When did you order? plus is it Apple? As mine is. what was your estimated delivery date if it was from Apple? If you don't mind me asking.

Thanks in advance

I ordered at 08;05 from Apple on the 14th, been stuck on processing ever since until just now. Delievery est. set for the 21st

Not looking forward to Friday so much after all anymore. Just updated an iPad and Maps is a complete disaster on iOS6. What the f@ck were they thinking...

Because I don't want to have to wait in all day Friday for it to turn up at 7pm!
Quite often now when you track your order online it will give you some indication of the time, normally a 2hr window or at least say am/pm.

I don't know if UPS do this, if they don't then I guess I'll be waiting in until it arrives.

UPS don't offer that service. DPD are about the only ones that do, I think Yodel may offer it on some deliveries too.

Somewhat anti-climactic in the end. We got Preparing for Shipment and got stuck there for days because the phones were already in a warehouse on UK soil waiting for a label.

Now we get Shipped notification but our Tracking Numbers don't work/won't work until tomorrow. By which time it won't matter anymore because we already know it'll deliver by COB Friday.

Boring.

Still i'm grateful it was 'boring' and there were no hiccups.

Am i the only one who ordered after 9am and still has delivery for friday?

I ordered from the Apple Store app, had the confirmation email at 9:17am. All the way through this week it says it was expected on the 21st of September! Lucky or what?!

Tried putting my order/tracking numbers into the Syncreon website and I get this:

Tried both numbers either way and still no luck :(

When my MBA was shipped via UPS, I didn't get any 2 hour slot :( DPD are the best at this.

I predict carnage, come this weekend. :D

This last Friday, I missed a delivery from UPS and they left a note saying they will deliver the next business day (Monday). To my surprise, it was delivered the following day (Saturday) - the UPS delivery guy probably regretted ringing my bell at 9am in the morning... not a pretty sight.

Earlier today - I took delivery of a refurb iPad 2 which I placed from the online Apple store. It was meant to be delivered via UPS but UKMAIL delivered it and the guy said he said outright - "its going to be chaos this Friday & Saturday".... overtime, extra deliveries and drivers on the road.

All in all, should be fun :D

Turn by Turn looks good, the maps look nice. However the data of the maps, like store locations etc, seems SHOCKING. There were places listed in my area that closed down 10 years ago, and others were in the wrong place. Even Tescos etc were absent. I'm sure it's better in the US but in UK seems really bad.

That said, google maps often let me down by giving the incorrect locations, so I often safari a postcode before using maps. But it certainly had better knowledge than new maps!

I can live with new maps, I'll enjoy the turn but turn and look of them. But for now i'll keep my iPhone 4 on iOS5, as my dad will probably prefer google maps when he gets my phone.

yeah, mine works and I'm a new customer. Doesn't really help, it's been stuck at "Order Being Readied For Dispatch" since I ordered it at 08:34 last Friday. They've taken the money from my account though.

Mine was taken out on monday, but I know people have also had it taken out and been told by orange they need to reorder and pay again! Ive never had problems with Orange before..

They let Google release Chrome, that 'duplicates the functionality' of Safari.

I could be wrong but Chrome is a bastardised version of Safari / iOS WebKit on iOS; that's why they let it go in the App Store. And Safari is pretty good anyway. Cant say the same about Maps. If Apple give people a choice btwn their new Maps and Google Maps, Google would blow them away.

There is an Asda 1/2 a mile from me, maps app tried to send me to one about 15 miles away instead

What don't you like about it. Personally I think it's much better now.

Flyover is rubbish; even in Central London. Street View is a million times better. Also, some of the maps look like they were drawn in crayon by a four year old. Another thing I think is crap is that it tries to throw you into a separate app if you're looking for A-B public transport directions. It's not a very slick or integrated experience, exactly the opposite of what you'd expect from Apple.
