The iPhone 5 sold in the UK will be compatible with EE's upcoming LTE network, and will also likely work with 3's when it launches next year.

So as I've got a sim free iPhone 5 from apple I will be able to switch networks to ee and Lte / 4g will work !

I currently use 02

Sounds like an option.

As it stands, yup.

For anyone with a SIM free iPhone, I just walked past the Three store and noticed they have some new 1month tariffs. For £12.90 a month you get 200mins 5000texts All You Can Eat data. There's a £9.90 option with 500MB data too.

Been with Three 7 months now and can't fault their 3G service.

Don't quote me on it, but I thought I read it would work on Orange and Three as they are both using the same 4G frequencies but probably won't work on O2, Vodafone.

It can't work on O2 or Vodafone LTE as so far there is no such thing.

By the time that O2 and Vodafone roll out commercial LTE you'll probably be on your iPhone 5S or 6.

Man I can't believe how busy that Apple Store was !

Which store was that?

This is the deal I have. Amazingly good value.

I'm usually on 1 bar of signal but the data speeds are always extremely fast. Much faster than when I had full signal on O2.

I switched from O2 too. Got so fed up with O2's poor 3G performance and no unlimited data (or if it did it had a FUP).

Never looked back.

Or Giffgaff: 250 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited data, £10.

Tried GiffGaff between leaving O2 and joining Three.

Was as pants as O2. Understandable really as they piggy back off O2.

Finally got my reservation tonight after three weeks of trying daily!

Been with O2 for over a year, been with GiffGaff for over a year, been with 3 for over a year. 3 are definitely the best for iPhone 3G data speeds and reliability - especially in London.

Yeah this is my experience too. Have been with Vodafone for years but their 3G speeds and coverage and call quality is really deteriorating especially in cities. Moved to Three and very pleased.

About 10am this morning, usually do 9am on weekdays at work but wasn't up early enough on my day off!

32GB Black which is apparently (nothing to back this up apart from these boards) is the most popular!

Andy

PS. Also Ian, where in Lancashire are you? - I've just relocated to London from there!

The opinion i'm getting from reading this thread is that most people are impressed with the service they are receiving from 3.

I'm still a little sceptical about them and their coverage for some reason. Their pricing is definitely the best if looking for a contract phone.

Can anyone else give their opinions on them for the iPhone 5, especially those who have moved from another network over to them. I'm just thinking in terms of reception and data coverage.

Pretty sure I read that GiffGaff are cutting the unlimited data from the £10 bag?

Unlimited data on the £10 bag is being replaced with 1GB of data, however it will now be possible to tether other devices to your iPhone when using this plan. Unlimited data will live on in a new £12 bag, however you won't be able to use that for tethering.

I use 3 right across the North of England up to the Borders, and find coverage excellent, I've only had to deal with CS twice in 2 years, once for a number port and one technical problem and both were dealt with efficiently.

Can't fault them or the network infrastructure, I get a strong, fast 3G signal in some very rural locations where other networks don't have any 3G signal at all (like o2).

Similar experience south of the country. I work between midlands and south of London and I can't fault the reception. It's usually full bars. They have very good rural coverage, I agree. Spoke to Three on Twitter before I joined and they mentioned how they'd spent a lot of money on the infrastructure since the early days. I had a Three contract when they first started up and they were dire back then.

Only spoke to CS once and had no problems.
