My 32gb Black that I ordered from Apple at about 10 past 8 on pre-order day only moved to "Preparing for Shipment Delivers 9/21" this morning. I have still not had my card charged.

This is starting to not bode well!

I spoke to Three last night about my order i placed over the phone (nothing major, the guy taking my order forgot to take an email address)

The guy said he cant add an address to my order but it wont cause any problems,

He then said....... And I Quote "If you give me a contact number then i will make a note on your account that we'll call you if there are any problems with our deliveries, At this point (6pm last night) we foresee no issues whatsoever, all stock levels are as we expected and we fully expect everyone to receive their handset on the date they were quoted"

He also said that had i given them an email address it would only be so "they could sent an email Thursday night, confirming next day delivery"

All in all, Dont stress, Im sure itll all be grand :D

Ahh thanks for this :) So just need to be patient and wait for an email tonight.

Yeah, I'm quite familiar with DFU mode being under a tether curse :(, everything I try fails. I'm not too bothered about getting iOS 6 on there, it would probably run far too slow for my liking, but if I could upgrade to an untethered iOS 5 jailbreak at least that would be nice :).

I'm gonna get in touch with Thatcher and see if he can help me out. Thanks for trying to help :p

I've been on IOS6 with my iPhone 4 for months now, the finished version is not slow at all, its faster than IOS 5.
Are you using a Mac or PC?

T Mobile

Just called again to have a laugh and got fed the same line as earlier in the week.

I hope its just the call centre staff being ill informed as opposed T Mobile being very disorganised!

I guess we will know either way today, no shiping details today, no phone tomorrow :(

Does anyone know what T-Mobile's stock is going to be like?

I'm hoping to pop in and get one at the weekend, but assuming that they will have either run out. Or just not have any in stock yet?

Anyone have any idea?

highly doubtful, with the amount of pre-orders and limited supply *I am assuming* the chances are slim, if not impossible... there is so much demand right now that I don't even think even Apple Store centers will have enough for everyone, and they tend to have more supply than the phone networks.

I tried that method last year with 4S with T-Mobile going to store on launch day, all they told me "out of stock now" but I can order one and get it in 2 weeks to my home, which what I ended up doing.

Do NOT worry, I ordered mine at 08:45am pre order day (UK) and mine is showing as "Shipped". Apple will charge your card just before you get your delivery or just after. Some users have had their card charged days after getting their iphone!

it all depends on who you bank with, credit card/debit card etc.

Very helpful info, makes me slightly more confident now :)

Just a quick question regarding the Maps app in iOS6 (I dont want to start another thread - also its UK Specific)

I assume everyone else gets ridiculously pixellated image (or no image at all) when zooming right in in Satellite mode??

The standard map is ok, just Satellite is unusable.

Im sure Apple will rectify but just wanted to see if other UK users are experiencing the same

Yep I get that too (UK) so I have added Google Maps back onto my iphone, as I cannot use the new maps. I need satellite imagery!

My EE store is a "quieter" one (that's what their manager said) and he thinks they will have spare phones but not many nano sims because of people buying the phone from apple. so it will depends if you are in a busy place or not

Thanks mate, guess the only thing I can do is nip in Saturday morning and see what happens.

Fingers crossed there will be one sat there just for me ;)

Orange

For anyone else upgrading with Orange, I just got off the phone with a reasonably helpful chap. My order is still showing as 'no stock' but he says that this will be the case for all phones until they are scanned into the system at Orange. The thing that worries menus if Orange themselves haven't processed them and they're just in a warehouse somewhere, what are the chances of actually gettin one tomorrow?!

He also mentioned that he hasn't seen anyone's order have any tracking details on it, but did say that he has a message on his 'launch pad' I think he called it, saying that orange were running low on stock of 16gb and 32gb iPhone 5 and they 'could no longer guarantee customers would reciever them on launch day'. He again said that as I'd ordered a 64gb , I should be ok but his language sounded car frilly chosen. A lot of hopefully's and likely's and should do's.

Who knows...

Anyone got anything different out of orange?

I'd be surprised if they are 'running low' on stock of those models. More likely that all stock of all models have been allocated and there's nothing of anything.

But more will come at some point. Of that much we can be sure!

Yes, it wouldn't hurt to try, I could be not as bad as it was for me as it will be for you :), good luck nonetheless ! and let us know how it went.

But I would strongly suggest going on Friday, the day of the launch and try your luck? assuming if they had extras, they'll be gone so quickly with current demands.

Just spoken to someone at Syncreon

Just spoke to someone at synceron, and the lady said that the iphone's are coming to them tonight - hence tracking numbers should work from tomorrow morning. UKMail will be distributing them.

This thread makes me laugh. Everyone checking status and getting worked up! We pre ordered the phone knowing it woul deliver on launch day, if your incredibly lucky a day early. Now it's the day before and your all worried it won't arrive. Chill out, they said tomorrow, you will get it tomorrow!

Ps, mines 'dispatched' via ups but no further info. That's fine, means its on schedule an that works for me!

Finally, some useful information that explains the tracking not working :)

Thanks

Agreed. I actually grew bored of checking after finding my tracking number doesn't work. Doesn't matter Apple have confirmed i'm getting it tomorrow so...

Only keeping up with the thread incase there's any last minute info i need to know.

Can I pay with cash at Apple store, I dont want to be queuing for hours for my card to be flagged by the bank and then I will mess about ringing them.

Except that I and others told you all previously that the tracking numbers would not work until they orders were scanned into the courier's systems for delivery.

Yes, we know that, but no one could prove whether they should have been scanned in or not. Now we know that they have not been picked up for sure, so we can all stop checking.

my tracking number doesn't work with ups although it gets shipped with them.
do i need to call apple to get the right one or is there any other possibility?

Guys what is the best was from moving from a Iphone 4 to a 5? is it just do the regular restore from backup from Itunes?

Or is it best to keep the thing clean and start again fresh? any difference to preformance etc?
