Just did reservations but this time at 3 different stores in London with both 32gb white and black. And using my s3 on 3G, My macbook on wifi and on flat mates wifi. Hopefully I will get 1 of the 3 reservations tomorrow. :D

I expect scratches caused by me... but I do not expect scratches on a brand new £700 product out of the box.

A reasonable thing to expect.

People accept different levels of service.

I don't think a tiny nick would make me want to swap it out. However a large scuff, scratch or loose front screen would.

Have been trying the reservation system every day, with no luck at all. Was only putting in one reservation a day, and then yesterday, put a boat load in, and still didn't get anything :(

Can't do a reservation today as going away, and sods law states that I'll get it, and then i'll be out of the country :D

Might just bite the bullet, order online and wait the month or two for delivery.

I've know people putting up to 8 reservations per day at the same store and be fruitless. Their is a rumour circulating that Apple are somehow able to see if someone is using the same IP address but different e mail addresses and binning them. How true that us I don't know.

Personally I've put in one request and will see how I go by 9pm tonight.

One thing I am is patient.

Ordering via Apple Uk Online pulls up an "estimated" delivery of late October to early November.

It could be IP address tracking or the actual email/name, etc. But i've submitted them from work, home and on the move, all from different devices, but to no avail.

Will wait till next week and try again :)

Made 3 reservations today despite the rumours about Apple considering that to be "abusive"... did it using my iPad on wi-fi, iPad on 3G (o2) and iPhone on 3G (3)

Wondering whether it's worth all the effort though....regardless of our feelings at the moment, being rational for a minute, makes me more optimistic that we will still get our iPhones on Mon/Tue....

I honestly think it's availability that's screwing us, not multiple applications. If the same person turned up at a store day after day, then sure - they are abusing the system and I think that's why the *reservation emails* and not the reservation website makes the comment about abuse of the reservation system.

If you put in a number of requests for different phones from different stores, you're probably just keen to get your hands on a phone.

I just want to clarify this as this seems to stem from me.

I have no "source" or "insider" I was simply going by the T&C's on the email posted by a forum user confirming their reservation which said "Apple reserved the right to cancel reservations for abuse of the system"

I have no evidence that Apple is filtering out people who issue multiple requests, however some of the people who have been successful have only submitted one request. Where as myself and other "Spammers" have got nothing.

Hopefully that clears things up for anyone who was unsure.

I've submitted 2 applications, one from my phone over 3G and one over Wifi. Lets see if I have any joy this time. Good luck to everyone else (unless you tried to order a Black 16GB from either Eldon Square or the Metro Centre, in which case, get your filthy hands off "my" phone!")

For the record, I reserved a 32gb white at 9 different stores yesterday - and I would have gone to whichever I got a reservation at.

Today I'm trying just the one. I doubt it'll have an effect, but since I had 9 fails yesterday, I may as well.

Have any of you tried getting one from an O2 shop? I wandered into the one in Colliers Wood yesterday and walked straight out with a new 16gb White Iphone 5....

They didnt seem like they were in short supply?

I have - checked the stock online with the o2 checker...none have any of any of the iphones

Im still doing the maths and looking at deals...what is the advantage of getting an unlocked one over one on contract in terms of price / value?

trying for the last 6 days and no email.

ordered one yesterday i guess will wait till 26th october.

Personally, I don't think the maths have any bearing on my decision to go for unlocked phones. It is all about having the freedom to change provider whenever I feel and not having to be tied to any single provider for 24 months...when I new phone lauches I can always get it, and look for better deals....for instance, just moved to 3 from O2, which was costing me £26 and now have got the same minutes, more data, etc on 3 for £12.90

BTW, I have to say I am impressed by how good 3's customer service is, not to mention the data speeds, at least twice as fast as O2 used to be.

cool.. i will have a look at that...i know that 3 is quite bad around where i live for reception etc

You get a much better contract if you get a SIM only deal. I have two iPhone 5's. My contract with Vodafone gets me 1GB internet (should have been 500MB but as I was a long-term customer I got an extra 500MB thrown in), 300 mins & unlimited texts for £10.50 a month, with my 3 SIM only contract I pay £15.90 for totally unlimited internet, 600 mins & 5000 texts.

I understand that some people are not in a position to buy SIM free iPhone's, but paying £30-£45 a month for a contract makes my eyes water. I'd rather take the hit with the cost of the phone then pay next to nothing p/m for my contracts...

the o2 contract i was looking at is £250 then 26 per month....it doesnt seem to bad for me..i need at least 600 mins a month...data 1gb is fine as i have bt openzone and can usually hook up somewhere when out. I will have a look around at some of the sim only deals though

Sim free your also not tied into paying for a contract should your phone get broken or stolen. What if you loose your job? Still have to pay that £30-£40 a month for a phone you can no longer afford.

You can switch at any time as better deals are always coming along.

Your phone will take any SIM, great if you ever go abroad, you just buy a local cheap sim and away you go.

Recently most of the networks put up everyones contract prices and there was nothing you could do about it as it's in the small print. Some people had just signed a contract for 2 years expecting to pay £xx a month but now it was more.

I pay £12.90 a month on Three for 200 mins, 5000 text and unlimited HSPA+ (42mbps max) internet and tethering works (although against the TOS you can still use it unlike on orange). I think in the past year ive used my iPhone for a total of 200 mins, for me its all about the data and most of the contract deals all include a pissy amount of data. Which is annoying as its the one thing your phone will use without your say so, at least with calls you choose when it uses the minutes.

What happens when your in a 24 month contract on O2 or Voda and everyone else is on an LTE network?

Freedom man, go SIM free and enjoy the freedom. It's like every day is no pants day ;)
