Yes i did, Due for delivery tomorrow via TNT says in transit, been saying its from/ in nuneaton since friday, Should change by the morning and be out for delivery I hope.

And you ?

Same, says:
Destination: PLYMOUTH 22 Sep 2012 Shipment in Transit
Apple site says estimated delivery date 24/09, am also hoping that it Changes in the morning!

Same boat, although as an upgrader. Their system crashed on friday morning as you probably now know. I couldn't get any information (other than that my order hadn't gone through properly and £209 had gone from my bank) until yesterday. Finally got a tracking number for UKmail and finally it now says delivery for tomorrow. I guess we should tolerate the late delivery - although surely they would expect it being a tad busier than normal on pre-order day? - but the absolute incompetence and lack of information held by Orange staff is jaw dropping. Had i not hounded them, the only message/confirmation/receipt/thanks for order I would have since the 14th would be a text last night giving helpful hints 'to help you getting up and running or your new phone.' Shambles, and makes you want to rant the entire time! It should be something to look forward to. Anyway, if you can get a tracking number for UKmail - mine begins 085....- it might bring good news. Hope you get yours soon.

How did you get your tacking number?

Any of you guys that have the iPhone 5 noticed any scuffs, scratches or dents... It seems the Americans are talking more about it.. May be we are luckier??

I saw in this thread on launch day that about 5 people had scuffed iPhones out of the box. So we definitely aren't unaffected.

Mine however was perfect with no issues :D

They are referring to the fact that the iPhone 5 will only EVER work on LTE for T-Mobile/Orange and Three. It will never be compatible with O2 or Vodafone even when they have LTE as they use different bands. I got mine with Three as best price, unlimited data and the possibility of LTE in a years time

Thank you for your reply.

And how about 3G speed & coverage? Are all carriers pretty much the same? Is 3 the only one to offer unlimited data plan?

Still waiting to pick mine up from the UPS depot tomorrow. If its scuffed, scratched or marked in any way it's going back to Apple for a replacement.

At the time they told me they would be getting more in a couple of days. I was enquiring for my sister, my own IP 5 is amazing. I cut down my Virgin sim (badly but it still works) and last night got over 19 mb/s which is far faster than my broadband connection.

I can't wait for 4G, thankfully I get a solid 14-18mbps on my broadband, which makes up for poor signal indoors :)

Coverage and speed varies from provider to provider. O2 have the worst coverage and speed while 3 has the greatest 3G coverage. As do t-mobile and orange although their speeds are slower.

Check the ofcom website, they have maps showing the various providers 3G coverage.

On a personal note. 6 months ago my wife and I switched from t-mobile and orange to three as while they had coverage, I often couldn't use the Internet or speeds were terrible. Three have proven to be reliable and we do a lot of travelling so not just in our home town.

T-mobile while they do not offer unlimited do not charge if you go over your limit however they may throttle your speeds.

T-Mobile do offer Unlimited on the Full Monty plan as well as all the iPhone 5 plans. It is truly unlimited too, they don't even have a fair use policy. They did used to cap the speed at 3.8Mb but as of 3 days ago when they changed the Carrier profile to EE, this has been lifted.

NO NETWORK has LTE yet and when it does it will be EE in a few weeks. Then you will need a new LTE EE SIM as existing Orange/T-Mobile sims won't work on 4G but that is the only case where your right.

It doesn't make any difference if you cut down a standard or micro sim to nano size it will work perfectly on 3G.

I know no network has LTE yet. However its not just EE that will have LTE as Three have acquired an entire band (much like EE did) and will be offering LTE connectivity from that soon, obviously not in the next few weeks, but the rollout wont take too long. Given the very poor plans on offer from T-Mobile/Orange, you'll be hitting their limits pretty fast on LTE!

Even the Apple Store reps were recommending the Three plans. You'd be crazy to willingly pick one from O2 or Vodafone, thats for sure!

Can you please expand on this one? I'm planning to change my phone number in a few weeks, and so goes for my carrier (I had O2 till now). I would use iPhone 5 mainly in London, which operation is better fit for internet heavy user? So far I've seen that 3 is the only one to offer unlimited data.

Basically to begin with only T-Mobile/Orange (under the name 'EverythingEverywhere') will offer LTE, with three to follow. No other network will have access to LTE, thus its a poor offering from them.

The finish on mine is just a smidge off perfect, in a couple of corners where the antenna bands join the sides, but only the kind of stuff you see if you're really looking. Certainly no chips or scratches, and I haven't put any on it yet either.

I'm very close to the edge of the M25 (inside of it) pretty much flat south from central London, at least that's what I can make out from Google Maps and this map.. It looks as though I may just about have 4G coverage!

Looks as if your inside the M25 then you'll be ok

I'm definitely within the area covered according to that map for both home and work. I think as long as the costs are reasonable I will probably switch to EE's LTE network from my current regular plan on O2's network which is very poor for 3G especially around where I live and work.

mine (white 16gig) is the same - very minor 'lines' above the plastic bands...looks like its where the aluminium was joined (which shouldn't be the case if its liquid metal, so may actually be stress marks)

EE were forced to sell 2x15Mhz blocks to Three as part of the deal to allow them to run LTE this early - but the deal won't be going through until September next year. Three, therefore, can't use the blocks to run LTE until that date at the earliest, so no, there won't be a competing LTE network for around another year.

Three, in all honesty, may just plump to run LTE in the 800 and 2100 bands that are being auctioned off in 2013 anyway, rather than two restrictive blocks.

According to what I've read Three wont be able to provide LTE for another year. If so that's not exactly soon.

Only the sister arm "EE" will offer LTE, Orange and T-Mobile will only offer 3G technologies.

Everything Everywhere will operate the EE, Orange and T-Mobile brands. EE is not Orange and T-Mobile combined as everyone presumes, if you need anymore info give me a DM.

I knew that, took me a bit to figure it out but I did.

That's good news. Reading the American thread it feels like every single black phone is affected. I am worried as my phone is already in London and I am in USA and wont be seeing it before a month time (unexpected business trip). I don't want to open it then and find dents or scuffs. I am worried by then Apple won't exchange it for me too! Any ideas of what to do? I have no one that can inspect the phone in London...
