After seeing all these pictures and posts about the black on scuffing incredibly easy, i'm very disappointed and my black 32gb hasn't even arrived yet.

If i was to phone my local apple store and say can i come down and exchange it for a white one, would they let me, does anyone know?

I'd probably not even open it, and just head straight down to the store and exchange it, as any slight scuff would drive me insane!

Anyone know?

Ofcourse they wont. They wont have any stock for a while.

my ups guy delivered it at 8:17 this morning wasnt even awake at that time, and boy did i jumped out of my bed :)

I think you're getting "On Vehicle for Delivery" and "Out for Delivery" confused. UPS will state on vehicle for delivery after the package has been loaded into the van, whilst out for delivery means the van has left the UPS Depo :)

I think you will find when the tracking updates to "out for delivery" the top bit automatically changes to "on vehicle for delivery"

Out for delivery doesn't mean it's on the van driving around (at 5am especially)

Just this second came! :D

I am north London and the UPS driver saw me do a little dance when the truck pulled up BUT I DON'T CARE! :D

made deliveries across the street then left.

I gathered that, but wasn't sure whether they had stock for exchanges or whatever separately from the ones they sell.

Poor service from Apple in my opinion, this is just so careless and stupid of them. Do they not actually test the phones before they ship them out. Stupid.

Quandry

Well, my order has arrived!!!

I couldn't decide on a colour so I ordered one black and one white so that i could decide once I'd seen them.

But now I have a dilemma. I can't decide which I prefer. I've always had black in the past. So i thought I'd get white this time. But it looks like it might show scratches easier.

Plus I noticed the black went onto longer shipping times on the apple store than the white, so I'm thinking black might be more saleable in the future if and when i upgrade.

Any thoughts anyone?!

I'm in N2-just round the corner. UPS also. COME TO DADDY!!!

LOL. Hope everyones turns up soon! I have to say, having had an iPhone since 2007 (only missed the 4S), this is by far the best phone I've ever had, it's so light, my 4 feels like a brick in comparison. It's well worth the wait!

No marks on mine, although I can see the back plate (black model) is going to get grubby.

Where in North London? Peeps, ask the drivers where they're going next and post-HAVE A HEART! :)

TWO false alarms; first Royal Mail recorded del. then bleedin' Debenhams! I just had to laugh when I answered the door for the second time.

From what people are saying, black scuffs and marks EXTREMELY easily. And some have even arrived with scuffs already on them. I'd go with white if you want it in perfect condition.

Interesting notes about the scuffs.. I shall have a camera on hand to take photos as I take mine out of the box.

Not paying £600 for a marked product and to have Apple staff question it, too.

still waiting.

Still waiting. I’ve been stuck with SYNCREON which is actually just a logistics company that holds the phone until it’s being delivered so I don’t even know which courier is bringing it! :(

I keep jumping towards the window everytime I hear a van!

Note: I’m in the Leeds area.
