Online chat :) waited 20 mins for an agent, received PAC code. Those saying you can't cancel via chat, once you give your PAC to your new operator, your previous contract is terminated (final bill sent out 14 days later).

Those waiting to activate/port numbers on 3 should do it ASAP, my 3 nano sim took around 3 hours to fully activate, then porting number from O2 completed about an hour ago.

Can't see it being anywhere near as quick tomorrow but especially Friday. For me personally sitting waiting with my new iPhone for the sim to activate would drive me mad! :D

Im happier and happier that I went with Three. Cheap contract, unlocked phone.

And while we don't have 4G yet, they have great 3G coverage, along with HSPA+ meaning super fast 3G and look here!

Laster this year Three will be rolling out DC-HSPA support so we'll have immensely good speeds over 3G. Makes me feel a whole lot better about not getting 4G or the coverage just quite yet.

Now, question. I have my Three nano sim ready but its not activated and I don't have a phone I can do it in. If I can Three can they activate it for me now before the rush on Friday?

Incorrect, here is terms:

Our Full Monty plans will give you unlimited use of our internet on your phone service when you're in the UK. This means you can use as many MB/GB as you like and no fair use policy will apply. Please note, internet on your phone excludes using your phone as a modem (tethering) and network traffic controls apply. Your peer to peer file sharing experience will also be slower during peak hours. Remember, you can only use your SIM card in a mobile phone and you'll need internet coverage, check it at t-mobile.co.uk/streetcheck.

Is your 3GS unlocked to work on any network?

If it is I suggest plugging your 3GS (With the new nano-sim) into iTunes and sync the phone. This'll change the carrier to your new one.

Also, is your nano-sim activated? If it aint, then you'll have to get it activated 1st.

How would I know if it was activated or not? It had a strong 3G signal on 3. I've also had an email to say my number transfer from O2 will be going through tomorrow. I'll try syncing the 3GS with iTunes later.

I was just about to order a Factory Unlocked from Apple UK for my cousin, but the dispatch time just changed to 3-4 weeks with delivery between Oct 18-24. Damn

My right earbud has given up the ghost this morning. The bass has blown. The last part of my former iPhone 4 now headed to the trash :( Here's hoping the new earpods are all they're cracked up to be!

I don't understand why people call the networks and expect to get good answers...

You can pretty much guarantee that everyone who mans the phones at a network knows less than most of the posters in this thread.

2 reasons I called: 1. The person I spoke to there on Friday told me to call after Tuesday for more concrete details as they will have order details on system by then. 2. Some people on here seemed to get more solid details last night/today.

finally got my nano sim off o2. funny thing was they said they didn't have any until friday i then shown them a tweet i received off o2 and they miraculously appeared from behind the till o_O silly o2 lady haha

If you sync it with iTunes and it still doesnt work then phone 3 and ask if the card is activated.

Did you pick the sim up from a store of order over the phone?
