UK iPhone 5 thread

Anyone got any solid confirmation that the apple online pre orders are starting at 8am tomorrow?

Also anyone had any luck with T-Mobile nano sims and how existing contract users can do a swap if buying the handset directly from apple?

1. We have rumours and one person on here who said the Apple enquiry line told them, over the phone, pre-order would open at 8am

2. Nothing on T-Mob, I've been to a store and they're useless, website just has usual 'register for news' link.
 
I keep trying to do this but get stuck with people called April and Rylee who are quite frankly no help at all. I just want a Nano Sim for my O2 PAYG Simplicity, :(

i got so far and right after asking my address etc they came back with we will get in touch when they are available. i mean wtf... its starting to piss me off now

I'm on Monthly Simplicity plan, but I'm not holding my breath on the SIM card coming quite yet.
When I have requested a replacment before they have been able to give me the order ref straght away

I recognise that O2 are getting flooded with questions about the sims but they really can be an anal cavity at times. Just tell me when I can pick one up in store or if I can at least pre-order it online. First world problems eh...
 
I'm preordering the 32gb iPhone 5 unlocked from the apple store tomorrow as i want to use my current O2 Simplicity contract with it. I phoned O2 this morning about getting a nano-sim, they told me they will be available on September 21 and not before. So once my phone is delivered, i have to drive down to the O2 store to get a sim for it :(
 
Just rang my local T-Mobile store. They said it uses a micro sim. I assured them it doesn't and told them to check Apple's website.

He then agreed with me and said he'd chase it up and get back in touch with me.

I'll keep people informed, unless I'm late to the party and others have already done this?
 
Any updates for when O2 has updated their contracts and pricing? Love to get my hands on a 64gb on contract!

yes, t-mobile being the most clueless of the bunch, surprisingly, considering they are the only one with a migration path to LTE, is now something of a running theme in this thread.
