I put one reservation for a 64 to see if I'd get it, and I did only really wanted a 32 but I might get this one anyway D: not sure.

Ive always been comfortable with 16gb for my needs.
Im not a gamer and nor do i download oodles of apps.
I have a little over 500 songs and a couple of videos on my 4s so out of 16gb i have 6.8gb left !

two quick things...

1) I was just asked for my name. Didn't ask for any other id.

2) Currys/PC World have lightning cables for £15 now. I will get a spare I think.

What no request to see your Apple e mail confirmation etc ?

maybe different apple stores follow different inhouse rules then ?

When my friend got his they only asked for a name.

Well you gotta get it now its fate calling !!

Think I might :p these delays are silly plus im using a 2G only phone with three and they are threatening to kick me off the network.

Thanks for the heads up.

Ive chosen a suitable time for collection.

i picked up a nano sim from 02 last week in readiness and was going to do an online sim swap but are you saying they help with this ?

----------

Cheers Dave,

Just gotta get thro working 9am till 2pm and then a train ride to the store.

Hi Chris.

Did you go for the white or black/slate ?

Good 1st one out of the box ?

Yes mate. The Apple store representative did everything with regards to the Micro SIM to Nano SIM swap. Called through to Three, put me on the phone for 30 seconds to confirm identity. It had swapped over within half hour.

I went for 32GB black and slate. Had a black 3GS, white 4S. Liked the look of the black 5 more then the white this time. Only went 32GB because the price difference this year between 16GB and 32GB was smaller. Thought might as well.

Apple store I went to asked to see my photo ID and the email. They did all the sim swap for me with Three, so it was up and running when I left the store. Really good service at the Bath Store.

Im thinking more and more that the i.d request is for users buying them on contract or upgrading their contract !

Im buying mine sim free and when i click on the link within the e mail which should tell me what to bring it just connects to an apple page about making reservations ,and how to make a genius appointment.

I did ring the store to confirm the reservation. Maybe it was the same guy? But no, just the name given, and no email required.

Good times then.

Perhaps time to update your signature now then ?? lol.

;)

Nope. Got ID'd and I bought mine SIM free.

I'm only a SIM only plan with Orange (£15.50 a month, 1.5GB of data, 600 minutes and unlimited texts). I'm buying the iPhone 5 unlocked.

I'm unsure whether I'll be able to use EE's 4G network with my current plan. I'm in one of the cities advertised with coverage, and I'm assuming the nano sim card Orange have sent me will be LTE enabled?

Think Orange have said as an existing customer you'll get first opportunity to 'upgrade' to 4G. That'll of course involve entering in to a longer contract no doubt, and a price hike given its a new service and they have no competition yet.

I'm still trying to get an iPhone 5 via the reserve website from one of the uk retail stores no luck so far

Tried various colours and gb sizes

Still no luck, it's nice to here people are getting them via this route, give me a little hope:)

What do you guys think of this deal?

White 64GB £104
Orange £41/m
Unlimited mins/text and 2GB Data

Do you know the finer details on what is involved in upgrading my contract to 4G? I can't find much on their website.

Man I can't believe how busy that Apple Store was !

Overheard a couple continually asking can they pay for a sim free iPhone 5 now. Lost count how many times they were told NO !

Anyway after giving my name I was presented with my iPhone 5 16gb black/slate model.

No request for any i.d or my e mail reservation print out. Didn't even check the name on my bank debit card !

It's in pristine condition, for now anyways.

I'll check what model number it is when I get home.

No 'clicky' front screen or stuck/ dead pixels and no light bleed.

Still to check out wifi.

After my 14 th attempt at reserving I'm happy.
