I think it's safe to say that by and large, couriers depend on the willingness of the individual delivery driver to ship them product.

Unless it's Yodel, of course. Nothing but complaints from them.

I have heard good things about UPS and bad things about UPS but if you think about it, the delivery driver drives to your house. They locate your house. They avoid identifying and stealing your iPhone, they knock on your door, they wait a good amount of time, and they put the card through telling you it wasn't down.

Sometimes it's down to bad luck. Of course, staff training and keeping track of your staff is important, something Yodel misses out on completely.

Yes, I am partially saying this because I want to feel better about having UPS my assigned courier for delivery on Monday.

What time did you order the iPhone in the uk?. Mine changed this morning also too "preparing to ship"
Confirmation email was 10:50AM on the 14th. I actually would have got it ordered in time for delivery today if I realised sooner that the work VPN didn't like the Apple store.

I was swiftly "prepared for shipping" this afternoon and received a shipping email just an half hour ago. Looks to me like I was previously scheduled for delivery of the second factory batch destined to reach the UK, but they had some left or something, or the batch arrived much sooner, so they shipped tonight?

Cheers for reply. Ordered mine 25 minutes after you, Lets hope I get shipped by this evening.

Sympathies to those still waiting. Vodafone did it pretty well and I got the phone mid afternoon and SIM swap took about 30 minutes.

Its worth waiting for, a lovely phone with a quality feel. I've had every incarnation of the handset since the 3G and this really is my favourite.

I'm annoyed too. I've been following my tracking on the UPS site since this morning. At the start of the day it was out for delivery and I'd been checking regularly to see if it had been delivered. About an hour and a half ago I checked again and it said the package was missed at the UPS facility and will be delivered the next business day which is Momday.

I called UPS to find out what happened and to complain. The customer service rep told me it had been out for delivery but because there were too many packages the the delivery person didn't have time to deliver it and its been taken back to the depot. They said I could pick it up at the depot. What's even more annoying is that the depot is just down the road for where I work and I could have picked it up but I had no relevant ID. If I had known I would have made sure I had. I can't got tomorrow morning as its Saturday and I don't work weekends. Now I'm going to have to go pick it up on Monday.

I'm going to make a formal complaint to Apple too as this is ridiculous and unacceptable. :(

I had to leave the office as they were locking up, so no phone for me :(

I'm really unhappy about this - the guy on the phone said he's probably coming to me last because I'm near the depot. But I mean, if you pay for delivery on a certain date during business hours then why should that change based on your proximity to the depot?

I shall be asking them to deliver to my other half's in Ealing tomorrow. I really hope they will, as this is just utterly unacceptable!

Sorry I sound like a right drama queen :p

I'm so indecisive. I have two iphone 5's here, a black 32gb and a white 16gb. The black 32gb for me and the white 16gb for my girlfriend. She's now decided she doesn't want the iphone, she's going to get a cheap samsung one instead. She's concerned she'll break it, which in fairness she probably will.

Here comes my dilema, i now have my pick of two iphones. I wasn't sure if i needed the 32gb, i have a 32gb iphone 4 so I just though 'ok 32 gb again'. But now after seeing the black scratching threads, I might go for the white one!

Decisions! It's a good spot to be in I suppose, I just always see the white iphones of kind of show offy that's why I'm reluctant - but if the back of the black is really easy to scratch the white may be best for me!

Anyway, post over - will let you know which one i decide on! Riveting i know!

P.S - UPS guy asked me how much I paid for it and said jokingly I should just use a cup and string.

If any of you guys are expecting UKMail to deliver your iPhone 5 today and its not arrived or the driver left a calling card, they will automatically attempt to deliver to you again tomorrow (Saturday 21st September 2012).

It's a phone. Life, surprisingly, will go on without it until Monday.

They told me that I cannot pick it up tomorrow and they will try to deliver it on Monday (no specific time) 9AM - 7PM.

I know Uk Mail say they'll deliver to 8pm but does anybody else think the driver has just decided to go home, I mean delivery was supposed to be 8am - 8pm mine wasn't in the van until 8:45am :S

I'm sitting six feet from the front door, my UKMail just changed to delivery attempted, card left. Neither of which are true and can't get through on the phone!

WOW thats a joke! Hope this doesn't happen to me but have a feeling I'll be in the same boat...looks like we won't see this phone until Monday at earliest!!!!

To be honest there is no need for that kind of response although I was expecting some people to respond like that. I'm well aware of what it is and that life doesn't revolve around it. I've also got an iPhone 4S at the moment so it's not a big deal in that sense. To me it's the principle of the issue. I preordered it, it was out for delivery today so I expect it to have been delivered today. It's UPS' responsibility to delivery it today if other have recieved it from Apple and its out for delivery today. I have every right to complain. It's just as we'll I didn't take the day off or I would have had even more to complain about. I feel bad for those who did take the day off and still didn't get it.

I was told I could pick it up today or tomorrow morning but I had no ID today and tomorrow isn't practical as I live in London and the depot is right near where I work and I've got other things to do tomorrow. I'm just going to have to pick it up on Monday either before or after work or during my lunch break.

Ordered mine on Tuesday from Carphone Warehouse when delivery was still said to be 21st. No email saying my order had been sent so phoned up CPW tonight and they said it could be up to 2 weeks before I get it delivered
