Sorry I should have said September 21st. Perhaps you ordered something better than a 16gb black 5?

I ordered mine yesterday, and it will apparently be delivered this Friday.

I ordered the 32GB black, maybe they only got extra 16GB ones :(.

How much are you gonna pay in total just for the phone and in what period?

Around 576 as opposed to 529 sir. So a fair bit more. But over 24 months its not that much. I'm trying to think of it as two separate contracts put together which is saving me quite a bit.

Not sure they will sort cancellations over live chat.
Ditto, day off for me too. Will rage if they cock this up

Im a new customer so probaly works slighty different. Tried to get an order number off Three but CS said its way too long to take over the phone but "rest assured, we are aiming to get all the initial batch of pre-orders out for the agreed date of 21st".

Lets see what tomorrow/early friday brings...

The tracking number is only like 10 numbers if it was DPD, but can be 21 or more if it's another courier. I wouldn't say it was all that different right now since I haven't had any contact since then either :/. I was speaking to their manager on saturday morning, but I think it would've been too early to ask. heh.

Back again

Hubby called to cancel with TMobile but when he phoned up they entyced him into a new contract. Does he have a cooling off period on this? He's not amused with the nano-sim situ at all lol

i wrote it like that because thats wot it says on my apple account lol

strange, I thought that was all localised for Europe so it would appear 21/9. Guess not. I never understood the logic of showing the date mm/dd/yyyy, it would be like putting the minutes before the hour then the seconds on a digital clock.

it would be easier if they just wrote the whole date 21st september 2012 but you never know with apple

That's not a fair comparison, you have to translate it into words. Such as September 11th, that's how we say it here, that's how they write it in date format.

It's interesting that you said "September 11th", because that's probably the only date (thanks to 9/11) that I say in that format. I never say "December 25th", I say "25th of December".

Sounds better then most contracts to me..well done.

Because it's more sense in terms of how it's written: 9/21 = September 21st. Whereas in Europe you need to add a 'of' between the date and the month, if you say the date without the 'of', then it doesn't make sense: 21/9 = 21st of September.

More photos for you lot today.

This time it's cheapass iPhone 5 covers as interims before nice stuff is release.

First up are the 'iPhone 5 Bumpers' on ebay for £2.95, I got them in black w/ clear sides and red. Quality seems ok, just ok though, black one has a better quality finish on the inside, the red one has small nubs of plastic residue on the inside.

Then we have the Hybrid Rubberised Back Cover Case, from Amaz. This is totally solid.

And then the Gel skin case, which is a bit flexible, and reflective as you can see.

I think I'll go with the shiny black one as it feels the nicest and less likely to cause any scratching.

That's pretty much spot on. Which part of the industry do you work in, Marky?

Lol - none I'm a civil servant but not with OFCOM I might add!

I just try my best to keep my eyes open and read the boring bits and get sadly interested in geeky factoids picked up here and there.

Regarding cell tower spectrums in use locally which I mentioned, there's a lovely site linked to earlier on in this thread I think, where you can check out various details about each cell tower anywhere, see who owns it, which spectrum they use on it etc etc

I've basically got my entire home area/ route to work and family mapped out by cell towers - I know I'm sad but hey ho :)

I want incase to hurry up so I can get myself a slider case! Had one on my 3GS since the beginning, dropped my phone all over the place and have actually thrown it a few times and the phone is still immaculate.

After reading a lot about screen protectors it seems that the Power Support Crystal protector comes out on top (with the SGP Crystal a very close second) - but does anybody know where I can get my hands on one?

I say Christmas, oh wait, that's September 21st :D

My Three port request apparently failed. Do you have to insert the nano SIM and have it activated before you do the port request?

might have been answered already but yes. I activated my nano SIM on the phone before they would accept my PAC code. looks like my number is ported now as when I ring it i get a different voicemail anwer then I did with Vodafone.

(don't have a phone to put nano sim in yet as I sold my 4)

does anyone else in the uk have their iphone order as preparing for shipment?

Yes.

Preparing for Shipment:
We are preparing your item(s) to dispatch. While your order is being prepared, we are unable to modify your order details. We will email you a Dispatch Notification with complete order details once your order leaves our warehouse.

Ordered @ 8am last Friday.

Hold fire on the tethering add on for now as you will find you can tether just fine without it. Sure, the T's and C's say you arnt permitted, it doesnt say you cant. Its like a speed limit, you shouldnt go faster, but you can. I'm on the £12 one which gives me 300 mins and 1GB and I can tether, as can the wife.

3's coverage is a lot better now. 97% of the country with 3G (they dont do 2G at all). I think the coverage other networks quote is including 2G voice.

Thanks for the heads up. Can u tell me how the tethering works on the iPhone, does it have to be jail broken to access it? Or is the iPhone hotspot option available to be enabled by default
