So - I was phoned by Orange on Thursday and offered (for an additional £30 over my £220 upgrade fee) a 64gb white rather than 32gb black ordered......with GUARANTEED Sat delivery.........can you guess what happened yesterday ?............that's right b@gger all !

For the sake of the other 4,999 Orange customers offered this - they went out Royal Mail special delivery.....if they didn't arrive Sat they'll arrive Monday.

Special delivery don't do Saturdays unless they pay the upgrade fee. Which I doubt.

anyone know how long it would take for apple to give money back if i cancel my order?

(so i can go into a store, which has plenty)

As Mercenary says the estimation is 8-12Mbps, hopefully it will be much quicker as I can't see customers taking it for the small increase over 3G (my opinion)

Tests below show much faster speeds although its obviously not yet under load

didn't realise it was that low. Almost Makes upgrading to EE not worth it cost wise and hassle wise.

be good to see some comparison videos when EE does come out.

I think the speeds they are quoting are guaranteed minimum - the launch day tests showed up to 40Mbps and I'm sure the actual speeds will vary from location to location and time of day.

I showed earlier I was getting 18Mbps downstream on Orange at 6.30 on a Friday evening. So I would expect LTE to be even faster than that.
However this 18Mbps tends to drop to around 8Mbps out and about in busier locations during the day.

Basically I think EE are trying to manage people's expectations, especially as they will be charging a premium for 4G.

Can anybody comment on the stock of the Apple stores in Manchester?

Either Arndale or Tradford centre?

I need an exchange because of wifi issues and wondered if anybody has walked in and bought one since Friday?

I'm not at all happy with my O2's 3G speeds here in Cambridge, I get around 2.5 Mbps up 1Mbps down AT MOST. My contract ended a while back so I'm free to move to switch.

Anyone in Cambridge on three or other networks?

Where about in Cambridge?

Wow what's all the fuss with 4G LTE when people are getting 15 Mbps with regular 3G. That like more than enough for video calls, youtube or even playing online games.

I doubt anyone's gonna be downloading torrents with their smart phones.

Can highly recommend these cases if your looking for leather pouch type I had one for my IP4 and they are top quality, very soft with soft lining to protect the screen and only took 2 days to arrive from Turkey! Only problem is pre order for Oct 9, I've ordered mine:D

I had a similar case to the zero series made by Sena called the ultraslim. The seam on the inside of the leather pouch polished/scratched the metal band on my 4S so it had a line up both sides. Is this an issue with the Beyzacases version? Have they protected the seam at all or is it just folded in and stitched like on the ultraslim?

Hey guys,

The iPhone 4 does not support FaceTime over 3G regardless of which version of iOS you have.

Getting 8mbps down on orange 3G at home. Will be on wifi mainly though which is 30mbps.

Was looking at the LTE is Los Angeles thread and one guy was getting 60mbps!!!

Bit of advice - if you've got an iPhone on order for delivery from Apple, or direct from one of the networks - cancel it and go into the shop.

They are getting tons of the things in. The Watford shop (arguably one of the least popular shops) had 15 pallets arrive today - at once! I also spoke to the one over at Milton Keynes - loads in stock, not a problem picking one up at any time today.

Just stay away from them early in the morning as you get the scalpers there.

Although I was at Watford 9.05 am Saturday and they couldn't sell me a sim free phone as all they had left were for contracts. They said they had received 400 to sell sim free that morning but they had gone by 9am.

That's the other thing about buying a contract phone, the phone is locked and you often have to pay to have it unlocked (took orange 8 weeks to unlock mine).

It's a pity you upgraded the iPhone 4 to iOS 6, now there is no possible way for FaceTime over 3G to work. If you were still on 5.1.1, there would have been ways to make it work ;).

Let us know if Watford say they have received new stock, I just called them now and they have nothing on sim free.

Does anyone know if its possible to buy an iphone in an apple store on a three contract? If it is are the prices the same as those offered by three?

Thanks
